“Here.”

A piece of envelope landed on my office desk, and I looked at Kyuhyun, the one who was just barging in to my office and throwing the envelope on my desk.

“What’s this?”

“Open it and you’ll see.”

With a frown, I carefully opened the simple white envelope with my name written on it. Behind the envelope there was a paper, in which I read the first two lines and just raised my eyebrow.

“Congratulations for your new branch at Jejudo.” I finally smiled at him, “I hope it will be as successful as the one in Seoul.”

“That’s not the point I want to make. Go on, continue reading.”

I continued reading and finally widened my eyes when I stumbled on something.

“Opening party at Jeju Island? I can’t go at this date Kyu, this is a weekday. I still have to work.”

“Losing one day of work won’t cost you anything, Donghae.” Kyuhyun snorted, “Besides, it’s Friday. Meaning you can spend your weekend on Jeju too. Isn’t that fun? I also invited Teukie hyung and the others, you know.”

“I don’t know…”

“Come on..” He groaned, and then I was startled when he suddenly slammed his hand on top of my desk and stared at me with a serious expression he rarely had. “This isn’t good for you, hyung. You’re locked since our last reunion! Are you not rotting here?”

I wanted to retort that I had gone out once with Hyukjae-ssi, but that was maybe best said as only a business meeting since I and Hyukjae-ssi were not friends anyway. Kyuhyun’s expression looked so serious too, his usual playful and smug expression had gone.

“Don’t you see that?” I pointed at the corner with my thumb, where pile of papers was sitting idly, waiting me to check on them, “That contains the past promotion strategies my dad had done, so I have to check on them so I can continue the promotion based on the current trend but with my dad’s style too so it won’t be too different. Then gradually I will implement my own promotion style, but for now-“

“I get it that you’re busy.” He cut me, “But that doesn’t mean you can miss this. We don’t know when Heechul hyung will come back, Donghae hyung. Remember, his stay here isn’t permanent. He will go back in one month. Shouldn’t we, as his friends, spend the time as much as we can with him?”

Kyuhyun continued his speech while I scratched my nape guiltily, contemplating whether I dumped my works and went to Jeju Island or I dumped our friendship and working instead. If I dumped my works, when I came back works would piled up. But if I chose the latter, I would feel guilty for the rest of my life…

I sighed. I guessed the choice was obvious by now. I just had to stay up late for two or three days to catch up for the days I didn’t work…

“Fine.” I saw Kyuhyun stopped mid-way of saying something and his mouth hung open in such a ridiculous way until I chuckled before continuing my sentence, “I’ll go.”

“You’ll go?” He repeated, still looking disbelievingly at me.

“I’ll go. Spending day with Heechul hyung and his antics will be fun after all.” I smiled, “It’s in two weeks, right? I’ll book the ticket now-“

“No need.” Kyu cut me and took something out from his backpack.

I widened my eyes when I opened the envelope while he laughing evilly, “Ticket to Jeju Island for Lee Donghae, first class seat. Bought by Cho Kyuhyun for last attempt to make Lee Donghae to go to Jeju Island.”

“Kyu, seriously, you don’t need-“

“It’s my party.” He smirked, “My party, my rules. And one of my rules is buying tickets for all of my friends. So take and use this.”

“Kyuhyun-ah…” I felt guilty for making him to buy the ticket for me. I meant, it was a first class ticket and that was so expensive. It was only about an hour trip too, there was no need to buy me such an expensive ticket.

“I know, I’m awesome, right?” He bragged. “So you’d better come! No excuse!”

I cracked up a small smile and nodded at him, earning a satisfied smile. Kyuhyun was really a good and caring dongsaeng, really.  I could never repay how he always stayed beside me and tried to lift my mood when I was stressed.

Kyuhyun really went all out with the opening party. He rented the biggest hall in the hotel and the amount of people in the party hall was no joke. I even spotted some celebrities, which wasn’t that surprising since Kyuhyun had many connections.

I had gone to Jeju Island with my friends and I even gave a gift to Heechul hyung, which he accepted happily until he hugged me tightly. We then just talked with each other without Kyuhyun since he was busy with the preparation. The preparation was really paid off though, the whole party was splendid.

Kyuhyun went over to greet us after he had finished with the opening speech and let his vice president handled the other stuff.

“How’s the party, guys?” He grinned, “Nice? Any complains?”

“You know you always go all out for this kind of party, Cho.” Heechul nudged him, “I spot many kind of alcohols here so I’m perfect! Come on Hae, let’s go grab some drinks!”

“Wait, hyung, I don’t drink-“

But Heechul hyung ignored my plea and already dragged me to a table where the drinks were served.  He gave me a blue-colored drink and said that it was nice so having no choice with Heechul hyung’s death grip at my wrist, I gulped it down and feeling dizzy almost immediately.

I managed to refuse the second drink and sat down on an empty seat, massaging my temple and trying to erase the dizziness. It wasn’t working though, so I forced myself to stand up and walked slowly to the table where water was served.

Halfway through the way, however, someone patted my shoulder.

I turned around and met Mon- I mean Lee Hyukjae.

He smiled and offered a glass of water, “Fancy meeting you here, Donghae-ssi.”

Sorry for not updating for a long time, it's just I'm busy and I'm in major writer's block ;; I'm trying to get myself to work tho,  so I'm finishing this chapter and hopefully I can update more in the future
