Chapter 23

The people inside Lee Donghae and Lee Hyuk Jae’s mansion are all busy preparing for the Christmas Eve. The mansion is decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations. Hyuk Jae always set a color coding every Christmas and its red and gold this time. The giant Christmas tree can be found at the living room. Underneath the Christmas tree are the gifts for everyone. Donghae are happily playing at the entertainment room with his nephew while his son is sleeping peacefully on his crib. Hyuk Jae and Sungmin were cooking at the big kitchen with Mrs. Lee while the helpers clean the mansion

“Honey dear, you can stay inside you room and take a rest. Umma and I can do it”

Sungmin pouts at her sister in law

“But Unnie, I’m already bored inside my room. The only thing that I can do there is to lay down on bed, read and watch TV. It’s really boring you know”

“But still…”

Hyuk Jae stops chopping some white onions

“You still need to rest. That’s what Kyu told us”

“Don’t listen to him”

“Why not? That’s what your doctor told him”

Hyuk Jae pats her sister in law’s cheek

“Go upstairs now and don’t be a hard headed girl”

She smiles at Sungmin and starts rubbing Sungmin’s tummy

“Baby Lock”

“Don’t call her like that”

Sungmin frowns at Hyuk Jae

“That’s a very weird nickname and there’ no way I’m going to name Mihee like that”

“But it’s a very unique nickname honey dear. Baby Key and Baby Lock”

Hyuk Jae laughs softly

“See? You’re even laughing at it. It sounds like a dog name”

“I’m not laughing at the name. I know it’s weird, but I still find it very unique and not to mention, Kyu is the one who gives Mihee that nickname so it’s official”

“Of course not”

Hyuk Jae smiles and starts talking at the baby inside Sungmin’s womb

“Baby Lock, tell mommy to take a rest now. She’s being a hard headed baby girl again. She doesn’t even want to listen. Don’t inherit her hard headedness, Arasso?”

“UNNIE!!!”

Hyuk Jae chuckles and kissed her sister in law’s tummy

“Honey dear, Umma and I can do it. Just go back to your room now”

Sungmin shook her head while pouting. Hyuk Jae sighs and stares at her mother in law

“Umma, our honey dear doesn’t want to listen”

Hyuk Jae told Mrs. Lee who is busy stirring the dark chocolate. Mrs. Lee put down the bowl and walks towards her daughter

“Minnie, please follow. We’re just concern about you. It’s for your own good and Mihee’s good”

Sungmin starts pouting like a little kid

“Aigoo!”

Mrs. Lee gently pinches her baby girl’s cheek

“Why are you so cute? Stop that aegyo of yours”

“Umma”

Sungmin starts talking like a kid

“Minnie, stop it ok. Don’t be a brat now. I really can’t believe that you’re already a mommy. You still look like a kid”

Hyuk Jae nods in agreement

“Umma, honey dear is killing us with her cuteness again. Don’t fall for it”

“But Unnie”

Sungmin stares at Hyuk Jae with puppy eyes

“Please”

Hyuk Jae shook her head

“I’m not going to fall to your aegyo now. Go upstairs or do you want me to call Kyu?”

“YAH!”

“What? Are you going to follow or I’ll call your hubby?”

Hyuk Jae flashes an evil smile while holding her mobile phone

“This is so unfair”

“Of course not”

“Don’t call him”

“Then go back to your…”

Hyuk Jae has been cut when someone knocks on the door. Their eyes widened while staring at their visitors

“FANY!!! SIWON!!!”

“UNNIE!!! OPPA!!!”

Hyuk Jae and Sungmin shout happily. Tiffany runs towards them and give them a warm hug

“I miss you so much”

She kissed Hyuk Jae and Sungmin’s cheek before hugging Mrs. Lee”

“It’s good to see you Auntie”

Mrs. Lee holds her niece’s beautiful face between her hands and smiles at her brightly

“It’s good to see you too. It’s good that you can spend Christmas with us”

“We’re going to spend our Holiday here. It’s good to be back in Seoul and see all of you again”

Tiffany smiles brightly

“OMO! Minnie”

Tiffany giggles happily while rubbing her cousin’s tummy

“What month are you in right now?”

“Seven”

“What’s the gender of the baby?”

“Baby girl”

“AHHHHHH!!!!”

Tiffany screams happily while hugging Sungmin

“I’m happy for you. Finally, you have a baby girl”

Siwon walks towards them while carrying their daughter on his arms

“Hi Oppa, it’s good to see you again and of course Sulli”

Sungmin smiles brightly. Hyuk Jae carries Sulli on her arms as the three year old girl kisses them one by one

“That was sweet. You’re really beautiful like your mother”

Hyuk Jae hugs her nephew happily. Siwon bows at Mrs. Lee before kissing her cheek

“You’re still handsome sweetheart”

Siwon blushes because of the compliment

“By the way where is Kyu and Hae?”

Siwon asks them happily. Hyuk Jae suddenly coughs. Tiffany and Siwon stare at Sungmin who avoid their eyes

“I think I need to go back inside my room now.  I need to take a rest. I’ll just talk to you guys later”

Sungmin kissed Sulli and waves her hand at them before leaving the kitchen. Tiffany and Siwon stare at Mrs. Lee and Hyuk Jae blankly

“They are not in good term”

Hyuk Jae whispers. Tiffany just nods at her. She gets her daughter from her arms and gives her to Siwon

“Hae is upstairs with Minho and Key. They are playing at the entertainment room”

Tiffany stares at Sulli

“Sweetheart, you go first with Appa upstairs. Play with Key Oppa and Minho Oppa, Arasso?”

“Yes Umma”

Tiffany smiles at her. She kissed her daughter before Siwon leaves the kitchen with Sulli. Tiffany wears an apron

“I’ll help you guys”

Hyuk Jae and Mrs. Lee nod happily

“But you need to tell me everything that I missed ok?”

Hyuk Jae nods at Tiffany as they resume cooking

Kyuhyun went downstairs and was shock to see his parents who just arrive

“Hi sweetheart”

Mrs. Cho runs towards her son and gives him a sweet hug while his father pats his shoulder. Kyuhyun stares at his parents

“Why are you here?”

Mrs. Lee pouts

“Why? You don’t want us to be here? I already told you that your dad and I will be here for Christmas”

Kyuhyun sighs

“Seriously, there’s no pint of celebrating”

“Huh?”

“Minnie and the kids will not be here”

Kyuhyun starts walking away

“Yah! Where are you going?”

“Work”

“It’s holiday honey”

“I’m still working”

“What time are you going home?”

Kyuhyun didn’t answer. He just waves his hand and went outside. Mrs. Cho stares at her husband sadly

“So, they are still in bad term?”

“Maybe”

Mrs. Cho pouts and went at the kitchen to drink some cold water. Mr. Cho sighs sadly and follows his wife at the kitchen

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!”

Sungmin, Hyuk Jae and Tiffany shouts in unison. They celebrated Christmas happily at Donghae and Hyuk Jae’s mansion. They greet each other a very merry Christmas as they gather at the living room, eating together, chatting happily and opening gifts. Sulli and Key were happily chatting at each other while sitting under the giant Christmas tree while little Minho is playing happily inside his crib

“What’s the name of your baby girl darling?”

Tiffany asks Sungmin while rubbing her big tummy

“Cho Mihee”

“Mihee sounds like Minnie”

Tiffany giggles happily and notices that Sungmin’s mobile phone keeps on ringing every minute

“Why don’t you answer the call? Your husband is calling”

Sungmin didn’t answer. She just shook her head

“Maybe Kyu just want to greet you and Key a Merry Christmas. Just answer it”

“It’s ok Unnie. Let him call. He’ll surely get tired”

Tiffany brushes her fingers on her cousin’s beautiful face

“Minnie, its Christmas. Don’t be too harsh on Kyu. I bet he’s spending Christmas alone. So don’t add up on his agony”

“I don’t care about him Unnie”

“When will you give up your pride?”

Sungmin didn’t answer. She just stands up and walks away. Hyuk Jae stares at Tiffany who only shook her head as an answer

*CHO CORPORATION*

Kyuhyun was sitting inside his office. He was sitting on his chair while staring at the window sadly. He was holding his mobile phone, hoping that Sungmin will return all his calls because she’s not answering any of it

“Maybe they are busy”

Kyuhyun stares at his watch. It was already 12:30AM. Kyuhyun mobile phone rings

“Yeoboseo”

“Sweetheart, where are you?”

Kyuhyun heard his mother’s worried voice

“We’re all waiting for you here at your house. It’s already Christmas. It’s time to go home now”

Kyuhyun shook his head

“I’m still here in my office. I’m busy with my work right now”

“But sweetheart…”

Mrs. Cho sighs sadly

“You can continue working after the holiday. Seriously, it’s Christmas. Your dad and I fly here in Seoul to spend it with you”

“I’m sorry Umma. I really appreciate your presence, but I just can’t go home”

Kyuhyun’s tears start forming in his eyes

“Sweetheart, please…”

“I’m sorry Umma and beside…”

Kyuhyun wipes the tears that fall from his eyes

“There’s no more reason for me to go home every day and there’s no reason for me to celebrate Christmas because my kids and my wife is no longer with me. I don’t have time to celebrate right now. I feel so weak and it’s really painful. I’m sorry Umma”

“Sweetheart, I know…”

Kyuhyun hangs up. Mrs. Cho calls him again, but Kyuhyun just rejects it. Kyuhyun places his mobile phone on top of his desk. He stands up and starts throwing all his things away from the table. He starts throwing every single thing, releasing all his pain and anger towards his self. He wants to scream, but there are no words coming out from his mouth. He punches the wall as hard as he can, causing his right hand to bleed. Kyuhyun sits at the corner. He hugs his knee and buries his face on it as he starts crying hard

“Umma, where is Key?”

“I don’t know sweetheart, why?”

Sungmin just shook her head and starts looking for her son. She saw the main door slightly open. She walks carefully towards the door and take a peek. She saw his son sitting at the doorway. She carefully goes out and sits beside Kibum

“Honey, what are you doing here outside?”

“I’m waiting for daddy”

Kibum grabs his mother’s wrist to check the time

“He’s just late mommy. Daddy will be here any minute”

Sungmin stares at Kibum sadly. She notice the tears that are forming in her son’s eyes

“Daddy will not be here today”

Sungmin whispers to him. Kibum shook his head

“I know that daddy will be here any minute. He will be here mommy. You’ll see”

Kibum flashes a weak smile. He stares at the sky while watching the stars to avoid his tears from falling

“You know mommy? I just have one wish this Christmas”

Sungmin notice the tears that slowly falls from her son’s eyes

“I just want you and daddy to be together again”

Kibum looks at his mother and hugs her tight

“Mommy, I want to go home now. I know you still hate daddy, but daddy needs us. He needs us and I’m so sad because this is the first Christmas that we’re not spending it to him. I really miss our house and I miss daddy so much. Mommy, please…let’s go home now. Daddy loves you, please believe him. Let’s go home mommy”

Sungmin didn’t answer. She doesn’t know what to say. She just hugs her son tightly, trying to calm him

“I’m sorry honey”

“Mommy, please…this is enough, don’t make it hard for all of us. It’s already painful…so painful”

Sungmin wipes Kibum’s tears

“We’re going to call daddy, please don’t cry anymore”

Sungmin dials Kyuhyun’s number before giving her mobile phone to Kibum

“Yeoboseo”

Kibum’s tears start falling from his eyes again upon hearing Kyuhyun’s voice

“Dad…dy”

Kibum’s voice starts trembling because of crying

“Honey, are you ok? Why are you crying?”

“I miss you so much daddy. I want to go home now. Please tell mommy that we need to go home now. I already want to stay at the house with you again. I can’t live far away from you daddy. I’m so sad because we’re not together. This is the first Christmas that I’m not with you”

Kyuhyun controls his tears from falling

“I’m sorry honey. Mommy is not yet ready to move here again. Just wait for her to get ready. Be patient, Arasso?”

“But why? Mommy is your wife, but why? Daddy, why do mommy and you need to do this? We’re family, right? But why are you fighting like this? I thought everything is ok now, but why? Daddy, it’s Christmas. You and mommy should reconcile now”

Kibum starts crying so hard

“Honey…”

Kyuhyun’s heart is breaking into pieces hearing his son crying so hard, begging him to bring them home with him

“I want to go home daddy…please fulfill my Christmas wish”

Kyuhyun’s throat is already aching because of controlling his tears from falling. He takes a deep breath and starts singing a sweet lullaby to calm his son who is crying so hard. Kibum stops crying when he heard Kyuhyun singing. He wipes his tears and listens to his father’s sweet and calm voice

“Honey, are you still crying?”

Kibum shook his head

“Listen to daddy ok?”

“Ok”

Kyuhyun clears his throat so he can speak clearly

“Mommy needs you by her side at time like this. Remember what I told you before?”

“Yes daddy”

“I told you to be a good boy always. Being a good boy means you should not make mommy cry and worried about you. You’re making mommy worried and sad because you’re crying, so you need to stop crying now so mommy won’t be sad and worried, Arasso?”

Kibum nods

“Of course daddy is also sad whenever you cry. You’re a big boy now. You’re going to be an Oppa soon, so you need to stop being a crybaby. I always told you to watch over mommy and your baby sister and you must take care of them, especially if daddy is not around. Don’t be sad anymore…”

Kyuhyun stops talking, to wipe his tears. He coughs to control his voice from trembling so Kibum will not know that he’s already crying

“I know that we’re not together this night, celebrating Christmas with you, baby Lock and mommy. It’s really sad because we’re apart from each other. I want you to hold your heart and feel your heart beat”

Kibum obeys his father

“Can you feel it now?”

“Yes daddy”

“Close your eyes honey”

Kibum closes his eyes

“I already close my eyes daddy”

“Just think of the Christmas seasons that we spend together. Those happy memories that we spend together. Just think about it honey. Mommy and daddy love you so much. We don’t want you to be sad. I hope while you’re feeling your heart beat and thinking about the Christmas seasons that we spend together as a family will make you happy. Honey, my presence might not be there but my heart is always there with you, baby Lock and mommy. Absence is not the reason to be sad. You just need to remember that we love you so much. We might not be together this night, but when you look at the sky, you’ll realize that we’re together because we’re living under one sky. No matter how far you are to me, we’re always together under one sky. Merry Christmas honey, I love you so much”

“I love you too honey”

“No more crying ok?”

“Ok”

Kibum slowly opens his eyes and look at the sky

“Daddy, the stars are so bright. Can you see it?”

“Of course I can. Don’t be sad honey, I promise to make it up to you later in the afternoon. Maybe mommy will allow me to spend Christmas with you”

“Arasso”

“Can you give the phone to your mommy? I just need to talk to her and please go to sleep now. It’s already late at night”

“Arasso”

Kibum gives the mobile phone back to Sungmin

“Daddy is still on the line. He wants to talk to you mommy”

Sungmin gets her mobile phone. Kibum hugs her and kiss her lips

“I’m going to sleep now. Please go inside after you talk to daddy. It’s getting cold mommy. You might catch a fever. I love you and Merry Christmas”

“Thanks honey”

Sungmin kissed her son’s lips. Kibum waves his hand and went inside to sleep. Sungmin takes a deep breath before talking to her husband

“Yes Kyu?”

Kyuhyun somehow flashes a smile upon hearing his wife’s sweet voice

“Minnie, I just want to ask for you permission. Can I fetch our son later in the afternoon? I just want to spend Christmas with him, even just for a little time. If you want you can join us”

“Just fetch Key here later”

“Thank you…baby”

“Hmmm?”

Sungmin bites her lips to control her tears from falling

“Merry Christmas and I love you so much”

“Merry Christmas Kyu and thank you for loving me so much”

“Go to sleep now. It’s really late at night”

“How about you?”

Kyuhyun shook his head

“I’m not yet home”

“Where are you?”

“Still in my office, I’ll just go home when the sun already rises. Go to sleep now. I love you Minnie. I always do”

“Good night Kyu”

“Good night baby”

Sungmin hangs up. She stares at the sky

“Why is it so hard?”

Sungmin whispers as tears start falling slowly from her eyes

Sungmin was watching her son sleeping peacefully beside her. She his hair gently

“Honey, I’m sorry. I know that you’re already having a hard time. Sorry because I’m keeping my pride on top. I just want your daddy to learn and realize our importance. I’m really sorry if I’m hurting you badly, but please understand me ok. I don’t want you to hate me and daddy. We love you so much and of course your baby sister. Daddy and I love both of you so much”

Sungmin rubs her tummy, feeling her baby moving inside

“Do you also miss daddy? I’m sorry Mihee honey. Just give mommy some time. We’re going back home soon”

Sungmin immediately wipes her tears when someone enters her room. It was Mrs. Lee

“Umma…”

Mrs. Lee sits beside her

“Why are you still awake?”

Sungmin asks her mother

“I’m about to sleep sweetheart. I just want to check you and my grandchildren”

Mrs. Lee cups her daughter’s beautiful face and wipes the tears at the corner of her eyes. She stares at Sungmin’s puffy eyes sadly

“Kyu is the only person who can stop your tears from falling. You need to go back to him. He deserves a second chance sweetheart”

“I know, but not now”

“Why are you doing this?”

“I just want him to realize our importance”

Mrs. Lee holds her daughter’s hands

“Minnie, don’t measure your husband’s love like this. That boy loves you so much. Don’t let good memories passed by. I know you have pride, but you need to put it down now. He already proves you that he deserves a second chance and he’s already paying the price of hurting you. What else do still want? He already says sorry hundred times. He already begs and cries in front of you for so many times. You even let him stay outside in the cold weather. He waits for you, but you didn’t even go out to talk to him that’s why he ends up sleeping inside his car and having a cold the next day. Why are you making it hard for him?”

Sungmin didn’t answer

“Sweetheart, that’s enough. Stop being selfish, you’re not only hurting yourself but also your husband and kids. All of you will suffer if you will continue to put your pride on top. Forgive Kyu and accept him in your life again before it’s too late. I don’t want you to regret it sweetheart. A mistake can’t be correct by another mistake”

Mrs. Lee pats Sungmin’s cheek

“I don’t want to see you sad like that. Kyu is the only person that can make you happy. Go back to him, please. He’s waiting for you. All you need to do is go back in his arms again. I didn’t raise a stubborn daughter”

Mrs. Lee kissed Sungmin’s forehead

“Go to sleep now. I love you”

“I love you too Umma”

Mrs. Lee hugs Sungmin before going out of the room. Sungmin lay down on the bed. She hugs her son tightly and slowly closes her eyes while, thinking about Kyuhyun until she finally falls asleep

NEXT DAY…

“DADDY!!!”

Kibum runs happily towards his father. Kyuhyun hugs Kibum

“How are you? You look so happy”

Kibum nods happily

“I’m happy because I’m going out with you and mommy”

Kyuhyun stares at his wife who is talking to his mother in law. He smiles brightly while staring at her

“How did you persuade mommy to go with us?”

Kibum asks Kyuhyun

“I didn’t persuade her. I just told her that she can come if she wants”

“Where are we going daddy?”

“We’re going to have lunch first at home because your grandparents are there”

Kibum flashes a wide smile

“Really?”

He asks his Father excitedly. Kyuhyun answers him with a nod. Kibum claps his hands

“It’s good to hear that. I already miss them daddy”

“They also miss you. After spending lunch with them at home, we will go at any places you want to visit. But please behave, Arasso?”

“Ok. I promise to behave”

Kyuhyun kissed his son’s lips and ruffles his hair happily. Sungmin walks towards them with Mrs. Lee

“Are we going now?”

Kyuhyun nods at her. He stands up, carrying his son on his arms. Sungmin looks at her mother

“Umma, are you sure that you’ll be ok?”

“Don’t worry about me sweetheart. Hyukkie, Hae and Minho will be back soon”

Kyuhyun looks at his mother in law

“You can come with us so you won’t be alone here. I’m sure Umma and Appa will be very happy to see you”

Mrs. Lee shook her head and smiles at Kyuhyun

“I’m ok sweetheart. Don’t worry about me. Your brother in law will be back soon. They just go out and shop around”

“But Umma”

“I’m fine. I’m not a kid anymore. I can take care of myself”

“Just give us a call if you have problem, Arasso?”

Mrs. Lee nods at her son in law

“I’ll drop your baby girl and your naughty grandson later. I’m just going to borrow them for awhile. Don’t worry because I will take care of them”

Mrs. Lee nods at him

“You should go now. Be back safe”

“Arasso Umma”

Kyuhyun kissed Mrs. Lee’s cheek before holding his wife’s hand. Sungmin and Kibum waves their hand as they went out with Kyuhyun

Mrs. Cho immediately hugs Sungmin upon seeing her

“I miss you so much sweetheart”

Mrs. Cho kissed her cheek. Kyuhyun pulls his wife away from his mother because Mrs. Cho is squeezing Sungmin so hard

“Umma, you’re not planning to kill my baby and my baby daughter right?”

“Oops…sorry, I’m just excited to see her again”

Sungmin smiles at her mother in law. Mrs. Cho rubs Sungmin’s tummy

“So, it’s really a baby girl?”

Sungmin nods happily

“Kyu shows us the ultrasound picture awhile ago”

Mrs. Cho smiles brightly at Sungmin who stares at Kyuhyun

“You left it at the car last time”

“I see”

Mrs. Cho looks at Kibum who is happily playing with Dog and Mr. Cho

“I miss him so much”

Sungmin notice the tears that are forming in Mrs. Cho’s eyes

“Umma”

Mrs. Cho wipes the tears that fall from her eyes. She holds Sungmin’s beautiful face

“I’m sorry sweetheart. Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. I’m just happy that you’re here and Key. I’m also happy knowing that I’ll have a granddaughter soon. I really hope that you’ll be back here with the kids. I hope Kyu and you will be together again”

Mrs. Cho brushes her fingers on Sungmin’s face. Sungmin wipes her mother in law’s tears and hugs her

“Umma, let’s not talk about that ok. Let’s just celebrate Christmas happily”

“Arasso”

Mrs. Cho smiles at her and holds her hands

“Let’s go at the dining room now. I cooked a lot so you need all of them. I also made your favorite dessert”

“Thanks Umma”

Mrs. Cho looks at her son

“Just follow ok”

Kyuhyun nods at his mother. Mrs. Cho holds her daughter in law’s hand as they start walking carefully towards the dining room. Kyuhyun looks at his son who is happily playing with his father and Dog

“Key honey! Appa!”

They look at Kyuhyun

“Lunch is ready. Let’s go now”

Mr. Cho carries his grandson and follows Kyuhyun inside the dining room wherein they eat their lunch together and peacefully. Mrs. Cho puts a lot of food on Sungmin’s plate

“Umma, don’t feed Minnie that much”

“Sweetheart, pregnant woman eats a lot. Of course she needs to eat a lot because she’s also feeding your baby girl”

Sungmin just laughs softly. Kyuhyun starts feeding Kibum, but he grabs the fork away from Kyuhyun

“Daddy, I can eat alone. You’re the one who told me yesterday that I’m already a big boy. I’m going to be an Oppa soon, so I need to eat on my own now”

“Arasso master. That’s good”

Kyuhyun smiles and ruffles his son’s hair happily

“So…”

Mrs. Cho takes a sip on her wine before continuing

“When are you going to give birth Minnie?”

“February, but I still don’t know the exact date. I need to talk to my OB to ask for my labor days”

Mrs. Cho claps her hands

“Aigoo! I hope the baby will be born same day as Kyuhyun-ah. That will be great, right honey?”

Mr. Cho nods happily

“What’s the name of the baby?”

“Cho Mihee”

“Mihee and Minnie…they sound the same, but I love it”

Mr. Cho told Sungmin while smiling at her

“We’re living after your birthday sweetheart. But we promise to be back before first week of February. We want to be here when you give birth. Just in case your husband doesn’t know what to do again”

“APPA!!!”

Kyuhyun pouts at his father

“Of course I know what to do next time. I’ll immediately bring Minnie to the hospital. I’ll make sure that I won’t panic anymore”

Mr. Cho just smiles at his son. He holds his daughter in law’s hand

“Thank you for being with us today and of course Key and Mihee. Thank you Minnie”

“Appa, don’t thank me. It’s really good to see you and Umma again”

“We love you sweetheart”

“I love you too and Umma”

“And Kyu loves you as well”

Kyuhyun suddenly blush. Sungmin just smiles at him before continue eating her lunch

Kyuhyun and Sungmin went at the field of their house with Kibum who is holding their hands tightly because Kyuhyun put his son a blindfold. He wants to surprise his son with his Christmas gift for him

“Daddy, are we there yet?”

“Few more steps honey”

Kyuhyun stops and kneels down behind his son

“Are you ready to see daddy’s gift for you?”

Kibum nods happily

“I’ll remove your blindfold now”

Kyuhyun carefully removes his son’s blindfold. Kibum smiles brightly upon seeing the Red Beard’s Revenge Pirate Ship Playhouse in front of him

“It’s really for me daddy?”

“Yes honey”

Kibum kissed Kyuhyun’s lips

“Thanks daddy”

Kibum was about to run inside the Playhouse when Kyuhyun holds his arm

“Wait a second honey. There’s more”

“More”

Kyuhyun nods at him and points his finger happily at the junior classic corvette

“Grandma and grandpa’s gift for you”

Kibum claps his hands happily and run towards his car. He went inside

“Can I drive?”

“I’ll teach you first”

“Can I make baby Lock as my passenger?”

“When she grows up”

Kibum smiles and went out of his car. He went immediately inside his Playhouse and starts playing happily on his own

“Honey”

“Yes daddy?”

“Stay here. Don’t go anywhere. I’m just going to show mommy something”

Kibum nods happily. Kyuhyun smiles at his wife who is staring at him blankly

“I’m going to show you something. It’s for baby Lock”

He holds Sungmin’s hand as they go back inside the house. Kyuhyun happily drags Sungmin inside a room. Sungmin’s eyes widened in surprise and excitement upon seeing the nursery room for Mihee. Everything is color pink. The wallpaper, lights, crib, carpet, dresser, pillow, blanket, everything. Sungmin smiles brightly upon entering a walk-in closet and was surprise to see a lot of baby stuffs and clothes

“What do you think? Do you think our baby girl will love her nursery room?”

Kyuhyun asks Sungmin while hugging her from behind

“I love the room so much. Everything is pink, can I just sleep here?”

“This room is not for you. It’s for baby Lock”

Sungmin pouts

“But I want a pink room too. Just like my room when I’m not yet married to you”

Sungmin turns around to face her husband. She wraps her arms around Kyuhyun’s neck

“Maybe we can change our room into pink. That will be great”

“No”

Sungmin frowns at him

“I’m sorry baby, but I really find it so weird for a husband and wife to have a pink room”

Kyuhyun brushes his nose from hers

“I have an idea. Maybe I’ll just ask Hae to build a pink house for you in Australia. A rest house in Australia will be just fine and everything will be pink just for you. It will be my birthday present to you, what do you think?”

Sungmin shook her head

“No thanks”

“Why no thanks?”

“It’s just that I don’t want you to spend a lot for me. That’s all”

Sungmin starts walking around again

“Mihee, you’re going to be a Princess. I swear your nursery room is really beautiful. It seems that your daddy spend a lot for this room”

Sungmin told her baby while rubbing her tummy. She went out of the closet and sits on the pink nursery rocking chair

“I suddenly feel so excited to see you Mihee”

Sungmin smiles while rubbing her tummy. Kyuhyun walks towards her and kneels in front of Sungmin while holding a box. He gives the box to Sungmin while smiling at her

“What is it?”

“That’s for you baby. Just open it and you’ll find out”

Sungmin opens the box and smiles upon seeing a soft pink Marie Antoinette shoes design. It’s a luxury shoes design by Christian Louboutin and Jean- Francoise Lesage

“Wow”

“Like it?”

“I love it”

Sungmin smiles while staring at her shoes.

“You can wear your new heels after you give birth and…”

“And?”

Kyuhyun stands up and get something in his pocket. He stands behind Sungmin and puts a heart shape ruby necklace around her neck

“I want you to wear that everyday so you’ll know that my heart is with you always…only for you”

Kyuhyun kissed her cheek before kneeling in front of his wife again. He takes the shoes away and put it down on the floor.  He leans his head on his wife’s tummy, feeling the baby moving inside

“Hi my baby Lock, are you happy seeing your nursery room”

Kyuhyun smiles while talking to the baby inside Sungmin’s womb

“A few more months and we’re already going to see you. I hope you’ll like your nursery room as much as your mommy loves it. I love you honey and I’m really excited for your arrival. I’m really looking forward to it”

Kyuhyun kissed his wife’s tummy before leaning his head back to Sungmin’s tummy, hearing his baby. Sungmin his hair gently

“Thank you Kyu”

“You don’t need to thank me. Mihee is our baby. I’m just doing my job as a father. I want her to be happy as soon as you give birth to her”

“Of course Mihee is already happy knowing that she had a great daddy like you. Even though she’s still in my womb, I know that our baby girl is already happy”

“And she will be happier if her Oppa and hard headed mommy will finally go back here in the house with her daddy”

“Ok. That’s a different story Kyu”

Kyuhyun pouts at Sungmin

“Baby, how long do you plan to hold your grudge against me? I’m going crazy every day, don’t you know that?”

“How come you’re not yet in the mental hospital?”

“Yah! Is that a joke or what? Aigoo! So, you really want me to go in the mental hospital before you go back here? That was so harsh. Come on Minnie. Please, what do you want me to do? I try everything that I can just to convince you. I hold my temper every time your fishy brother throws a fight with me. I just let him hit me because I want him to know that I’m willing to accept his every punch just for you and beside Hae is my best friend. I don’t want us fighting like this”

Kyuhyun looks at his wife sadly

“Just go back now. I don’t know how to live my life every day. I wake up in the morning feeling so lonely because I’m all alone. I don’t even have an appetite because I’m all alone eating my breakfast and dinner. The worst part is I’m going home in an empty house and sleeping alone. Don’t do this to me baby”

Sungmin raises her eyebrow

“Why not call your other woman to accompany you here? She will be happy for sure and she’s willing to be your wife”

“Hey, don’t start it”

“Start what? I’m just giving you an option so you won’t feel sad anymore”

Kyuhyun’s tears start forming in his eyes. He feels so hurt hearing those words from his wife

“Fine. I won’t argue with you anymore. If that’s what you want. I’ll just wait for you to change your mind and come back here again. Just don’t hurt me like this”

“What? I’m hurting you? Oh come on Kyu. Will you please…”

Sungmin has been cut when Kyuhyun’s mobile phone rings

“Yeoboseo”

“Hey Kyu, where are you?”

Kyuhyun was surprise to hear Donghae’s voice

“Home with Minnie and Key. We have lunch with Umma and Appa and we’re about to go somewhere, why?”

“I’m sorry to ruin your family day and Christmas celebration, but I really want you to go here at Seoul National University Hospital. I need you now”

“Why?”

“You’ll know it later. Just get your here now. Just drop Key and Minnie at home”

“Arasso. I’ll be right there after I drop Key and Minnie in your house”

“Hurry up ok?”

“Arasso”

Kyuhyun hangs up. Sungmin stares at him curiously

“Baby, we need to go. I need to drop you and Key back to Hae’s house. I need to meet him at Seoul National University Hospital. I think it’s urgent”

“Why?”

Kyuhyun shook his head

“He just told me to go there now”

“I’m going with you”

“No. You need to stay at Hae’s house and take a rest for the baby. It will be bad for you if you’ll come with me”

“But…”

Kyuhyun holds her lips to stop her from talking

“Shhh. I’m your husband so you need to follow me. Don’t be hard headed girl”

“Arasso”

“Let’s go”

Kyuhyun helps Sungmin to stand and they went out of the nursery room carefully

Kyuhyun drops Kibum and Sungmin back at Donghae’s house

“Kyu, do you have any idea why Hae went at Seoul National University Hospital?”

Hyuk Jae asks Kyuhyun curiously

“He didn’t tell me. What really happen? His voice sounds like something went wrong”

“Well, someone calls him awhile ago. He didn’t tell me who the caller is. He just told me to stay here with Minho and Umma and wait for Key and Minnie. He also told me that he will go at Seoul National University Hospital. I’m just worried because he looks so nervous”

“I’m going now”

Hyuk Jae nods at him. Kyuhyun kneel down to have the same level to his son

“I’m sorry honey. Daddy will just make it up to you next time. Uncle Hae needs me”

“It’s ok daddy. I understand and I’m already happy having lunch with grandma and grandpa”

“Watch over mommy”

“Ok”

Kyuhyun kissed his lips. He stands up and looks at Sungmin

“Stay here”

“Be safe”

“I will”

Kyuhyun kissed her before going out of the house. Sungmin stares at Hyuk Jae and Mrs. Lee nervously

“I have a bad feeling about it”

“Me too”

Hyuk Jae told Sungmin. She stares at Sungmin and notice her scared face. Hyuk Jae hugs her sister in law

“Don’t worry honey dear. Everything will be fine”

“I hope so Unnie…I really hope so”

*SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL*

Kyuhyun arrives at the hospital. He immediately went at the morgue and found Donghae outside talking to private investigators and police officers

“Hae, what’s wrong?”

Donghae stares at Kyuhyun who just arrive

“Kyu…”

Kyuhyun can see frustration and sadness in Donghae’s face. He also notice the tears that are forming at the corner of his best friend’s eyes

“Is there something wrong Hae?”

Donghae takes a deep breath before answering him

“Hara and Appa are dead”

Kyuhyun’s eyes widened. He feels like his body freezes because of the news. He doesn’t know if he will be happy or sad about it

“Ho….ho…w?”

Kyuhyun’s voice starts trembling

“Appa’s house burned awhile ago. I don’t know what exactly happen. The private investigators and police officers just…”

Donghae holds his forehead, rubbing his temple

“They just call me informing me to go here immediately”

“Are you sure about it?”

“The DNA result is positive”

Donghae sits on the chair

“I really can’t believe it. This is just a nightmare right? I mean Kyu, he’s still my father and my sister”

Kyuhyun sits beside Donghae

“Are you really sure about it Hae?”

“I don’t know. Two bodies have been recovered, but…but…we have a lot of helpers at that house. How come only two bodies are recovered? I can’t understand it. They say that other bodies might have been buried along with the house. I don’t know if I will believe this, but the DNA result is positive. It’s really Appa and Hara”

“It’s really hard to believe. I also have a second thought about this incident. What if this is part of their plan?”

“That’s also what I’m thinking right know but…”

Donghae stares at Kyuhyun

“Are they really evil for them to burn the house along with innocent people?”

“You know your father. He will do everything to win”

“This is a major problem and how are we going to tell this to Minnie and Umma?”

“I don’t know…where are the bodies?”

“Cremation center. Aish! This whole thing is really a head ache”

“We need to arrange their funeral as soon as possible after all Appa is still my father in law and Hara is still my sister in law. Even though they did something evil to us, they still deserve a proper funeral. I’ll handle it”

“Thank you Kyu”

Kyuhyun pats Donghae’s shoulder

“You’re still my best friend and brother in law, right?”

“If that’s what you think then its fine with me”

Kyuhyun just nods at him and gets his mobile phone inside his pocket to call his personal assistant for the funeral of his father in law and sister in law

Hyuk Jae hugs her mother in law who is already crying hard on the floor upon hearing the news

“Is it really them?”

Sungmin asks her brother and husband who nod at her

“This is not happening right? I mean…”

Sungmin sits on the sofa and buries her face on her palms as she starts sobbing. Kyuhyun sits beside her. He wraps his arm around her shoulder as Sungmin rest her head on his chest

“Why? Come on. Maybe the DNA test in not accurate”

Sungmin told Kyuhyun

“Baby, I’m sorry. I know that you’re sad about it, but it’s really them”

“No. They are not death…they…”

Sungmin starts to panic. Kyuhyun holds his wife’s face between his hands

“What if they are just hiding somewhere or…”

“Shhh, Minnie stop being paranoid”

“I don’t believe it Kyu. I really had a bad feeling about this. Look, they are missing for a long time and now they will find them dead? What the ing is going on here? I…I…I think…”

Sungmin holds her tummy

“Baby, are you ok?”

Kyuhyun asks her worriedly. Sungmin takes a deep breath and nods at him

“I’m fine…it’s just that…”

She holds her husband hand and squeezes it hard

“Ouch! Minnie, what’s wrong with you?”

“Baby…my tummy is aching so badly…it’s so painful”

“What? Oh my goodness Minnie, don’t give birth”

Kyuhyun starts to panic. Donghae run towards his sister

“Honey dear, wait a second. Tell your baby not to go out. It’s not yet time. I mean…Aigoo! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO KYU?”

“I don’t know. Don’t ask me. I’m not a doctor”

“HYUKKIE!!!”

Donghae shouts. Hyuk Jae and Mrs. Lee run towards them

“We need to bring her to her doctor”

Mrs. Lee told them. Kyuhyun and Sungmin shook their head

“Minnie’s doctor is in holiday. She’s having a vacation with her husband and kids at New York”

Kyuhyun told his mother in law nervously

“Guys, please stop panicking. I’m not an OB, but I’ll try my best to help honey dear. Just give her room to breathe ok?”

Kyuhyun and Donghae stand at the corner. Hyuk Jae kneels in front of her sister in law

“Honey dear, listen to me”

Sungmin nods at her

“The baby is not yet arriving right?”

“But my tummy is aching already”

“Just don’t think that the baby is arriving. I mean take that away from your mind. It’s just a normal contraction because you’re stressing yourself again”

Hyuk Jae holds Sungmin’s hand

“Close your eyes and start breathing…Inhale, exhale ok?”

Sungmin nods and obeys her sister in law. She closes her eyes and starts breathing along with Hyuk Jae

“That’s good. Just keep doing it. I’ll breathe with you. Just relax. The pain will go away soon”

Sungmin and Hyuk Jae continue to do the process. Kyuhyun looks at Donghae who is standing beside him, imitating what Hyuk Jae and Sungmin are doing

“What the ing are you doing Hae?”

Donghae stares at Kyuhyun nervously

“I’m breathing with them?”

“Why?”

“You know what? It feels like I’m the one who’s giving birth here. I mean, that was so scary. It’s good that I’m not a girl or else I’ll be death by now because of pregnancy contractions”

“Whatever fish”

Kyuhyun give Donghae a weird glare before focusing his attention back to his wife. Mrs. Lee went at the kitchen to get cold glass of water and immediately go back at the living room and gives the glass of cold water to her daughter. Sungmin drinks it

“Feeling better now?”

Hyuk Jae asks Sungmin nervously. Sungmin nods at her. Everyone sigh in relief. Hyuk Jae sits on the floor

“Thank goodness. I almost die. I think my soul is already traveling at the outer space”

Hyuk Jae takes a deep breath

“You should take a warm bath and go to sleep after so you can already take a rest. Don’t stress yourself like this or we all die because of nervousness”

Hyuk Jae stares at Kyuhyun

“Kyuhyun-ah, it’s your job now. Help Minnie in having a warm bath then put her to sleep, Arasso?”

“Thanks Hyukkie”

“No problem”

Kyuhyun and Donghae help Sungmin to stand up and carry her upstairs

“Umma, I think…I need to drink a cold water too to bring back my soul. I feel like I’m floating on air because of nervousness. That was so scary. I thought honey dear will already give birth”

“Me too”

Hyuk Jae hugs her mother in law and wipes her tears away

“Umma, we’re still here for you. I know how hard it is for you to lose Appa. But you need to be strong. We all need to be strong. We still need you, especially honey dear. You still need to guide your baby girl in her dilemma right now”

Hyuk Jae hugs her mother in law tight

“It’s ok Umma, just cry. Let’s go at the kitchen and eat some Belgian chocolates and drink water and cry together”

Hyuk Jae wipes Mrs. Lee’s tears and start pulling her towards the kitchen

Kyuhyun went downstairs after putting his wife to sleep. He saw Donghae sitting at the living room, spacing out while holding a glass of wine

“Hae?”

Donghae looks at him                                                                          

“Kyu, want to join me?”

Donghae raises his glass of wine. Kyuhyun sits beside him

“I’ll just get a glass for you”

Kyuhyun holds Donghae’s arm

“It’s ok Hae. I’m about to go home now”

“How’s Minnie?”

“She’s already sleeping peacefully”

Donghae nod and drinks his wine

“So, what are you thinking?”

Kyuhyun asks Donghae without looking at him

“Tomorrow is the funeral. I really think Appa is playing a trick here. We still need to be careful Kyu. I know I sound like paranoid, but we still need to be careful. I really had a doubt about their death”

“Me too”

“Even though Umma doesn’t want to believe me, but I really think that it’s part of Appa’s plan. We need to be very careful Kyu”

Kyuhyun nods

“I’m going now. Umma and Appa will be at the funeral tomorrow. Please take care of my wife, son and daughter. I’m sorry for all the trouble, but once Minnie already make up her mind. I’m going to bring them home immediately”

Donghae punches Kyuhyun’s arm

“Ouch!”

Kyuhyun rubs his arm

“She really cancels the divorce huh?”

“That’s what she told me”

“Honey dear is really crazy”

Donghae drinks his wine, finishing it up

“That girl loves you so much Kyu. What can I do? It’s her life. I still hate you for hurting my honey dear. You know that I love her so much”

“I know and stop drinking because you’re already tipsy”

Kyuhyun steal the bottle of wine away from Donghae

“I’m not tipsy. Pabo!”

Donghae flicks Kyuhyun’s forehead

“I really hate you Kyu. I really do, but if honey dear loves you then it’s fine”

Donghae puts down his glass on the table

“Just stay here and take care of honey dear. That girl needs you. She just doesn’t want to admit it. But it doesn’t mean that we’re already in good term. You’re my brother in law and best friend. That will remain forever, but we’re not yet in good term. I just want you to stay for my honey dear Minnie. I’m going to sleep now. Hyukkie honey is already waiting for me”

Donghae smiles at Kyuhyun

“If you know what I mean”

Donghae winks at Kyuhyun

“Pabo!”

Kyuhyun hits Donghae with a pillow

“You’re such a ert !”

“Whatever Kyuhyun-ah. Don’t forget that we’re not yet in good term. I still hate you, Arasso”

“Arasso”

Donghae kissed Kyuhyun’s lips and stuck his tongue out before running upstairs

“Yeah right. We’re not yet in good term, but you already dare to kiss me. He’s not tipsy because he will not kiss me if he is tipsy”

Kyuhyun smile

“He’s really a childish gay, but I miss him so much, especially when he bothers me like this”

Kyuhyun sighs and went upstairs to sleep with Sungmin
