Please Don't
One More Song [Baekhyun][Mei-Hua POV]
It’s been a while now.
It’s been about a month and I was getting used to this life.
No one had discovered about my sickness yet so it was all okay.
I finished fixing up the practice room and shut the lights.
It was almost 1 AM. This was usually around the time I went home regularly nowadays.
It was good though, because no one really knew where I went.
But I felt someone tap my back.
“Yes?” I turned around to face them.
“What are you still doing here?” He asked.
“Oh, I just finishing clean up. How about you?”
“I was just practicing for our performance tomorrow. You clean like this everyday?”
I nodded.
“Baekhyun doesn’t help you?”
“Well, I never real asked him help” I replied, not wanting to blame Baekhyun for anything.
“Well, want to walk home together?”
Oh no. What do I say? They can’t find out I live in a hut.
I shook my head. “No thanks, I have a more thing to do. You go on Sehun.”
“It’s alright. I can wait.” He smiled.
“It okay!” I said.
“Nah, you shouldn’t be walking home alone at this time anyway.”
I finally agreed, a little worried. And pretended to do things in the practice room for another five minutes and finally came out. “Okay! Let go!”
“You’re Korean is getting a lot better” He complimented.
I nodded. He’d kind of helped me too this past month.
But it surprised me he even knew Chinese. “How’d you know Chinese?”
“Ah, my best friend in China Luhan speaks Chinese and taught me some.” He replied.
I nodded, and the rest of the way we were silent.
It wasn’t an awkward silence.
It was that kind of silence you would have with a good friend, one where there’s nothing left to say.
And no need to say anything.
I stopped a few blocks before actually reaching my hut.
What should I do.
I took my phone out and texted Baekhyun. ‘Call Me.’
‘Why would I do that?’ he replied.
‘Just do.
‘No.’
‘Please?’
‘What’s in it for me?’
‘You can have whatever you want.’
“Who are you texting?” Sehun asked.
“Oh, just my mom.” I replied.
‘You promise?’ Baekhyun finally replied back.
‘YESSS. DO.’
Almost immediately my phone vibrated and rang.
“Ah, Umma!” Then I started speaking in Chinese. “Eh?! Okay I’m coming right away! I’m so sorry. No no, I’m not with a boy at this hour. Don’t worry.”
I re-enacted the conversation to the best of my ability.
I never experienced something like this, but that’s the way it was in the movies right?
Parents being overprotective of their daughters.
I looked at Sehun. “I go fast.” And started running.
To my surprise, he started running with me.
I stopped.
He stopped.
“No, No boy. You no.” I said and ran off again as fast as I could.
I could feel him watching me, but I think he turned back after I turned the corner.
Phew.
