Irene taking deep breath before speak again “I want to adopt her to be my daughter”

Seulgi immediately looking at his girlfriend. His stare is hard to read, unlike usual. Irene already worry if Seulgi will give negative response. She already plan this and that for the baby. She only waiting for Seulgi agreement. Whatever it is, she need Seulgi agreement before making final decision because this is about the child that they will raise together. If Seulgi not agree then nothing she can do. She need Seulgi by her side to raise the baby. She want both of them do it together and be a good parents even Bubble is not their flesh and blood. Irene anxiously waiting for Seulgi answer

“I…not agree” Seulgi stated with serious expression

Irene tears already threatened to fall down and her chin trembling right after Seulgi giving response. That is the answer that she want to avoid but it come out from Seulgi lips for real. She is really disappointed right now. Seulgi totally don’t understand her. He dare to see the pitiful baby send to orphanage instead of adopting her

“Yah!” Irene yell as she cry then she throw the pillow to Seulgi

“Hyun…”

Without waiting for Seulgi's response, she pulls the blanket and covers herself fully. She cry underneath the blanket

“Bae, let me finish first” Seulgi try to pull away the blanket but fail

“I don’t want to hear anything! You’re heartless! You don’t love me! You’re selfish!” Irene scream under her cry

“Bae, please”

“No!” Seulgi sighs deeply while thinking of the way to explain to Irene. He just staring at the shaking lump beside him

“Seul…Seul Gi…hey, wake up”

Seulgi stirs up from his sleep when someone taps his arm. He slowly open his eyes and saw Mr. Bae staring at him

“Seul, why do you sleep here?” Mr. Bae was puzzled. He woke up early in the morning and saw Seulgi sleep soundly on the couch. Usually, Irene will not let him sleep anywhere if he visit them

Seulgi sit up and stretch his body “Good morning dad”

“Morning. Now tell me, why do you end up here?”

“I wake up early to watch football then continue sleep here after that”

Mr. Bae still is not convinced “Seulgi-ah, don’t lie to me. I already checked yesterday, this morning don’t have any match schedule”

Seulgi scratched his head as he busted so fast. Before Seulgi answering, Mrs. Bae come to living room with little Bubble in her arms

“Why do you two looked tense?” asked Mrs. Then she noticed Seulgi on the couch with a pillow and blanket. His hair still looked messy “Seulgi, did you sleep here last night?”

“Y-yes mom”

“Why?”

“Joohyun kick me out of the room” Seulgi stated honestly

The elder looked at each other confusedly then back to Seulgi “Why did she kick you out? Are you two fighting?”

“Just a small miscommunication” Seulgi giggled “I will fix it quickly mom, dad. Don’t worry”

“Is it about Bubble?” Mr. Bae ask

Seulgi nods his head slowly “She stated her intention to adopt Bubble. I say no that’s why she upset and kick me up”

“So, you do not agree with the idea to adopt her?” Mrs. Bae ask weakly

“No mom, I have other reasons. I want to explain to Joohyun but you know when she is upset. She will close her ears and eyes for any explanation”

The parents agree with Seulgi. They know well how stubborn is Irene if someone against her

“Try to talk slowly with her. I know she will understand you”

“Okay mom”

“Now go upstairs and wash up then we have breakfast together”

“Alright” Seulgi tidy up the couch then leaving with his pillow and blanket

When Seulgi enters the bedroom, Irene is still in the bathroom. He assumed that she would take a bath, judging from the sound of water. While waiting, he lied down and checking his phone

15 minutes later, Irene came out already wearing casual clothes. She staring sharply at Seulgi and still ignore him

“Baby” Irene not giving any response then Seulgi call her again with stern voice “Bae Joohyun”

“What?”

“Sit here” Seulgi pats the spot beside him and Irene obey to him “I’m sorry for making you cry last night”

“Em”

Seulgi takes a deep breath then exhales softly “I said no to your request doesn’t mean I am against your idea. I know you love her so much and I love her as well but I have reason behind my no”

“What is your reason?” Irene ask flatly

“I don’t want to adopt her until we confirm her identity”

“But you already read her document and the letter from her father”

“That is not convincing enough for me” Seulgi turns to his right to look at Irene “Look at me” he pulls her to sit facing him “You know that these days criminals can happen in any medium, right?”

Irene nods her head then Seulgi continues “What if the baby is kidnapped from her biological family and then the criminal sends her to us so that they escape from law? Like they are using us as escape goat”

The CEO immediately looked at Seulgi. She looked really shocked right now. She not utter any words but from her eyes, she acknowledge Seulgi idea

“And then, what if it is planned by your rival or someone who hold grudge on your family? We never know what people could do to drop our reputation. They could send her to your family then when she grow up and inherit some of your wealth, they will claim her and use her to get what they wanted. Human are creative in so many ways now, Hyun. I don’t want us to fell in someone trap. We couldn’t careless and let our guard down just because of cute baby. If her family give her properly to us, I not hesitate to adopt her to be our child but the way they leave her at the gate already suspicious”

Irene zoning out as she think about Seulgi reasoning. She feel guilty for kicking Seulgi out of the room last night but she can’t be blame fully because she emotional. She badly want to adopt the baby but Seulgi shocking her with his answer. Knowing that she tend to short-temper, Seulgi should use other word instead of directly showing rejection

“Bae, you alright?” Seu
