Never Let Go - A-JAX (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22hfMwgcJpc)     ---------------------- Narrator’s P.O.V:     In just precisely thirty minutes of walking and riding the subway, the pair arrived at a large building. Daehyun still couldn’t get over the fact that Hana had never ridden a subway train before. She had gotten so excited when she had scanned her card and the gateway opened for her.   He supressed a smile and glanced over at Hana, “Is this the place?”   But Daehyun’s smile gradually died out when he saw her somber looking expression.   “…Hana?”   She didn’t turn to him or fake a smile, but rather exhaled calmly.   “Yup, this is it.”   Daehyun followed her gaze to the rusty plaque at the front that read Ju____ O_p_an_____.   He squinted his eyes, “Ju… Opan…?”   “It’s Juwon Orphanage.” Hana explained. “Ever since I was here, some idiots stole the gold letters of the plaque. Then again, people will do anything for money.” Her gaze was hazy.   Daehyun kept his mouth shut, since he could tell that she was being serious.   “…Come.” Her voice was firm, but quiet.   “Hm?”   “Come inside.”   Daehyun felt like he had no right to be there, and didn’t want to invade her privacy. “Hana…”   “…I need you to come with me. Please.” Her face was emotionless, but her hands were shaking at her sides.   Softening, Daehyun slipped his hand into hers. It felt like the most human thing to do at that time. Without even daring to look at Hana’s expression, in fear that he would get even more embarrassed than he already was, Daehyun led her inside.   Hana lightly pushed the doors open when Daehyun tried to knock. “It’s pointless to knock. The building’s—“   “Empty,” Daehyun finished for her in shock. It was true. The orphanage had no kids running around, and no supervisors. A strange chill ran down his spine at the thick silence.   Knowing this all already, Hana tugged slightly on Daehyun’s warm hand, and was soon guiding him to a room.   “But, why? Why is it empty?” His voice echoed off the walls, giving a spooky feeling when he merely murmured something.   “It’s going to be torn down in a month. That’s why.”   Soon, Daehyun found himself standing in front of a musty door. With the tiniest push, the door creaked open to reveal a bunk bed and a pretty neat room. It looked as if it was unharmed by the dustiness of the hallways just outside.   In deep thought, Hana pulled Daehyun towards the bunk bed. A melancholy expression crossed her face.   “I slept here, if I remember correctly.” She pointed to the top bunk. “…Well, that’s what the head of the orphanage had told me last time when I returned to visit just two years ago.”   Daehyun stared at the top bunk and smiled a bit when he imagined a tiny Hana grinning widely and lying there.   Thoughtlessly, he crouched down and smoothed the bottom bunk’s covers, “And who slept here?”   Hana’s gaze was unhesitant.   “My sister.”   ---------------------------   Kang Hana only had memories of when she was in the orphanage. She didn’t remember anything before that.   Where was she from? She was told Seoul. Other than that, she didn’t even remember her parents, as she was only about a couple of years old before she was given up, along with her biological, baby sister.   Back then, Hana had only three things she was sure of in her life.   1. Her last name. 2. Her ‘home’, Juwon Orphanage. 3. Kang Rina.   Rina…   Where to begin with Rina?   Rina was Hana’s complete opposite. Although she was younger than her by a few months, Rina was the calmer one. She was shy, quiet, and wasn’t courageous at all, but she was optimistic. She was also a scaredy-cat.   But Hana… Hana didn’t care. Hana cherished Rina like she was her own. After all, Hana understood that in order to get out of Juwon, she had to listen to the caretakers’ every word and fend for both her and Rina.   Rina was like her other half. She looked up to Hana, and never disobeyed her words because she knew that Hana always wanted the best for her.   But that all that ended a few months after a new male caretaker was hired to help the children.   Hana entered the room her and Rina shared. A smile came up on her face as she spotted Rina on the bottom bunk, looking at a picture book.   “Rina!” Hana hopped on her bed.   “Unnie!” Rina squealed and pouted at her, “This bed’s not big enough for the both of us.”   Hana rolled her eyes, “I’ll move soon. By the way, are you going to help out Mr. Yang with his paperwork again before you go to bed?”   Rina nodded silently.   Hana smiled and patted her head, “It’s really nice of you to help out that new caretaker. He seems really busy all the time.”   “Erm… Yeah.” She seemed fidgety. “Unnie?”   “Mmm?”   “…It’s nothing.”   Confused, Hana shrugged it off. “Okay.” Before she was about to go to sleep and climb onto the top bunk, she caught sight of the bracelet that was wound around Rina’s wrist.   She smiled, “You’re still wearing mom’s bracelet, huh?”   Rina blinked and stared at her wrist, “Oh, this? Yeah, I guess.”   “It looks cute.” Hana grinned and was about to climb the ladder when a soft nudge made her stop. Rina unhooked the bracelet and placed it in her palm, giving it to Hana.   After countless ‘no’s, Hana ended up taking it only because Rina threatened to cry if she didn’t. After falling asleep with the bracelet on her wrist, a terrible shout made her bolt up at three in the morning.   The
