Of Being Possessive
Heart Skips A Beat
Friday night, two days after the first practice that Chorong had with Bomi. Chorong was waiting at her dance studio, doing some stretching while waiting for Bomi to come for their second practice. She was supposed to go out for a movie night with Woohyun, but she decided to skip it, instead. For some reasons, she was more looking forward for the dance practice – and although she kept on denying herself, Chorong was somehow more excited to meet Bomi.
“Sorry! Sorry! I’m late,” Bomi spurted out as she dashed to the studio’s door.
“Yah, you’re late-”
Chorong wasn’t able to continue her words. She took a second glance at the junior. Bomi was wearing a sleeveless white shirt, with a tight grey-coloured training skinny, and she had her hair down. Why does the more and more I look at her, the prettier she gets? Chorong darted her gaze away when she realized that their eyes met. She pretended to flick and play with her hair.
"Chorong-sunbae?" Bomi greeted the senior.
Hearing her name being called, Chorong shot a glance at the younger one, "Yeah?"
"Umm- Where is Jungah-unnie?"
Jungah was their dance lady instructor. The one who got the pair to do the ballroom dance position.
“She would be a little late for today’s practice," replied the older one to Bomi.
"Ohh." Bomi nodded a little.
“By the way, she wants us to discuss regarding our song choice for the performance.”
“Ohh, umm... okay.” Bomi simply replied.
Awkward silence surrounded the couple. Awkward distance fell between them. Bomi was sitting on the other corner of the dance studio, while Chorong was on the other side. Like north and pole. It almost seemed like both parties were pretending to be busy doing something else - Chorong was still doing her stretches while stealing some glances at Bomi - while Bomi was - making silly, funny expressions in the mirror. Chorong thought that Bomi was being weird - but still it was kind of cute.
"What songs do you like?" Chorong asked, finally breaking the long, awkward silence between them.
The question startled Bomi a bit. She then fixed her position to face in the same direction of the senior. "I like sad songs."
She likes sad songs? Chorong didn't expect that coming from the always cheerful Yoon Bomi. But Chorong knew of one song, a song that had changed her view about Yoon Bomi.
“How do you like this song from Leona Lewis?" She took her phone from a table nearby and played out a song that sounded very much familiar to Bomi. It was Bomi’s favourite song, Bleeding Love. It was the song that she liked to dance to.
“Do you like this song?” Chorong blurted out as they were both drowned into the beat of the song.
“Umm, yeah. It’s a nice song.”
“Is it okay if we use this song for our performance?” Chorong’s eyes were fixed on Bomi and somehow – it made Bomi felt uncomfortable. Chorong knew that the song meant something for Bomi and yet she asked - because she wanted to know if Bomi was okay with the idea of it.
“I guess so. I’m fine with anything.”
Since when do my opinions matter to her, anyways? Bomi always thought that her opinions have probably never mattered to Park Chorong.
“Right.” Chorong replied – with a smile. Behind her smile, she was hiding a bigger something. A thing that had got her excited since yesterday.
Flashback
“Naeun-ah, which phone is cuter? This or this?” Chorong asked while pointing out at the two phones that caught her eyes in the phone’s shop. The first phone was a limited version of a pink-coloured, flip phone while the second one was a much modern and expensive, iPhone's brand.
“I like the iPhone better. It's more sophisticated.” She said after pausing a while, thinking. “But why are you buying a new phone? Don’t you have like three different phones already?”
“No, it’s not for me. It’s for somebody else.”
And that somebody else was Yoon Bomi. It bothered Chorong how Bomi did not own a phone and how she had to pass notice notes to Bomi whenever she had to contact her regarding their practice and stuffs – it was utterly troublesome and indeed old-fashion. What kind of people does passing notes in this century as a form of communication? None! And the fact that Chorong did that pathetic-notes-passing-way was even more embarrassing for her.
“Umm, I’m buying this one.” Chorong said as she pointed out to the phone of her final choice.
She was hoping that Bomi would like the gift.
Flashback ended
Bomi was so deeply immersed into the song that she did not realized that Chorong had been staring at her for the whole time. Bomi was hugging her knees, as her head was swaying and nodding to the beat of the song. She was fully engaged with the emotions. Chorong took that opportunity to take out the gift that she was planning to give Bomi.
“Yah, something important for you to have.” Chorong said roughly, snapping Bomi back to reality. She casually handed out a squared, red-coloured gift box to Bomi. Inside was the pink-coloured, flip phone that Chorong had chosen. A phone that Chorong thought would be more suitable for a girl like Yoon Bomi.
Bomi was completely stunned with the senior’s action. Her forehead creased with confusion.
"Wh-what is this?"
“It’s a phone for you. I’ve saved my number in it, and I have yours too. So with this, it would be a lot easier for us to contact each other."
Bomi still couldn't register what she had just heard.
"Yah, do you know how embarrassing it is for me to pass the notes around to you when we have a thing named technology?” Chorong scoffed, as she kept a straight face. She studied Bomi’s expression but she wasn’t able to sense if Bomi liked the gift or not.
Bomi still looked confused. Firstly, she never really like the idea of receiving expensive gifts from anyone. Secondly, Park Chorong would be the least person that she would have expected to receive a gift from. And thirdly, she didn't understand the needs of the senior to do something outrageous as that.
Seriously? A gift from Park Chorong? Is she trying to bribe me? Or is she looking down on me?
“I really can’t accept this-”
“Well you ought to” Not letting Bomi to finish her words, Chorong cut her off.
“From now on, if I call you, you must pick up. And if I text you, I expect a reply.” Chorong continued. Those words were not a part of her plan, and she had no idea why she had said that. But she felt possessive of Bomi – and she sort of wanted Bomi to be clear of that.
“And from now on, you are ought to call me Chorong-unnie.”
A/N: Possessive Park Chorong is possessive XD I'm sure most Pink Pandas know the fact that Chorong likes being possessive of Bomi. It's almost like Bomi is her favourite pet :) LOL... Well I hope this story is not getting boring, cause my mind is cracking trying to think of the upcoming plots~ Anyways, do enjoy this update :)
