Him, Her, Anti-fan and the Cake
Romeo N JulietThe street performance in Hongdae was not of her finest moments with him. But it was the first and deserved to be remembered. (Also, because it was her 19th birthday)
When the cake had been thrown at her direction by an anti-fan, in the middle of the singing Lee Hyun Chul’s Superstar, he swiftly protected her from suffering a great humiliation, covered her with his entire muscular frame.
That was the first time someone, other than JB, did the saving. Her entire body froze; her brain went numb, unable to utter single thanks on the spot. That much she remembered after the cake hit his shoulder.
After the performance, they brought her to Principal Joo’s fried chicken store, minus Teacher Yang. The principal, with reluctance, served them fried chicken and coke, told them to enjoy their meal. He had no choice. They were the only customers he had for the day and because of a certain attachment for that troublemaker and his former students (the time he lost his job, thanks to President Lee Kang Chul). There, they celebrated her birthday with Hong Joo’s singing, a little dance from Ui Bong. It made her smile, even if it was a small, almost fake like-one.
It was something that she could never understand fully, given the many years had passed. She, Rian the idol, was treated with kindness despite her initial cold reactions towards the lower class students and unintentionally booted Haesung, the original member of the band, off from the performance. They accepted her, no questions asked, no spiteful eyes staring at her, no ill feelings.
While the other dug their hands into the plate once chicken was served, she gave the food long unmoving stare. Souring the mood involuntarily, until Yoo Jin made the first move, handing her a piece of chicken that he was about to munch, told her to eat up. Not the others. He even joined in bashing (not really) her anti-fans. She cast a quick look at him, beaming with a smile.
And it was that same moment, her views on him changed. Somehow, the bad boy of Kirin High was not as bad as people think he was. Just a troublemaker, with a heart of unprocessed gold.
