Author’s POV

The whole way to Starbucks Kiseop held your hand. You obviously went walking since it was only a few blocks away. You wanted to pull away but at the same time you didn’t want to pull away. There’s something about him that makes him… Special? Whenever you’re with him your heart starts beating like crazy and his eye smile makes you blush like a tomato every time. The way he’s so nice and so sigh you don’t know what but there’s just something about him. You’ve honestly never felt this way before so you don’t know why you act like this. You trailed off in thoughts about him that you didn’t know you guys were already at the counter and he was ordering your Frappuccino. Good thing Lynn doesn’t work today nor the guys are here or this would give the wrong hint. You thought.

“Tay?” Spoke to soon. You turned around to see YooYoo with Eli standing in back of you. You quickly let go of Kiseop’s hand and went towards YooYoo. What you didn’t know was that as soon as you let go of Kiseop’s hand he felt as if you were embarrassed to be seen doing that type of skin ship with him by your friends. He felt kinda sad and his face showed it but was able to hide it well and out on a fake smile as he saw YooYoo and Eli.

“YooYoo! What are you doing here? Where are Lynn and Kevin? How come you only came with Eli?” You quickly went over to her side and wrapped your arm around her arm. She looked at Kiseop kinda weird and then responded your question.

“Lynn had some extra credit AP class work and Kevin had some type of schedule with Soohyun and AJ. What are you guys doing here and why are your eyes red? Have you been---?” She was cut off by the barista calling out your name. You went back to Kiseop’s side as he handed you your drink. You thanked him and gave him a quick smile before going back to YooYoo. Eli felt awkward so he went towards Kiseop and started talking to him while YooYoo kept asking why your eyes were red. You went towards a table while the rest followed behind. You sat with YooYoo to your left and Kiseop in front. When Eli was about to seat YooYoo stopped him.

“Umm can you go over there for a while? Tay is gonna tell me why---“

“It’s fine he can stay. It’s no big deal” You cut her off. Eli, confused, took a seat as you started explaining why your eyes were red.

“So Kiseop knows now?”

“Yup…. Like I said, I felt bad for lying to him since he treats me like a true best friend and I didn’t—“

“But that’s all behind now. We’ve started all over and now we will treat each other like best friends, right?” Kiseop finished as he gave you a small warm smile. You smiled back and nodded.

“Well, we should fill Lynn in so she know” YooYoo said as she took a sip of her hot chocolate.

“What about Kevin? He has a right to know too” Eli said as he took a drink of his green tea.

“I don’t know…” You hesitated on whether to tell Kevin or not.

“You don’t have to Haera. You can tell who you want” Kiseop didn’t hesitate to say.

Everyone looked at you in anticipation for your answer. You took a deep breath and finally agreed to let him know.

“I guess it’s alright, I mean I trust Kevin more than I trust Eli so I guess it’ll be fine.”

“Heey~~ That hurts…” Eli tried making himself the victim.

“Well, you did go snooping aroun. You brought it on yourself” Kiseop backed you up.

“Yah, you’re supposed to be my friend Kiseop…”

“Well, Haera has the advantage on this one. I’ll let Kevin know, if that’s fine with you Haera”

“No I’ll let Kevin know” Eli argued with Kiseop.

“No Eli, it’s fine I’ll let Kevin know in practice.”

“No it’s okay I can tell him at the dorm.”

“No I insist I know you guys have no each other longer but I should tell him”

“No, you just want to---“

“Guys!” You and YooYoo raised your voice a bit since they wouldn’t stop arguing.

“I swear you guys sound like two guys fighting over a girl. If we didn’t know any better, we would think you were gay” YooYoo suddenly spoke up.

“YooYoo!!” You tried shushing her but failed. You looked over to the two boys sitting in front of you who had embarrassed expressions and were a bit pink around the cheeks. You couldn’t help but giggle.

“You can tell him…” Eli told Kiseop as he took a sip of his drink.

“No it’s fine, you should tell him..”

“No you have practice with him later”

“You live with him”

“You---“

“Guys!” You both said again causing them to jump a little.

“I’ll tell him later” You finally said getting a nod in agreement from both of them. You giggled at their childishness and shook your head.

“Well, I better get going. I didn’t tell Taemin I would be out and if he gets home and doesn’t find me, he’ll lose it.” You slowly made your way up to throw away your cup.

“I’ll come with you. I need to head home too. That is, if you let me walk you home that is…” Kiseop said as he came towards you. You blushed a little from his cuteness but tried to hide it. You were too late as YooYoo noticed your action. You nodded and smiled cutely before making your way towards the door. As you were heading out the door Kiseop grabbed hold of your hand again and went out the door with you. You hopped no one saw but YooYoo was able to see from the corner of her eye.

“That’s strange…” YooYoo thought out loud.

“What’s strange?” Eli asked

“Huh? Oh nothing let’s get going” Eli nodded and took YooYoo’s empty cup and his to the trashcan. As YooYoo went out, Eli followed behind.  

“Hey… Did it really look like I was gay back there?” Eli asked kinda embarrassed.

“Not just back there. All the time” YooYoo responded.

“Bwo?!”

“Yeah, you’re always so gushy around Kevin, I’ve seen you guys. You hug each other, you pinch his cheeks, it’s like if you guys were a couple.”

“It’s called bromance!” He defended himself.

“Mhhmmm” YooYoo said in disbelief.

“It’s true!”

“Sure…”

“I’m more of a man than you think!”

“Sure you are…”

“Oh, yeah. I’ll prove it to you!” Eli grabbed YooYoo’s hand and took her away.

“Yah, where are we going?!” YooYoo shouted but Eli didn’t reply. “Yah!”

“Yah! Kim Eli!” YooYoo finally burst, causing Eli to stop in his tracks. “Where in the heck are we going?!”

“To prove I’m manly!”

“*Scoffs* Bwo? Prove? Good luck with that…”

“I’m serious! You’re not leaving my side till you admit that I’m manly!” Eli kept saying. YooYoo just shook her head and followed behind Eli.

“You know, you’re wasting your time…” She said irritated.

“No, we’re doing this!” He grabbed her hand again leading her to a batting cage. YooYoo couldn’t explain but she felt something as he pulled her along. She didn’t want to admit it, but the way he puled her by the hand and the force he used made him seem kinda manly. She kept that thought to her and just went along. As they got to the batting cages he paid for a cage and got a bat. YooYoo waited outside his cage.

“You’re not gonna prove anything Pigeon. (Get the reference? His nickname is a pigeon… and he’s in a cage… No? Okay…lol) anyone can bat”

“Can anyone get a homerun? You’ll see I’ll hit that homerun sticker and win that huge teddy bear outside the window.” He said with confidence.

He did the first round but wasn’t able to hit the target. He paid for a second round, and then a third, and then, a fourth. YooYoo was getting bored and went to sit at a bench next to the batting cages. She looked at Eli who was all sweaty and looked tired. It was gonna be 6pm soon.

“Just give it up Eli!” YooYoo shouted from the bench.

“NO!” He shouted out.

*Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding*

Suddenly a bell was rung. YooYoo turned over to look at Eli panting with his hands on his knees.

“You see! *pants* I told you *pants* I would hit it!”

“You’ve been here for hours, that doesn’t prove anything!”

“Oh yeah, I’d like to see someone else try---“

*Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding*

“Yeobo~ Did you see that? I hit it on my first try!” Eli and YooYoo turned to see a girl in a batting cage jumping up and down calling out to her boyfriend. YooYoo turned back at Eli and smirked. “You were saying?” She lifted her right eyebrow up questioning him. Eli stormed out of his batting cage and went back to YooYoo.

“Let’s go!” He grabbed her hand again and took her away, he grabbed the big prize he won and took her to Hongdae.

“What are we doing here Eli? It’s pointless let’s just go!” YooYoo was getting irritated and wanted to go home.

“No! I’m not leaving till you admit I’m manly!”

“Okay, you’re manly. Can we go home now?” She said with sarcasm.

“You have to mean it…”

“Dammit…”

“Come” He took her to a punching game machine. There was a guy who looked really fit. He wasn’t buff but he was cut and you could tell he worked out.

“You, me, lets see who can give a stronger punch” Eli went up to the dude and challenged him. The guy looked at him with an are-you-kidding-me look before he agreed.

“You don’t have to do this Eli…” YooYoo tried to stop him.

“Fine. Let’s see who wins. If I win, I get to take your date over there” The guy looked over at YooYoo. She looked intimidated and was hoping Eli wouldn’t agree.

“First of all, she’s not my date, and second of all, deal!” He agreed. YooYoo got a bad feeling about this. She hid behind Eli and he sensed something was wrong.

“Im gonna win YooYoo, don’t you worry.” He said before making his way to the punching machine. The cut guy went up first. He gave a punch as hard as he could. It made a smack as he made contact with the machine. Eli started getting kinda nervous as the score made its way past 700. They guy got a score of 729. Eli nervously made his way up to the machine. He took a deep breath before giving it a shot. He mustered up all the strength he could and ran to punch the machine. He felt his courage fall as his score hit 728. If it had been just 2 points more, he would have won.

“Well well well. Looks like you lost…” The guy smirked before looking over at YooYoo. “Looks like you have a date with me y lady” He smirked at YooYoo with dirty eyes. Eli doesn’t know why but seeing him look at YooYoo with lust in his eyes made his fury boil. YooYoo would slowly back up as the guy stepped forward towards her.

“Um….Eli?” She sounded kinda scared. Eli couldn’t do anything, a deal was a deal.

“Eli?” Her eyes started watering. “Eli please…” They guy grabbed her arm with force.

“Let go of me…” YooYoo said with a straight face trying to hide her tears.

“Come on baby, we’re just gonna have a little fun” The guy smirked and lifted his hand to touch her face. She slapped it away. “Don’t touch me….”

“Come on, don’t act like you don’t want me. I bet you’re great in bed with that banging body of yours”

She looked back at Eli with disappoint and disgust. How can he stand there when this ert is bothering her?

“Let go of me” She gritted through her teeth.

“What if I don’t want to” the guy pulled her closer. She tried to move back and let go of his grip but she was too weak.

“She said… let go of her” Eli suddenly said causing the guy to let her go and make his way to him.

“And what are you gonna do about it” He said as he pushed Eli back with his finger hitting his chest.

“Don’t do that..” Eli said with a stern face.

“Oh yeah watch me” The guy pushed Eli back.

“You really shouldn’t have done that.”

“Oh yeah what are you gonna---“ Before the guy finished what he wanted to say, Eli let all his anger out with that punch. It was the first time he had ever punched someone and his knuckles were burning like they were in hell. He looked at them and saw if he had hit just a little bit harder, he would have started gushing out blood. The guy stumbled back with Eli’s punch but wasn’t knocked out. He wiped some blood that was at the corner of his mouth before whistling. Suddenly a group of thugs came out behind who-knows-where.

“…” Eli murmured before running to get YooYoo’s hand and started running.

“Get him!” They heard the guy command his gang.

“Run YooYoo, don’t stop running!” Eli and YooYoo kept holding hands and they ran away form the gang. Eli kept frequently looking back checking if they were still being followed. He saw a narrow alley nearby and went inside with YooYoo still holding hands. It was very narrow and couldn’t hold them standing side by side. Eli had held her in his embrace and they were trying to catch their breath.

They soon heard a bunch of people by the alley.

“You lost them!”

“Me? You lost them!”

“Whatever, let’s head back. It’s pointless to keep searching”

They heard footsteps slowly fade as they got their breath back. Eli let her lose and looked at her. He smiled before saying “You got a small nose” and tapped YooYoo’s nose with his finger.

YooYoo couldn’t help but blush.

“You are manly…” She whispered loud enough for Eli to hear it. He smiled to himself.

“Thanks, and you’re really pretty.” He said smirking smiling.

“Let’s go home” He took hold of YooYoo’s hand before making his way out of the alley. Little did they know that starting that moment, their feelings would turn upside-down.

Here's today's update :D The next chapter is mainly between Eli and YooYoo. I just thought I should include something between them lol if anyone is Eli fanbased feel free to replace YooYoo with yourself. If anyone wants Lynn to have something with Kevin, leave me a comment and I'll make it happen. 'YooLi' (xD) will be included more from now on, look forward to it ;D
