Author’s POV

“MWO?!” Shin Hye shot Yong Hwa with her dagger looks as sharp as she can then elbowed his chest to clear his arms.

“Ouch! Ya! You heard me.” Yong Hwa said softly so that no one can hear while rubbing the part of his chest being hit.

“Shirro! I can’t do that.”Shin Hye said firmly.

“But, I’ve never seen halmeoni as delighted as this since…never mind. You swore!... Fine. You don’t have to.” Yong Hwa said almost sounded pleading but, remembered something so he stopped and didn’t force her anymore.

“Good.” Shin Hye smiled at him sarcastically then they both headed to the dining hall.

“So, you’re super duper rich, huh?” Shin Hye said as she examines every corner of the house.

“No, my grandma is the super duper rich.” Yong Hwa said monotonously.

“Well, that’s what rich people say! Is this really a house or a castle? This is really huge and grandious!”

Shin Hye continued to marvel at the place. After a while, halmeoni helped the maids bring the food. Shin Hye was even more amazed when she saw the bountiful fresh sea foods in front of her. She couldn’t help but her lips which Yong Hwa and halmeoni noticed. They were staring at her with amusement. Yong Hwa then let out a laugh that made her realize their stares. She smiled at them sheepishly.

“Uh… mianhae. It’s just that… I’ve never eaten fresh sea foods for a long time.”

“Jinja?! Me too.” Yong Hwa said teasingly then laughed again.

“Eat as much as you can Shin Hye-ya! I’ve prepared this all for you!” Halmeoni said as she pressed Shin Hye’s hand then made her sit near her. Halmeoni sat in the head chair, with Shin Hye on her left. Yong Hwa was about to sit at the chair on halmeoni’s right side but then his granny looked at her with disbelief.

“Ya! You should sit beside your jagi!”

Shin Hye was shaking her head mildly at Yong Hwa so that halmeoni will not notice.

“Ah…aniyo! No need halmeoni. Besides, I miss you so much that’s why I want to be beside you all the time.”

“Shirro! The circumstances are different now. You’re a man and you should take care of your tired girlfriend over here.” Halmeoni scolded her grandson.

“Halmeoni… Shin Hye is not…” Before Yong Hwa was able to continue, halmeoni interrupted him.

“What? Shin Hye is not your girlfriend?!” Halmeoni sighed deeply then fell on her chair. She was massaging her temples.

“I… I thought… There will already be someone who will stay with you by the time I will leave this world… It’s so… frustrating. I think I just lost my appetite… I don’t have enough energy to eat…” Halmeoni said weakly. Shin Hye then remembered Yong Hwa’s words earlier.

I’ve never seen halmeoni as delighted as this…

She tried to ignore it but then it kept on running on her head. She suddenly spoke,

“Ah! Halmeoni! You got it wrong. Yong Hwa and I are together so, please eat now.  Ya Yong Hwa! Don’t you want to sit with me…your yeojachingu?”

Yong Hwa’s jaw dropped because he was shocked by her words. All of a sudden, Halmeoni was in her cheerful self again and tapped Yong Hwa’s arm to send him back to reality.

“You heard your yeochin. Now sit.”

“Arasseo.” Yong Hwa said while looking down smiling secretly then headed beside Shin Hye.

“I feel hungry again. Shall we eat now?” Halmeoni said as she sips her soup.

“Ne.” The two said in chorus.

After a few minutes, Woo Young came in with a petite pretty girl.

“Halmeoni, I invited IU to eat with us today.”

“Annyeong halmeoni. How have you been doing?” IU said politely, bowing her head.

“I’m feeling much better now… it’s all because of you and Shin Hye. Oh! IU, meet Shin Hye.”

“Annyeong! Shin Hye-yeyo. Pangapseumnida.” She said smilingly at her.

“Annyeong eonni! My Woo Young is right. Yong Hwa oppa’s yeochin is really beautiful.” IU said with delight.

“Ah… komawo.” She smiled sheepishly, blushing a little.

Halmeoni then signalled IU to sit on her right side, while Woo Young was opposite his hyung.

While they were all eating, halmeoni couldn’t help but look at the two lovely couple.

“Haaah! You all look good for each other!” She said clasping her hands close to her chest. Yong Hwa elbowed Shin Hye’s arm lightly then smirked.

“Komawo.” He whispered smilingly to her.

“I did it for your granny.” Shin Hye said hitting his biceps mildly.

“Neomu kyeopta!” Halmeoni said then took a picture of them. The lovely couples didn’t know where Halmeoni got her SLR. The two were startled, then shyly continued eating.

“Omo! Halmeoni is so techie!” IU said with amazement.

“Maja. Halmeoni was never left behind when it comes to gadgets.” Woo Young seconded his jagi. Halmeoni also took a picture of them.

“Ya! Getting old doesn’t mean you that you don’t have to learn technology.” Halmeoni commented.

All of them laughed then ate their bountiful lunch happily.

“Where do you think you’re bringing her things?” Halmeoni said in disbelief as Yong Hwa helped Shin Hye carry her luggage to one of the guest rooms on the second floor.

“To her room halmeoni.” Yong Hwa said, clueless.

“Mwo?”

“I said to her room halmeoni…in one of the guest rooms.” Yong Hwa said a little louder thinking that halmeoni is already having a difficulty in hearing.

“I heard you. I meant, that’s not her room.” Halmeoni said shaking her head.

“Oh! Okay. I got it… the guest room on the first floor?” Yong Hwa was still unable to comprehend what his halmeoni was implying.

“Aniyo! My gosh Yong! You’re so slooow. Bring her bags to YOUR room.” Halmeoni looked at her grandson, amused.

“MWO?!” Shin Hye and Yong Hwa said in chorus. They were terribly surprised by halmeoni's words.

“What? Don’t tell me you young ones are having some difficulties hearing. Tsk tsk! Must be because of those loud music on your earphones.”

“Ah, halmeoni… kwaenchanhayo. I will just sleep in the guest room.” Shin Hye said feeling uncomfortable.

“Shirro! You can sleep in his room… the guest rooms are… are being renovated.” Halmeoni said persuading her to sleep in his room.

“I... I can sleep in the living room’s sofa.” Shin Hye suggested another idea.

“You are our guest. It’s unethical to let you sleep there.” Halmeoni said.

“Halmeoni’s right, Shin Hye-ya. I can sleep in Woo Young’s room.” Yong Hwa proposed.

“Andwae! Sleep in your room too! Woo Young’s room is not that big. It can’t accommodate the two of you…”

“Halmeoni, our rooms here are big enough to accommodate ten people.” Yong Hwa tried to argue.

“Geureomyeon, I will just sleep in Il Woo hyung’s room since he is not here.” he added.

“Shirro! He’s room is still in a mess. I hadn’t had told the maids to fix his room.”

“Enough said. Now go to Yong Hwa’s room, Shin Hye.” Halmeoni couldn't think of another excuse if Yong Hwa will suggest another idea again so she used her 'power' as the head of the house.

“Halmeoni!” The two protested.

“Don’t you think it’s immoral for two people in the opposite will share one room?”

“Aniyo. You’re both at the right age to do what is right and what you want. Besides, we are the only ones here. The maids won’t tell anyone. I trust you.”

She then winked at her grandson. By trusting him, she meant that he will do the other way around. The both of them was shocked by halmeoni’s words. That’s just how she is, a person who is not receptive in accepting new ideas in the ever-evolving world.

“I can’t wait to hear a baby crying in a few months time! I don’t want to die without seeing another grandchild.” Halmeoni said giddily.

“Speaking of which, Yo Rim is having a pajama party at her best friend’s house so you won’t be able to meet her until tomorrow Shin Hye-ya. Surely, the two of you will get along well. She is a loveable child. For now, enjoy your night together.”

Halmeoni added then waited for the defeated two to head towards Yong Hwa’s room.

The each of them sat the opposite side of the bed, their backs facing each other. Yong Hwa finally decided to break the ice and faced her back. Shin Hye noticed his gesture and faced him too.

“Sooooo...”

So yeah... after ages, I finally updated. :) I was supposed to write this chapter yesterday but I lacked the energy and interest to do so because I just had a brainbleed in my exam in Labor Economics. Whew! School life's really tougher than ever. One down, two exams to go. Next update will be next week, maybe. I have an exam on Monday and on Friday in my major subjects.
