The Bubibu's Incident
Heart Skips A Beat
Saturday. At Bubibu’s.
Bomi took a part-time job as a waitress in a small cupcake shop, called Bubibu and she worked there every weekend. The restaurant belonged to Hayoung’s grandparents, in which Hayoung was Bomi’s junior at her previous middle high school. Since Bomi and Hayoung knew each other rather well, Bomi was instantly employed when Hayoung found out that Bomi needed a part-time job. The amount of scholarship that Bomi received was enough to pay for her college fees, but thinking that she may needed some extra pocket money to pay for her food and transport’s expenses, she decided to get a job.
Here’s the catch; taking part-time jobs is illegal in Cube Art Academy. Any college student who was still in the course of studying and was caught to illegally working will be expelled from the college.
With her grades falling apart and this-part-time-job, Bomi knew she was playing with fire. But this was what she had to do. She had to survive.
Bomi then became a part of the waitresses-line, together with Hayoung, the supposed employee herself, Namjoo who was Hayoung’s best friend and the only guy in the shop, Dongwoo or as Bomi called, the Dinowoo-oppa.
It was a usual weekend. The small cupcake shop was especially crowded during weekends as loyal customers would come to purchase their favourite cupcakes and some choose to dine out at the shop by making reservations. Namjoo was in charged of the cashiering duties today, Dongwoo was busy making and mixing cupcakes inside the kitchen, whilst Hayoung and Bomi took charged as the waitress of the day.
“Hayoung-ah, which table was reserved for the 1 o’clock date?” Bomi asked the younger one.
“Table 12, the last table at the corner one. Had unnie finish cleaning it?”
“I’m on my way, now.” Bomi replied while skilfully avoiding the blocking customers on her way. She took out a clean white cloth from her apron’s front pocket and started to clean the surface of the table, in a quick but meticulous manner. She had to make sure that the table was clean, as Hayoung had told her that the customer specifically wanted it to be extra clean. She then sprayed a rose-flavoured fragrant as the final touch. Bomi was about to make her way back to the other side of the shop, when she could feel that her jaw dropped as her eyes widen.
Oh my gosh. Isn’t that Park Chorong?!
Like a scene came out from a movie, Park Chorong strutted into the shop wearing an over-sized shade on, with one arm holding a leopard-printed handbag. And Park Chorong wasn’t alone. Behind her was a very familiar looking guy.
So, the rumour is true. Park Chorong is indeed dating Nam Woohyun.
Seeing Park Chorong, Bomi’s instant reaction was to hide. In fact, seeing any students from Cube Art Academy would make Bomi felt nervous. She had been working for nearly 3 months and was lucky that until now, none of the students found out about her part-time job at Bubibu’s. Bomi didn’t even tell her best friend, Eunji about that. Basically, it was her little secret that she was going to keep to herself.
Bomi adjusted her cap, pulling it down low on her face to cover her face. She had her hair tied up, looking a bit different than her usual hair down appearance in college. She was praying hard that Park Chorong would not recognize her at all.
“Hello, may I have your order please?” Bomi asked the pair, slightly changing her tone of voice. Her head was still down.
Hearing the waitress’ voice, Park Chorong, couldn’t help but to notice that it sounded familiar. At least, she may have heard that distinctive voice before, somewhere, somehow.
Vanilla Petals with Sprinkles
Strawberry Delight
Red Velvet
Vanilla Latte
“Honey, which one do you want?” the guy, Woohyun asked.
So he called her honey~
“Anything’s fine with me.” Chorong replied with a smile.
So this girl do know how to smile~
While Woohyun was busy making their orders, Chorong had her eyes on the waitress. She stared at her up and down. Her instinct told her that she had seen this person somewhere. Chorong couldn’t see the waitress’ eyes as it was covered with the cap. She looked at her lips – and that small, thin lips. Wait, could this person be?
“Your orders will be ready in 7 minutes. Thank you.” Bomi replied as she hastily collect the menu cards on the table. She turned around, letting out a huge relief, as she thought that her identity was still in cover.
“Yoon Bomi-ssi? You forgot your pen.”
Oh Lord. Did Park Chorong just call my name?
