Chap 5

Taeyeon’s Penthouse, Seoul

I am looking for my daughter because I told her that we will go grocery shopping because we will bake a cake and cookies tonight. Jiyong and I are planning to tell our daughter that I said ‘yes’ in marrying her Appa. Jiyong went out for a while to meet Dami Eonnie. So I took a nap beside Jiyeon but when I woke up after thirty minutes, she’s not beside me anymore. I went out of the room, thinking that maybe she’s in the kitchen but she wasn’t there. I am about to go to her room when I saw that the door of my old room is open, I can see Zero watching Jiyeon as my she sits on the floor.

“Jiyeon? Baby? What are you doing here?”

The pile of baby photo album is in front of her. I just remembered that I got these delivered last week because our other house is currently under renovation. These are Jiyeon’s precious baby photo album. I sit beside her, looking intently at her reaction towards the photos. In her hand is my pregnancy photo album. I just realized how detailed I was in creating that photo album. I guess it was during those time when I got nothing to do but eat and sleep.

“Did you find something interesting?”

I asked as she keep on reading each page. I cradled her in my arms as she continues browsing. I can’t help but reminisce those days too.

“Omma, what is this?”

“This is you, Jiyeon. This is you inside me at ten weeks. My tiny baby at aged two months and a half. This is the first time we heard your heartbeat.”

Jiyeon read the note beside the ultrasound scan, there it was written ‘My dear baby at ten weeks, with a healthy heartbeat and a size of a strawberry. I love you baby. Mommy and Daddy loves you a lot.’

“Are you with dad during that time? He heard my heartbeat too?”

“Of course, he was there to meet you. Why do you ask?”

“Is he excited to meet me? To hear my heartbeat? Can you tell me more about it, please? Mom, can you please tell me stories during the time you were pregnant?”

“Okay… So once upon a time…”

“Omma, please be serious.”

She whined as I lightly pinch and kiss her cheeks. She’s pouting and I really want to more. I am about to tickle her but her reflex is faster than mine.
