Chapter 4
Only One Day
“What kind of question is this? And I don’t think I...”
“I’m sorry...”
Hyung Jun pushed her against the couch and pressed his
lips against hers before she could finish speaking.
She struggled to free herself from him but he held on to her for a moment before letting go.
“Looks like we came at the wrong time...”
“Oh... hi... Aniyo, it’s nice to see you again. Sorry I didn’t introduce myself just now,
she was angry with me so I thought I’d better keep quiet for a while.
I’m Kim Hyung Jun, Hana’s boyfriend”
He smiled as he saw the look on the girl’s face when she read his
name card, for that should be enough keep shut.
They had a little conversation afterwards and Hana left the place as soon as they took their leave.
“Hana, wait up...”
He caught hold of her outside the club and got himself a slap across his face.
“What do you think you were doing?”
“I couldn’t stand the way the girl spoke to you.
Why do you always have to act that you’re not concerned when in fact you’re really upset?”
“Don’t speak as if you know me that well.
I don’t need your pity Hyung Jun... and that move was... childish”
She boarded a cab and left, but Hyung Jun managed to catch
up and followed until she reached her destination.
It pained him to see her sobbing alone by the beach late at night,
so he went up to her and hugged her tightly.
He didn’t care even when she hit him repeatedly for a while and
cried on his chest, as long she felt better after doing so.
“I thought he’d understand when I didn’t have time to keep him company...
I had to look after my mum and work late just to pay those bills.
But to think that he was seeing another girl...”
“It’s his loss for not appreciating a girl like you...”
“You guys are all the same...”
“Aniyo, I promise won’t do anything to hurt you. I won’t let you cry again”
“Don’t make any promises if you can’t keep it... you're all like that...”
“I’ll do anything, as long as you let me remain by your side... I really like you Hana...”
He never once expressed his true feelings for the fear of being rejected,
but he heard no more from her as she fell fast asleep in his arms.
That night he finally understood the reason she kept her
distance from him, or rather all guys in fact.
He looked at her as she slept peacefully, free from her usual defensiveness,
and could only wish that she would open up her heart to him.
