The next day Kyuhyun left for his schedules before Niya woke up. The night had been hard - she kept crying and talking in her sleep, obviously having nightmares, but she never woke up. Kyuhyun wondered how mortified she was probably feeling, living in an endless nightmare, without being able to see the light again.
As it was Sunday he asked Heechul, who had a free day from his office to take care of her. His hyung had also been in an accident and didn't need much persuading. Around noon he called to tell him she just left.
"She didn't look good at all, Kyuhyun-ah."
"Aish... Did she go home?"
"I don't think so, she said EOF had rehearsal or something."
"Thanks hyung."
He hang up and called his manager. He was supposed to have English classes in the afternoon, but that could wait. From a cabinet in the practice room he took a cap and a hoodie and headed off to the school EOF had rehearsals in.

His steps were echoing in the long deserted hallway as he was approaching the music room. As he got close to the door guitars started playing and he peeked in. This time there were just a few of them - Niya was playing on a solo guitar, so was Minho, another guy had the bass, a girl was on the drums. Niya was the leading vocalist, turning his head, he saw the rest of EOF position behind two mics, probably the song needed something like a choir too.
The intro soon finished and Niya started singing. Her eyes were closed and as she sang, Kyuhyun saw a tear rolling down her cheek. He listened carefully to the lyrics and felt his heart stinging.

The final chords were still sounding out when Niya's feet gave away. She knelt on the floor with both hands hiding her face. Minho and Jongjin, the bassist got rid of their guitars as fast as possible and went to help her, but Kyuhyun was faster.
The gyus had noticed how close the duo had become and recognized his experience when it came to dealing with her situation. Minho gave them a sign and they all went out of the room, leaving them alone.
Kyuhyun took the guitar away from her and sat on the floor, taking her in his arms.
She sobbed in his chest. He could see she had reached her limit. She was breaking down, man, she had already broken down and needed someone to pull her up.
He smiled slightly remembering another song by the band, whose song Niya was singing. Silently he started singing and caressing her hair.

Somewhere in the middle of the song Niya's sobs calmed down and she snuggled closer to him, taking in his warmth. He always made her feel so... secure... protected... loved.
