Chapter 10

“Unnie! You look gorgeous in the pictures…”

Kimmy said while browsing through the album which was just 
delivered to their home, a day before Krystel’s wedding. 

The family was busy making the final preparations and everyone was in high spirits. 
It was tough accepting it, but Kyu Jong somehow managed to pull through by convincing 
himself that nothing else mattered as long as she was happy. He took a quick peek at the 
album and made his way out of the house to head to work.

“Omma…”

Krystel muttered as she saw her mum seated in the private room of the restaurant she 
was led to. It wasn’t what she had expected as she had received a text from Kyu Jong 
asking her out for dinner. 

The old lady lifted her head and stood up upon seeing her, looking slightly agitated.
She moved forward and held on to her, tears forming in her eyes as she brushed 
her hands over Krystel’s face.


“Mianhae… Omma shouldn't have doubted you…”

“How have you been?”

“I divorced him. He was seeing another woman… and I found some pictures… 
he took of you while you weren't aware… mianhae”

“Omma it doesn’t matter any more… I missed you… and I'm sorry for leaving you alone…”

Knowing that she missed her mum greatly, Kyu Jong had been planning on reuniting 
the both of them. He knew that Krystel had been making trips back to her neighborhood 
occasionally to watch her from a distance, and attempted to talk some sense into the older 
lady several times without any success. But she had come looking for him a few months 
ago for help to reconcile with her daughter after divorcing her step father. Even though 
things had turned out unexpectedly, he felt that it was the best time for them to reunite.

“You don't look like you're a happy bride my dear…”

“…”

“Krystel ah, are you sure you‘re making the right choice? 
Marriage is for a lifetime, you won‘t want to live in regret, right?”

“Omma…”

“Don’t always keep things to yourself, sometimes it's better to voice it all out and let matters clear…”

“But…”

“I've heard about it from the boy. And I can see he really loves you a lot…”

Kyu Jong made his way to the pub and found Young Saeng seated at the bar waiting for him.

“Hyung, what's up?”

“How are you coping?”

“Mwoh?”

“She's getting married tomorrow”

“…”

”Are you sure you're letting her go just like that?”

“Hyun Joong will take good care of her”

“But you're the only one who can make her happy…”

He felt a pat on his shoulder and turned around to find Hyun Joong
standing next to him, managing a smile as their eyes met.

“What are you trying to say? Don‘t tell me you‘re walking out on her on the wedding day…”

“I've been trying to get to you but you rejected my calls… 
I have no choice but to get Young Saeng's help to get you out…”

“Yah… you…”

“You know it. She loves you. Why are you giving her up without fighting for it?”

“But Hyung…”

“Didn't you know about my aspirations to become an actor?”

Kyu Jong rushed home hurriedly and made his way into Krystel’s room. 
She was standing by the balcony and staring into the night sky listlessly.

Krystel gasped as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her from the back, 
but calmed down as she recognized the scent of the familiar cologne and 
the touch that was all so familiar. 

“Don't leave me…”
