(Byunghun POV)
“Yah, Changhyun hurry up!” Byunghun shouted, restlessly putting his feet up onto the glass table. He was at Changhyun’s house. They were supposed to go eat dukkbokki together at a local vender’s spot, and frankly, Byunghun was starving. Sliding his phone out from his jacket pocket, he checked the time. Ricky had been getting ready for over fifteen minutes. What the hell is that kid doing up there?!
Right when Byunghun was about to make another bellowing complaint to the younger boy upstairs to hurry up, the doorbell rang. “Hyung! Get the door!” He heard Changhyun’s faint order. Huffing, he shuffled to the front door, which was only a few paces away from the couch he was sitting at. Without bothering to check who it was, he opened the door.
In front of him was a boy, who looked about his age. His hair was a…purple? Red? He couldn’t tell. The boy was taller than him, and slim. Good-looking…Byunghun cleared his throat, momentarily diminishing his thoughts. He pressed his lips together and stared at the boy, hoping that the boy would make some move to tell Byunghun why he was here. Unfortunately for him, no sound was uttered from the other boy. He could see the boy running his eyes down Byunghun’s figure, and felt a bit flustered. “Can I help you?” Byunghun asked after a moment.
The boy immediately locked eyes with Byunghun again, before giving a smile. A smile with no humor, just one of amusement. “Changhyun asked me to come over. Said we were going to go eat.”
Byunghun blinked. Changhyun said that the two of them would go to eat dukkbokki together. Had he told this boy the same thing? “He’s upstairs.” Byunghun bluntly stated, stepping aside from his position in the doorway to let the other male inside the house. Without so much a thank you, the boy stepped inside and threw his shoes aside. Plopping down on the couch, he seemed to be making himself at home. “I’ve known Changhyun since elementary school but I’ve never seen you around before.” Byunghun said, awkwardly sitting as far away from the boy on the only couch Changhyun had in his living room.
To prevent his eyes from resting on the other boy again, Byunghun stared intently at the glass table, and the smudge his socks made when he had rested his feet on it earlier. “I have as well, and I haven’t seen you either.”
The other boy’s voice was…melodic. Soft? Byunghun rubbed his forehead with his palm briefly.
“I’m Lee Chanhee, by the way.”
From the corner of his eye, he could see the male turned to face him, a hand sticking out. Byunghun turned his head and shook Chanhee’s hand loosely, nodding once in acknowledgement. “Lee Byunghun.”
At that moment, the stairs started creaking. Changhyun was finally done. Realizing that Byunghun had held onto Chanhee’s hand for a second longer than he should have, he quickly snatched his hand away and cleared his throat, leaning back against the couch and watching the stair case. It might have been his ears playing tricks on him, but he swore he could have heard Chanhee let out a low chuckle.
Sure enough, the black haired boy descended the stairs, eyes lighting up when he saw both Chanhee and Byunghun sitting together…with a huge gap in between them on the couch. “Hyungs! Wah, you’re all here! But what’s with the space in between you guys, we’re all friends here!”
Byunghun was in a state of shock, and couldn’t properly process what Changhyun was saying. He was too focused on what was going on. His stomach felt all…jittery. You idiot, you held onto his hand! Get yourself together, Lee Byunghun. Get your together. He and Chanhee had just met. There was no way that there was some sort of attraction that was taking place. Besides, Byunghun had a girlfriend. I was thinking about something too long, and that’s why I forgot to let go of his hand. Meeting people always gives me jitters anyways. He mentally nodded at his thoughts. Besides, Chanhee was a guy. A guy! Byunghun scoffed at himself at his ridiculous behavior.
“Uh…Byunghun? We’re leaving now.”
The voice snapped him out of his thoughts as he looked up at the origin of the voice and found himself to be face to face with Chanhee. He could feel Chanhee’s soft breath tickle his mouth. Too close. Too close. Too ing close. For what seemed to be the hundredth time that day, Byunghun cleared his throat and scooted away from Chanhee, getting up and swiftly walking past the other male, walking out the already open door.
