Chapter 23

You woke up feeling a bit empty.

You looked around you to find out that L.Joe wasn’t next to you.

You frantically sat up from your bed and started to look around the room.

“What are you doing?” L.Joe came up behind you out of nowhere and scared the out of you, which made you fall out of bed, landing on your .

“Oww…” you groaned.

“Were you looking for me?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.

“Yeah. Why did you go outside? My step-family are home.” You said.

“No, they aren’t.” he said.

You nodded your head.

You walked out of your room in your PJs.

“You’re not changing?” he asked.

“Nope. Too lazy.” You said, yawning.

He chuckled and ruffled your hair.

You sighed and sat down on the couch.

“Why sigh?” he asked and sat down next to you.

“How do you and L know each other?” you finally asked.

He flinched at his name.

L.Joe P.O.V.

“How do you and L know each other?” _____ finally asked.

I flinched.

“Don’t say his name.” I said.

“Why oppa. What happened? Please tell me.” She begged.

He tried to take you away from me.

“It’s nothing you should know right now.” I said.

I stood up from the couch and walked out the door.

“Oppa! Where are you going?” she asked.

“I need some fresh air.” I mumbled and left.

I sat down on a bench, arms stretched open.

I sighed, frustrated.

“This is nothing you should know right now, ____” I muttered to myself.

---- Flashback ----

I remember in middle school, _____ was liked by mostly every guy in the school.

I hated that.

But, what I hated the most is Myungsoo.

He would always go up to _____ and flirt with her without any shame.

He always would have that smirk on his face every time he talked to her.

I wanted to slap that smirk off.

Was I jealous? Hell yeah.

Why? That would be revealed later.

Anyways, watching him flirt with my own sister was getting on my nerves.

One day, when it was lunch time, I saw him and ____ talking at her locker.

I walked up to her and slung an arm around ____ and said, “Let’s go ____.”

“Woah~ Slow down. Why are you taking her away?” he said, grabbing one of her arms.

“Because I don’t want her to be with you!” I yelled.

“I thought you were her brother.” He said.

“I am.” I hissed.

“Then, why are you acting so ?” he asked, smirking.

I pulled _____ behind me and punch Myungsoo.

“You freaking bastard!” Myungsoo yelled and a fight began.

“Oppa! Oppa~ Stop! Please stop!” _____begged.

Students were watching like it was some kind of show.

The teachers finally came and separated us from killing each other.

“You two are suspended!” the principal said.

Myungsoo got up from the floor and glared at me before walking out the school.

______ started to run after Myungsoo, until I grabbed her arm.

“Oppa! Let go!” she yelled at me.

I was shocked because she never raised her voice at me, so I dropped her arm.

She ran after him.

When I came back to my sense, I chased after _____.

I finally caught up to _____ and grabbed her again.

“STOP RUNNING!” I yelled.

“OPPA! LET GO! Why are you so mean too Myungsoo?” she yelled back.

“Because he was taking you away from me!” I thought, but I couldn’t say that out loud.

I sighed and didn’t know what to say.

She pried her arm out of my grasp and ran across the street.

But she wasn’t even looking at the stop sign.

“______! Stop! Don’t run! You’re gonna get hit –“ but before I could finish, a car ran into my sister.

All I could hear was the piercing scream that came from her and the shattering of my heart.

“THIS ALL YOUR ING FAULT, MYUNGSOO! I ING HATE YOU!!!!!” I screamed.

I didn’t give crap to the driver who was apologizing.

I ran all the way to the hospital with her on my back.

Thankfully, the doctor said that she had a broken leg and that she will survive.

But I guess he forgot to say that she lost her memory because after she was discharged from the hospital, she doesn’t remember anything from her past expect me and her family.

I was glad that she forgot about Myungsoo, but now here he is, back in her life again.

I sighed at the memory.

I swore on that day that I’ll never let _____ see him ever again, but I didn’t keep my promise.

Is it so hard to understand my feelings, _____?

I am scared that she might remember who Myungsoo is.

I have crazy feelings for you, _____. It might be weird if I am your brother, but what if I say that I’m adopted.
