​One Year Ago

"L, over here!" It was Sungyeol's voice that he heard across the auditorium as he walked in through the double-doors. There was a large crowd of new students flooding the room. It was orientation day for the 1st year students of Seoul High School.

"Who else is here?" L said as he walked closer to him, fixing his tie and adjusting his black school bag over his shoulder.

"We are." Without looking L already knew who it was. Just like Sungyeol, this person had a voice he could recognize almost anywhere. He turned around to face him.

"Hoya" they clapped each other’s hand into a handshake, "here already?"

"We've been here." It was a different voice now came from behind Hoya. It was Nam Woohyun, a fellow classmate of L's back in middle school and even though they weren’t as close as L was with Hoya and Sungyeol, they were still considered friends by association since they do hang around the same people.

"How long?" Sungyeol was always interested in the little details.

"About 15 minutes or so, we came to check on how the school looked-"

"And how their female students looked." Hoya cut in and flashed a devilish grin after he finished his sentence.

The guys laughed and Sungyeol asked, "Seen anyone interesting yet?"

"Not yet. So far all of the girls here are pretty average, no standouts." After hearing Woohyun's words L considered it for a moment.

L was by far the most handsome student among the males, a fact known by almost everyone and although he is incredibly popular amongst both male and female students he only has a handful of close friends that he can truly depend on.

"So playboy, see anyone you like?" Of course, there was that.

Hoya had reminded him of what he had almost forgotten: His playboy image which followed him from his elementary/middle school days. It always brought on a slight form of unwanted negative attention towards him. This reputation of his made him misunderstood amongst females and even though he wasn’t completely comfortable with it... he still played along with it.
