ONE DAY

“Yah! Myungsoo oppa, let’s play hide and seek,” suggested the 5 year old girl, Kim Young Mi. “Sure, dongseang,” smiled the 6 year old boy, Kim Myungsoo, at his youngest sister. “Me too,” giggles the other 5 year old girl, Kim Sung Mi. Myungsoo counted while the girls hid. “….9….10! Ready or not, I am going to eat you when I find you!”

The girls hid behind the bush but couldn’t stop giggling. “Shhhhh…” they whispered to each other. “AHA! Got you two!” laughed Myungsoo victoriously. The girls pouted and Myungsoo noticed. He leaned in and kissed each of them on the nose. This caused the girls to wipe their noses and say, “Ewwwwwww! Nah, we love you, oppa.” “My turn to hide,” said Myungsoo and the girls covered their eyes as they counted.

Myungsoo hid behind the same bush. “…8…9...10! Ready or not, dinner here we come!” said the girls. They started walking towards the tree and looked behind it… nothing. The twins looked up in the tree branches… nothing. They heard a rustle and a laugh coming from the bush. They crept towards the bush quietly.

Myungsoo saw the girls and got scared. ‘Oh no! I wish that I could get out of here,’ he thought. Myungsoo closed his eyes and kept thinking of going somewhere else as he heard his sisters walk closer and closer to the bush. He heard their giggling grow louder when suddenly, he heard quiet instead of his sisters’ giggling.

He opened his eyes and didn’t see the backyard of the orphanage… but a garden and a big white mansion. Myungsoo looked around and got scared and started crying. He cried and cried until a lady saw him. “Omo! Are you lost?” asked the lady patiently. “Yes ma'am,” cried Myungsoo. “Oh come here and we’ll call your parents,” as the lady invited him into the mansion. There was a boy sitting at the dining table eating.

“Sit here and I will be back. This is my 7 year old son, Lee Ho Won,” said the lady as she left Myungsoo at the dining table. “Hello,” wave the boy. Myungsoo sniffed before saying, “Hi my name is Kim Myungsoo. It’s nice to meet you Ho Won.” “Call me Hoya instead,” said the boy smiling. Myungsoo nodded
