Ring… ring…

“Hello?” I muttered while my eyes still looking at the financial data for this month.

“I’m sorry, Donghae!” Kyuhyun’s voice came, and a bit groggy. I think he just woke up. “Is everyone drunk yesterday? Are you the one that bring me to my car?”

“Yeah, everyone’s drunk.” I explained, “And I take care of everything, so no problem, Kyu.”

“God, I’m sorry! Did anyone make a mess? I don’t remember anything, and Minnie didn’t too so we don’t know if we make a mess…”

I shrugged, but then realized that Kyuhyun couldn’t see me, “Just a minor problem that I can handle. It’s fine, Kyu. Have you arrived home?”

“Minnie’s currently driving.” He answered from the other side, “Did Heechul hyung do something? He’s quite wild when he’s drunk, you know.”

“He’s sleeping yesterday just when he gulped the fifth glass.” I lied smoothly. “Don’t worry, okay?”

“Fine. I’ll visit you later, when I sober enough.”

“Okay.”

I hung up and began to look at the paper again. I hoped Kyuhyun didn’t see through my lie since I think this was the only way to repay them for the time that I couldn’t spend with them. Compared to the two years, the amount of damages that I had to pay for the plates was nothing.

My office phone rang when I was doing some calculations.

“Sir, there is a gentleman here wanting to meet you. He said he was from Sapphire Palace Restaurant. Do you recognize him?”

“Oh, yes.” Sapphire Palace was the restaurant that we visited yesterday. This had to be the manager again, possibly already finished calculating how much was the expenses from yesterday, “Send him in to my office directly then.”

“Yes, sir.”

I laid the calculation paper back on the table and stretched my body while waiting for the manager. He could just have called though, I wouldn’t mind. I could just send the money through bank transfer or going to the restaurant again.

The door was knocked slowly and I replied to come in. Then a soft click was heard and the door turned slowly and I frowned when a red hair appeared. Weird, the manager yesterday had a black hair, not a red hair like this.

Nevertheless, I didn’t say anything as he closed the door and walked toward me while bringing papers on his left hand. He didn’t lift his head until he was in front of my table.

He finally lifted his head and my breath hitched. He… He looked like Monkey!

“Hi.” His voice was smooth as he offered his hand to me, “Lee Hyukjae. Sapphire Palace Restaurant’s Vice President. It’s nice to meet you.”

Instead of accepting his hand, I just stood there, gaping at him, “Mo- Monkey?” I whispered in disbelief.

“I’m sorry?”

But Monkey couldn’t talk human language and he couldn’t possibly becoming vice president. Probably Lee Hyukjae and Monkey just had a similarity in face. I mean, it’s possible to have similarity since human population was large anyway. Relax, Donghae.

I smiled and finally accepted his offered hand, “I’m Lee Donghae. It’s nice to meet you, Hyukjae-ssi.”

“I know.” He simply answered, bringing a frown to my face but then disappeared when he gave me my worker’s id back. Of course he knew, I gave the manager my id yesterday. “Now then, Donghae-ssi, if I can just get straight to the point, may I ask something other than compensation for the dishware that one of your friends broke yesterday?”

I frowned, “Oh yes. Please sit down.”

After we got into a comfortable sitting position, he continued, “I know that your company produces dolls, pillows, bolsters and basically that kind of stuff. We are planning to expand to Myeongdong but we do not want to build a restaurant like the Sapphire Palace. For the Myeongdong branch, we are planning to create a restaurant which targets teenagers, especially female. Which is why rather than compensation, I’d like to trade it for your product.”

I nodded. That did sound interesting, “Please continue.”

“For the promotion week, we’d like to create a promotion in which when the customers have ordered until a certain amount, they will get a present. This is where your product comes from, Donghae-ssi. I want to order around 10,000 dolls with specific design.” He handed me the paper, “That is drawn on here. If you can give me your price, I will subtract it with the amount of damages from the dishware.”

Nodding again, I looked at the design and it was just a simple monkey design with the name of their restaurant that would be embroidered in the back of the doll. The embroidery would have different colors and had to be packaged with gift bags. There was also a size listed in there, and the paper completely summarized what I needed to produce this doll.

“When will you need this?” I asked.

“In about three or four months.”

“Hmm…” Only Kim Construction and Choi Entertainment needed their orders next month, based on my memory, “Fine.”

I told him that I would have to ask one of my employees to calculate the price so I asked him to wait at the office while I went out to Jiyong since he handled all the financial stuff.

After Jiyong told me the price, I went back to the office and found Lee Hyukjae was holding my phone, the monkey strap to be exact.

“Oh.” He noticed me and put my phone back to its original place, “You aren’t seemed to be the type to like monkey, Donghae-ssi.”

“Oh, yeah. I- I like monkey actually.” I cleared my throat to regain my composure back while walking until I was in front of him. “So well, this is the price that my employee has calculated.”

He observed the paper that contained Jiyong’s writing and nodding, “This is good. I will take this deal and subtract it with the amount of the damages.”

“Sure.”

We talked a little bit more and we exchanged name cards at the end and excused himself because he had to go back to the restaurant. After the door closed and his figure disappeared, I sat back behind the table and continued working.

LOL okay I admit the meeting is boring, no or quarrels or anything else, but I hope the next update (in which I have written up to 4 pages now as I wrote this) will be more interesting :3
