Chapter 2

“Minnie Oppa!”

“Oh my… you're all grown up now Xin”

“Yah I'm not a kid… and I’m not much younger than you either Oppa…”

Jungmin was greeted with a warm hug from Xin Lin the moment they met, and he responded 
by patting her on the head. It had been several years since they last met and his parents had 
arranged for a get together with her family upon his return to Korea after completing his studies.

“We've decided that it’s almost time… for the both of you to get married”

“Bwoh?!”

They exclaimed in shock upon hearing their parent’s announcement on 
the marriage over dinner, and he certainly wasn’t keen on the idea.

“Who was the one saying she wouldn't marry anyone else except her Jungmin Oppa?”

“Oh really? Our little Jungmin insisted his bride had to be Xinlin too”

“But Omma!! We were all so young then!”

“I’m sorry, please excuse me”

Jungmin bowed and excused himself from the table, and made his way to the washroom, 
with his dad following close.

“Yah, what's going on? I‘m not agreeing to it”

“Once the news of our merger and the marriage gets around it’ll definitely will boost our shares, it's for the future our business son”

“That's your problem not mine, since you're such good friends I believe you can work something out”

“Everything's set. You'll get married to her no matter what, and you 
should be thankful it's your childhood sweetheart not someone else”

Picking a stone from the ground, he stretched his hands backwards and threw it into the lake 
with all his strength. His parents had left them to spend time alone after dinner and they had 
been walking in silence for a distance, with Xin trailing him from behind.

“Oppa…”

“Stay away, I do not wish to speak about it”

“Yah… what's with the sudden change of attitude?”

“I‘m never going to agree to it. I already have a girlfriend”

“What makes you think I'd agree too?”

“What's this?”

“For the benefit of both of us”

He got hold of the notebook she was holding out at him and began reading its contents.

Marriage Agreement

- To behave like a real couple in the presence of family and 
company functions, no form of bodily contact otherwise

- Respect for each other’s privacy, free to date anyone at all other times

Any breach of the above will result in immediate termination of the 
marriage and consequences to be borne entirely by infringing party

Marriage will otherwise be annulled after one year on amicable terms

“Are you serious?”

“We'll divorce after a year. I'd just let Appa know we tried but it didn't work out…”
