*Stella looks back at Bangkok Airport as she heads back to Korea. 

 

Stella’s mind: Goodbye BamBam.

*After BamBam’s death, Stella has gotten depressed and blames herself for his death. She hasn’t gone out much and it has gotten her parents worried.

 

Stella’s mom: That’s it!! It’s time for you to move on, dear!

 

Stella: But umma-

 

Stella’s dad: Your mother is right. You need to move on with your life. You just can’t hold onto your feelings for BamBam any longer.

It’s time for you to have a fresh new start.

 

Stella: But-

 

*Stella’s mom slams the newspaper on the dining room table. 

 

Stella’s mom: How about this? 

An international student program.

And look there’s one for screenwriting!

Dear, you always wanted to be a screenwriter!

 

Stella: I don’t know, umma, appa, I mean-

 

Stella’s dad: Just do it, dear!

Besides, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to follow your dreams.

*Stella hesitates for a bit before she looks up at her parents with a soft nod.

A few weeks later…

Bangkok Airport

 

*Stella arrives at the airport. She sighs deeply.

*Stella takes a deep breath and exits out of the exit gate when she sees a Thai couple waving their hands up in the air and calling out her name.

 

Dew’s mom: Stella Kim, over here!

 

*Stella approaches them

 

Stella: Sawadee kaa

 

Dew’s dad: Welcome to Thailand! *hugs her*

 

Dew’s mom: We’re going to take good care of you during your stay here. You can call us aunt and uncle in the meantime.

 

Stella: Okay thank you.

 

Dew’s mom: Ah Stella, meet Dew. He’s my son and a freshman at the university you’ll be attending on Monday.

 

*Dew smiles and sticks out a hand towards her

 

Dew: It’s nice to meet you P’Stella or should I call you Stella nuna?

 

*Stella shakes hands with him

 

Later…

 

*Stella is unpacking her belongings in her new bedroom when Dew suddenly knocks on her bedroom door.

 

Dew: How are things going along?

 

Stella: Not bad I guess thanks.

 

Dew: Do you want me to help you, nuna?

 

Stella: *politely declines* Oh no it’s okay. I’ll be fine thank you though.

 

Dew: No worries. I guess I’ll see you around, nuna. *salutes and walks away*

 

Stella’s mind: *sighs* I know it’s going to be hard. But I have to do this. After all it’s for the best.

 

Later that evening…

 

*Stella and her homestay family sit down at the dining room eating dinner but Stella hasn’t touched her food much and his mom noticed.

 

Dew’s mom: Is something wrong, dear?

 

*Stella snaps back into reality and shakes her head.

 

Stella: No nothing auntie. I’m fine. It’s just that I’m not used to this right now. I-

 

Dew’s mom: I know, dear, I know.

 

*Just then Dew speaks up and says-

 

Dew: Nuna, I’m going to hang out with my friends tomorrow, do you wanna join us?

 

Dew’s dad: That’s a great idea, dear! Come on, Stella, dear, you should make some new friends before you start university on Monday!

 

Stella: Okay I guess.

 

Dew: Great! I’m looking forward to it!

 

The next day…

 

*Stella and Dew head to the mall to meet Dew’s friends.

 

Stella: I don’t think it’s a good idea to come here. 

 

Dew: Oh come on, nuna, it won’t be that bad. My friends don’t bite you I promise.

 

Stella: But-

 

*Just then Win and Priya wave to Dew and Stella and approach them.

 

Dew: You guys, over here!

 

Priya: Hey Dew! *handshakes him and notices Stella* Whose she?

 

Dew: You guys this is P’Stella Kim. She’s my homestay.

 

Priya: Nice to meet you. I’m Priya.

 

Stella: Nice to meet you too.

 

Priya: And this is Win. 

 

*Win makes eye contact with Stella and feels like time has stopped. He got mesmerized by her beauty at first glance. Just then Priya snaps out of his thoughts as she elbows Win. Win shakes his head as he snaps back into reality. 

 

Win: Nice to meet you *salutes*

 

Priya: So Stella, what do you wanna do first?

 

*Priya clings onto Stella’s arm and drags her away.

 

Stella: Wait, Priya, wait!!! 

 

Later…

 

*Stella has gotten close with her new friends Dew, Priya, and Win. Really close especially Win.

 

Stella: *giggles* Really? No way!!

 

Win: Yeah that was the worst day of my life.

 

Stella: Really? Are you sure it wasn’t the most embarrassing day of your life?

 

Win: Haha very funny?

Priya: Stella, come quick! 

 

Stella: *turns around and faces Priya* Why?

 

Priya: Just come quick!!!

 

Stella: Coming coming!!

 

*Stella runs in Priya’s direction when her hand accidentally grazes with a stranger. But as she turns around and makes eye contact with him, for the first time she could feel sparks flying. She had fallen in love with a guy she just met. It was fate at first sight. But it didn’t last long as Priya approached her.

 

Priya: Girl, what were you looking at? *looks around*

 

Stella: Nothing. Let’s just go.

 

*Stella takes a few steps before she turns around and sees him disappear. 

 

Stella’s mind: I felt lost in this world for ages and lost the meaning of life.

But why does it seem like you gave me an answer to find the light?
