It's no teacher.

Not the student council.

Nor the headmistress or the five cousins.



It was Nicole Jung.


Cousin of Jessica and Krystal.


"Something the matter Nikki?" Jessica worriedly asked.


"Unnie! I can't get through our classroom."

"How 'bout I give it a try cuz?" Krystal said.

"Fire away Krys."

Krystal stood behind the blockade in front of their classroom that she and Nicole are supposed to be.

"MOVE."

Everyone froze, well, not literally.

They just felt shivers in their spine.

Slowly they were turning their backs like robots to the familiar voice.

They found Krystal in her serious ICY disciplinarian mode.



'EEEEEEEEK!' They all shouted in their heads.



Then in seconds the crowd dispersed.

"Thanks cuz! You are really the best!" Nicole was hugging Krystal who just smiled at her cheery cousin.

As they entered, Krystal caught glimpse of what was on the blackboard.

The room was covered in a lot of decorations.
 

KRYSTAL'S P.O.V.



‘WLECOME to AFX SONE's Interantional School for Girls AMBER!'

Such banner was in front.

What the heck? All for some new student they blocked our room and did all of this??

"Lovely isn't it Krystal?" Sulli, my bestfriend since time immemorial, chirped gleefully from behind us.

"So where is this new kid in town then Sul? Have you seen her?" Nicole asked.

I also did not see Amber.

Maybe she is doing some gangster extra-curricular activities and decided to skip classes.

The teacher entered few minutes later and still no new kid.

Why am I even concerned?

Best not to get bothered.

Sulli sat to the chair on the right next to mine within our row.

Nicole was in front of Sulli.

The teacher was calling our names for attendance.

"Jung Krystal?"

"Here."

Jung Nicole?"

"Here!"

"Li Yu Amber?"

No response.

"Li Yu Amber?"

By this time, someone suddenly entered from the window.

Like a stunt, appearing out of nowhere.

It was a dashing entrance.

Like in slow motion, a modern knight stood up from curled, one bent knee position like that terminator guy did in the movies.

Flipping her hair and calmly brushing off leaves from the suit.

Amber.

It was her.

"Here. Mianhe for being late teacher."

I felt some fast palpitations going in me.

Along with the class, the teacher was in awe that she just nodded at Amber’s statement.

“KYAAAAAAAAAA ~”



Love struck girls were filling up the place.

Ignoring their screams, Amber then looked around for a vacant chair.

Crap! There's one beside me!

I don't want her to sit anywhere near me!

She gives off bad vibes.

My parents would freak out if they even hear that I would befriend such person.

More so, a tomboy looking girl might make my parents faint.

Maybe?

My unnie would lecture me.

I think?

No offense to all lesbians/tomboys but I am just not into girl to girl relationships.

The last time I remembered it.

There are a lot of lesbs in my school though who would definitely go 'gaga' for Amber.

Not me.

Not Krystal Jung.

I am just straight.

Or am I?

AISH!!

Besides, I have Jonghyun oppa.

*SIGH

Yep, Jonghyun oppa.

He has been currently courting me for over two months now.

My parents approved of him already but said that we are too young to be in a relationship.

So study first then other things would follow later on in life.

Jonghyun oppa just agreed.

Out of all suitors, he was the only one who stuck through my parents, my sister and the waiting including the raging fan boys.

But I am still waiting for that moment were my friends say that you are in love when you would get butterflies in your stomach flying up into your heart.

Maybe in the case of Jonghyun oppa, the butterflies are still in their caterpillar or cocoon stage.

I really don’t know.

Jonghyun oppa is really popular and a gentleman.

Seeing Amber sit down made me snapped out of my thoughts.

I then saw Sulli and Nicole eyeing Amber.

Don't tell me – no way.

These two like Amber????

Geez! If they only know how much ill-mannered this person behind me is.

She's rude.

She's – she's -

"Okay class time for start of term introductions. How about we begin with the new transferee?"

The teacher cut me off with that.

Okay the smiles from our classmates made it too obvious.

AMBER'S P.O.V.

Please let this day go on without me having to talk.

As I was sincerely praying the teacher broke my concentration.

"Okay class time for start of term introductions. How about we begin with the new transferee?"

Me?

Should I or should I not?

"Please Amber Li Yu introduce yourself to the class and give some unique information about yourself or we could ask some questions if you can't think of any."

I cleared my throat.

". . . . What can be considered as unique about me, Amber Li Yu?"

Crap! They might think I am crazy talking to my self.

"I really don't know teacher. I am just an ordinary and normal kid so I guess that would be my unique aspect."

I know its lameness but my mind is not up to these kinds of questions.

Also, not forgetting that I should keep who I truly am should be kept on.

"It's alright Amber. How about I let your classmates ask?"

Before I could protest a lot of hands were up.

Am I going to answer each of their questions???

I want to sit down now.

I want to go home now.

Not the dorm home but home HOME.

I just don’t want to be here answering their questions now.

"Okay kids, I think we just have to limit it to three questions since Amber can’t possibly answer all your curiosity. Hmmmmm - Krystal Jung, you can ask the first one."

When Krystal nodded, the teacher picked two other random students.

KRYSTAL'S P.O.V.

"Okay kids, I think we just have to limit it to three questions since Amber can’t possibly answer all your curiosity. Hmmmmm - Krystal Jung, you can ask the first one."

What will I ask her???

Why me???

I stood up after nodding to the teacher.

"Amber-sshi, I heard you were home schooled until now, what made you enroll here?"

"Not much. My parents thought it was for a good change."

I heard them saying 'oooooooh' after she answered.

Second student: "What things, hobbies or activities you like doing?"

"Too many to mention."

What happened to their eyes?

It seems they are all focused on Amber now and her answers.

But she sure makes the shortest replies around.

Third student: "Amber-sshi, what is your relationship with the new other four transferees?

Is there any other thing we could ask?

"Cousins."

My ears picked up some saying 'wow' or 'ohhhhh' as if to show Amber how interested they are.

"Teacher, mind if I can ask one more question?"

That voice.

It was Sulli giving the teacher her cutesy eyes.

I really think aegyo can sometimes be a weapon of mass destruction.

It can make people hypnotized.

The too much aegyo made our teacher give in to Sul's request.

"Thank you!" Sulli was way too happy for a chance on asking Amber.

She faced Amber who was looking out the window with her hand supporting her head.

Amber seemed to be bored.

"Amber-sshi, are you single?"

SULLI! What kind of question is that?



But I guess if I complain now, it won't be of any use seeing all girls are all ears on the answer.

Amber ducked down and I think I saw her smiling.

Was it an amusing thing to ask?

She then composed herself and sat properly.

"Uhh – Last time I checked, I was and still am - "

Amber was looking up to the ceiling as if searching for answers there.

This time girls were leaning closer to hear every word.

" – si - ngle."

The sound of relief was – uhhh – too loud and obvious?

AMBER'S P.O.V.

This day is boring until certain words perked the back of my brain.

"Amber-sshi, are you single?"

Bwahahahaha! Really now?

Out of all things to ask, you like to know that?

Hahaha! That's amusing!

It's amusing because it made me remember Yuri unnie and a certain girl who was crazily in love with her.

She asked unnie the same question.

Let's just say it ended with Yuri unnie putting on the funniest and biggest moles on her face to make the girl turned off which failed.

Okay got to be calm.

"Uhh – Last time I checked, I was and still am - "

Is it just me or are they getting nearer?

" – si - ngle."

Was that a loud sigh?

What does it mean?

Is it some tradition thing here or just how they usually react when someone answers?

Aish! I really shouldn't bother with such trivial unimportant things.

The class went on.

Then lunch came.

YES! Got to go and eat with my unnies!

I wonder how their day went.

I was about to get up when I felt someone or rather some girls near me.

Be calm Amber.

Don't panic.

Never panic.

ARGH! Why is it it's hard to breathe now?

They are getting close.

Umma!

"Amber, it's okay if we can call you that, right?"

"Yes."

Now please move aside and let me through.

"Amber we were wondering if you'd like to eat with us since it's your first day."

NO! Please don't come any closer.

"Appreciate the gesture but no thanks. My unnies texted me saying they are waiting now for me."

“How about we come with you then?"

NO! Why are you guys really insisting things?

What should I do?

Amber think!

"She already said 'no' Fion."

Oh wait, did I just hear Krystal say that?

Hmmmm – nice timing.

Seeing them clear the way for me to pass I quickly got up and was about to exit to the door.

Before that I was passed by Krystal and whispered, "Thanks. I owe you one."

Two more steps then – FREEDOM!!!

Suddenly an arm made its way to headlock me.

I know who it was.

Yoona unnie.

"Ahjussi…ah-jus-si. . . "

"Okay I think you had enough. Are you still breathing? Hahaha."

What a nice question unnie.

"Luckily, still can unnie."

"Good, let's go and meet up with the others in the cafeteria."

CAFETERIA

AUTHOR's P.O.V.

"Where are they unnie?"

Amber asked Yoona who was going to drool at the sight of people eating.

Someone texted Amber and Yoona at the same time.

FROM: KkabYul

MESSAGE: Let's eat at the secret place. Too many girls. Sooyoung almost had gone berserk seeing she can't go and stand up in case she'd take another few rounds to eat.

Yoona and Amber nodded at each other in agreement.

LUNCH TIME

KRYSTAL'S P.O.V.

"Thanks. I owe you one," Amber whispered behind my ears so only I could hear it.

Amber whispering with such husky low voice awoke some senses in me and boy does it give shivers to my spine.

Not the cold kind of shivers.

More like warm and can-melt-you kind of shivers.

It was so warm that it made my cheeks warm too.

"Kryssie, you okay cuz?" Nicole asked me while putting her hand over my forehead.

Was I in a daze?

"Well – uhhmmm I am alright Nikki."

"Let's go and eat lunch. We know how you and Sica unnie usually sleep after a good meal."

That for sure will happen.

As we arrived at the cafeteria, I saw Amber with some tall girl, one of her cousins.

They were looking around then looked at their phones.

After that they went out.

Wonder where they had run off to?

We went to our usual reserved table where my unnies had just arrived.

While eating, my unnies were chatting about the newbies.

TIFFANY: "Gosh! I think the five are hot minus the intro they had on the dorm. Their 'bad rep' is very y. In my opinion, Taeyeon, Yuri and Amber are the most appealing."

SUNNY: "And I haven't met a real life shiksin before that day. Sooyoung is thin though she gobbles much food. Can you believe how much she ate? One minute, she had chips. The next thing you knew she had two more! Even at class, is never empty."

SEOHYUN: "Unnie, I am excited during music class. I finally have someone to share my passion for it. Did you know that Yoona acts and knows how to sing and dance?"

JESSICA: ". . . . ." (Was in a dazed state.)

KRYSTAL: Unnie! Look! It's Taeyeon and Yuri unnie!

JESSICA: "Huh?!? Where?!?! What are those troublemakers up to now?"

They were all shocked.

KRYSTAL: "Unnie what's gotten into you? Did they do anything that made you like this?"

TIFFANY: "Don't mind her Kryssie. She was pretty much like that ever since Yuri was so cool being serious in class and answered most of the questions the teacher was asking. I wonder if those five also are all the same and more."

JESSICA: "She was not even taking down notes Tiff! I was wondering if they are some sort of android or alien. Maybe they are. They knew that much and even prepared our meals!"

KRYSTAL - So you have finally met someone who outshines you in class huh? Kukuku.

SUNNY: "Speaking of food, they actually make very delicious meals. I don't mind them making it for me each day."

SEOHYUN: "They really are knowledgeable about such things unnie. I wonder if I could pay back this gesture they are showing us."

TIFFANY: "That cooking is added points for me. Seohyun, if you plan on cooking for them. I can help."

Sulli, Nicole, Krystal, Sunny and Seohyun choked.

JESSICA: Guess I could lend a hand too if you have decided on it.

Sulli, Nicole, Krystal, Sunny and Seohyun choked again.

Good thing they were still able to Heimlich each other from the clasps of death.

Or slap each other on the back.

(This is not impossible. It can be made possible. Since, I am the writer. :D)

DORM

AMBER'S P.O.V.

We were having fun goofing around until we arrived at the dorm and we saw the kitchen was in a mess.

"Did these guys have some food fight or something?" Yuri unnie asked as she picked a banana peeling on the floor.

There was a lot of mess coming from the kitchen and some were in the living room.

"It stinks in here." Taeyeon tried her best not to breathe the air and almost went blue.

Even though I am not near the stove, I said, "Something is still cooking and it is burnt."

My four other unnies were in alert mode.

FIRE!

We dropped our things and ran towards the kitchen.

Our clothes sagged along with our shoulders as we saw five girls with pots, pans and ladles.

Are they in some food battle?



YURI: What are -

TAEYEON: - you four girls -

SOOYOUNG: - doing to -

YOONA: - this kitchen??


The place was not in a mess.

It was turned upside down.

This is not the kitchen anymore.

More or less, this is what you call the ‘dump’.

My unnies were still surprised how much these dorm mates we have could damage one kitchen in a short span of time.

Also, have I told you that they don’t like messes? Especially in the kitchen?

YURI: OUT.

JESSICA: B-but –

YURI: I SAID OUT.

TIFFANY: We are trying to cook.

TAEYEON: You already failed at the word ‘try’ what’s more ‘cooking’?!?!?

SUNNY: We were just hoping to cook some for you guys.

SOOYOUNG: But you are wasting instead of cooking.

SEOHYUN: It was just our way of saying thanks.

YOONA: More like revenge. Look at this place?!?

KRYSTAL: We can clean it up. Sorry for failing to show our appreciation towards you five.

AMBER: Enough. You five wash up. We will clean up and prepare dinner.

JESSICA: B-but –

YURI: You heard her. Do that before we change our minds.

TIFFANY: We’d like to help you!

TAEYEON: Start helping by cleaning yourselves up. You are girls but you really stink now.


They just realized how smelly they are so the five of them had reddened cheeks.

After slowly, putting the utensils they went to their rooms.

We, on the other hand, raised our sleeves and did what we like best – A CLEAN KITCHEN.

KRYSTAL’S P.O.V.

When I got out of the shower, I went to my closet to get some comfy home clothes and a pair of shorts.

Me and my unnies went outside our rooms to have our nostrils filled with the nice aroma of food.

Our nose followed the source.

Mmmmmm - Good food.

The smell enticed us to go downstairs then we heard something.

There were clanking of pots and some sizzling that made us open our eyes to our five other dorm mates in the cleanest kitchen we have ever seen.

My vision was then focused at someone with a pink apron around her.

Amber cooking is really something.

She is so serious.

Seriously hot cooking.

She was tasting the food a bit then added some condiments that I don’t know then stirred it a bit then tasted it again.

This time she smiled in satisfaction.

Her smile is another thing too.

I was about to continue observing until Yuri unnie spoke up.

YURI: “Wow! You guys are done already?”

TAEYEON: *Clears throat “So why don’t you have a seat?”

My unnies were deaf somehow.

YOONA: “If you don’t sit down, I will carry each of you to your seats.”

SOOYOUNG: “Or how about we could just eat the portion of their meals Yoong?”

That did the trick.

We had gone to the dining table.

A few minutes later, Amber came out first while wiping her hands with a towel.


She said,

“Our meal will be first comprised of bird’s nest soup.”

Sooyoung unnie placed a bowl of it to each of us.



“Main dish will be korean barbeque short ribs.”

Yuri unnie came out with that mouth watering food.

Such a splendid thing of beauty that with one sight you can already feel it in your mouth as you softly chew on it.

“Then of course some kimchi.”

By this time, Yoona unnie carried the most delicious looking kimchi I have ever seen.

Every second that pass us by the more alluring all the things happening are to us.

Especially the food!

Amber finished talking about the food entrees with “Well, that’s it for now. Let’s dig in.”

As we were about to feed ourselves.
