“O.M.G!! Why is it that you’re always stuck with Park Chorong??!” Eunji exclaimed loudly, oblivious to the fact that they were currently inside the library.

“Shhh--- ! Your voice is too loud!” replied Bomi while glancing around the library. Thankfully, no students were nearby to accidentally hear their loud conversation.

Flashback

“Yoon Bomi-ssi? Can you please meet me after this lecture ends?” said Professor Choi, before he began his lecture.

For the two hours of lecture, Bomi wasn’t able to concentrate at all. She was restless and she kept thinking about of why Professor Choi wanted to see her. Bomi was certain that she did not skip any of his classes; she finished her assignments – even if it took her a night of staying up and recently, she was never late for his classes. She was being a fairly, good girl throughout this week. But then one last thing crept out to her mind. Did he found out about her part-time job?

Heading her way to Professor Choi’s office, Bomi took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

“Ouh. Bomi-ssi, you may come in. Take a seat please.” Said the professor while offering the seat in front of him to Bomi. By the look of the professor’s poker face, Bomi wasn’t able to tell.

“Hmm… Remember when I told you about the extra classes that you need to attend during summer? Well you don’t have to, anymore.”

“Huh?” Bomi’s forehead ceased with confusion.”B-but… w-why?”

“I’ve been observing you these past three weeks and I’ve noticed how you have improved-”

Upon hearing that, Bomi’s lips slowly curved into a smile. She was pleased to hear that.

“But there’s a thing that you have to do,” said the professor.

Bomi tried to keep a straight face.

“Park Chorong insisted that she wanted you to become her partner for her final year project. This means that you have to work together with her and you have to help her. Both of you are going to perform at the seniors’ final performance stage. If both of you do well, then both of you will be given good grades. So, it’s all fair and square.”

Park Chorong?! What is it with this person…?

That’s not fair! Not fair at all! Why do I have to help her?? How am I related to her business??! I object this!!

“But… why me?” That was the only question that came out from Bomi’s mouth. She wanted to say more, she wanted to flip the table and she practically wanted to yell at him. Bomi would rather have her summer’s plans ruined than having to work together with Park Chorong. Awkward! Awkward!

“She specifically requested for you. I’m in no power to question her request, but think of this as a positive experience, Bomi-ssi. It’s only for a month, and you’ll be free. In addition, you’ll get good grades too.”

Positive experience? You bet! Blekkk.

With that, Bomi had no choice but to oblige.

Flashback ended

“So when are you supposed to meet her then??” Eunji asked in disbelief. She was still trying to swallow what she had heard a few minutes before.

“I don’t know! And I really don’t want to know! Eunji-ah, help me. I really, really don’t want anything to do with her.” Said Bomi with her face, lying flat down on the desk. Eunji could only shake her head, feeling pity for her best friend. She wished she could have done something for Bomi, but just like Bomi, she was just an ordinary student in the college.

In Cube Art Academy, the rich ones owned the rules.

And all Eunji could do was to support Bomi, and to stay by her side – always.
