Ten
Unforeseen CircumstancesJeongyeon walked down the road to the hotel she was staying at, her hat and mask kept on so no one would recognize her immediately. She hated having to hide, but at the same time this was the life she had chosen. She had chosen to go into this field of work.
She walked into her hotel room, a sudden sense of both relaxation and loneliness had hit her. Relaxation of being out of the public, but loneliness from the lack of everything. She missed hearing Tzuyu’s giggles when she got home, talking to the girl about her day and enjoying her company.
“Why.” Jeongyeon sighed when she heard her phone vibrating in her pocket. She pulled it out to see a call coming in from Sana. “You know you’re supposed to talk to me through the lawyers.” She stated.
“Tzuyu wanted to talk to you.” Sana sighed. “I know what the law is.” She muttered.
“Why does she want to talk to me?” Jeongyeon asked.
“She sees you as her mother, why else.” Sana explained.
“Alright… Put her on the phone.” She sighed. She heard the slight background noise before hearing Tzuyu’s little voice.
“Momma!” Tzuyu giggled.
“Hey TzuTzu.” Jeongyeon smiled.
“When are you coming home? I miss you a lot.” Tzuyu pouted, unaware that Jeongyeon couldn’t see her, but still did anyway.
Jeongyeon let out a small sigh, running a hand through her hair.
“Not for a long time kiddo…” Jeongyeon whispered. “Momma has a big movie to do…” She wasn’t going to tell her the real truth until everything was finalized. Her name wasn’t on Tzuyu’s birth certificate since she wasn’t allowed in the delivery room with Sana. So they both agreed to get that all fixed after, but both of them grew incredibly busy and never got around to it… Only for this to happen and now Jeongyeon was never going to see Tzuyu again because of how the law worked.
“Why? I want you home now!” Tzuyu whined. Jeongyeon heard the hint of sadness in her voice, hearing how close she was to a tantrum if Jeongyeon didn’t promise that she would be home soon.
“Just a few months okay?” Jeongyeon answered. “In time for Christmas.” She whispered knowing damn well it was a lie.
