The five boys entered a pizzeria somewhere downtown. Byunghun wasn’t quite sure where they were. How am I going to get home…

Seeing the bright lights of downtown, the bustling people crowding the sidewalks and the line of cars waiting in the congested traffic seemed to send an unexpected wave of calm over him. He took in everything, rarely ever getting the chance to go to these parts of town.

The group had just snagged a table at the restaurant. Chanhee ushered Byunghun into the booth first, sliding in next to him. Mir, Changhyun and Woohyun squished together in front of the duo. The place was bright and cheery, people occupying almost every terrible. With red and orange lighting, a full length bar and fully self-serving salad bar, Byunghun almost thanked Chanhee for making him tag along. They were just talking about music editing software, and potentially creating a song.

“Byunghun, you do anything? Sing? Play an instrument?” Mir asked him, putting his elbows into the black table and leaning forward towards the quiet boy. Byunghun met the other boy’s eyes. He opened his mouth to respond, when Changhyun in.

“Our Byunghun can rap, compose, and play piano and the violin. He’s great!”

Byunghun shot Changhyun a look, and sheepishly smiled back at Mir, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m not that great.”

Woohyun cackled. “You rap? Now that I think of it, your voice is pretty good for rapping. Mir was able to get us expensive- music software. We were thinking of tryin’ it out. You should join us for one of our sessions. You and Mir rapping would be pretty sick,” Woohyun smiled at the younger boy.

Byunghun nodded, suddenly getting excited when hearing about composing a song with the other boys. He felt an arm drape around his shoulders. “That’s our Byung,” Chanhee said in a sing-song voice, pulling the younger close to him. Byunghun turned his head to glare at Chanhee, before smacking his chest. “Get your arm off of me, you !”

“Ooh, feisty. I like that, Byung.”

“You wanna shut up now? I’ll punch your teeth out.”

Chanhee laughed, sliding his arm away. Meanwhile, Changhyun had been observing the scene unfold, biting his lower lip. If only he had went in with Byunghun, then he could have sat next to him. And seeing them bicker, he couldn’t help but wonder if Byunghun liked Chanhee. Byunghun was a skinship devil, he didn’t mind skinship. So why would he protest with Chanhee showed some? Either Byunghun liked Chanhee, or hated his guts. Changhyun hoped it was the latter. It was ironic how just a few weeks ago, he was determined to get the two to be comfortable around each other. Now that they were, he wanted them to hate each other. Well, how was he to know that he would develop feelings for Byunghun?!

Woohyun mocked surprise, gasping in a ladylike way before poking Mir. “D’you see that, Mir? Chanhee actually listened to someone! We have found our lion tamer! Congratulations Lee Byunghun, you win!”

Byunghun scoffed, smirking. “So what’s my prize? This goof?” Byunghun, without glancing at the older, smacked Chanhee on the arm. “No thanks,”

Chanhee faked a sob. “B-but Byunghun, my love! My  heart, my heart is shattering,”

Changhyun clenched his fists under the table.

Mir burst out laughing, clapping furiously in hilarity. “Hey, Changhyun. Those two are hilarious, don’t you think?” Mir asked the younger boy, elbowing him. Changhyun blinked. “What? Oh, yeah. Hilarious,” Changhyun said, trying to seem as upbeat as possible and even throwing in a fake laugh. Mir was in another round of fits, patting Changhyun’s back.

Changhyun couldn’t help but be a bit paranoid. Did Mir know? About Changhyun’s feelings? Was that why he just pat Changhyun’s back?
