Chapter 21

From Strangers, To Not So Much

“Hello everyone, my name is Taeyong and I have a story about something Anna and I did a few years ago. On the day Hana was turning twenty, we wanted to throw her a surprise birthday party, but also mess around with her for a little bit, so we came up with a plan to prank her. Around the time Hana was supposed to come home from school, Anna had texted her asking if she could buy some plastic wrap for her. While this was happening, I was at the house getting things ready for the party. When Hana had got back and dropped off the plastic wrap, Sora, my wife, had convinced Hana to go on a walk with her and they both left the house. After they left, Doyoung, my brother-in-law, and I completely wrapped the whole car with the plastic wrap. We wrapped the mirrors, the doors, and we even wrapped the inside of the car too, especially the steering wheel.” There was laughter everywhere but I remembered that day being very exhausting.

“You bought them the material to prank you?” Johnny asked and I laughed while turning towards him.

“The irony right?” He laughed too before we turned our attention back to my brother.

“Once we finished wrapping, we headed back inside and finished with all of the decorations before I texted my wife to come home. Doyoung, Anna, and I just waited by our windows waiting for Hana to come back when I heard a loud screeching sound. We ran out to see Hana stomp towards her car, her face was so red I thought it would burst!” There was more laughing while I shook my head.”She didn’t waste any time either. She went right at the car and started ripping the wrap off and bundling it up before throwing it at us. We were trying to record her expression but we couldn’t stop laughing and dodging at the flying balls of plastic. It even got funnier when she noticed the inside of her car was wrapped too and she yanked open the car door and ripped all of the wrap off. She finally bundled it all up into one big ball and threw it at me, but she didn’t say a word at the end. She stocked into the house only to be surprised by all of the guests that she started crying.” Taeyong suddenly turned towards us and smiled before handing the mic to Anna.

“You see Johnny, our little sister has an abundant amount of patience inside her. She may get irritated or annoyed, but she is hard to anger. She just lets everything simmer inside of her until it gets too much and she pops. But Hana doesn’t yell when she is angry, she cries. That is why Johnny I say this to you that my sister is too nice. She will not say anything to hurt you and she chooses her battles wisely. I ask that you stay by her side and show her that you are there for her. She is precious to us and we are trusting that you will take care of her. But as I say this,” Anna started laughing and we all looked at her curiously. “Johnny if you see her crying and you didn’t fight with her, it will not be because she is angry, but rather sensitive. Hana is easily moved by the smallest things. For example, a while ago we accompanied my brother and his family to a pet shelter to see if we could find a puppy for his kids. I am not making this up as I say, we passed by a litter of puppies in one cage that Hana had stopped and stared at the cage before she bursted out crying. Naturally we all got worried thinking she got hurt but she was crying because she found it unfortunate she couldn’t adopt any of those puppies and give them a better home because she didn’t have the time and she was allergic to dogs.” Laughter rang out and I covered my eyes with my hands.

“Oh this is a disaster.” I groaned into my hands and Johnny busted out laughing before I felt him pat my back.

“But you know she is easily amused. One day we all took Hana to a science museum to see the exhibition and we stumbled upon a video of a bird doing a mate call. I’m not sure what happened but a few seconds later we see Hana fall to the ground and repeatedly hit the floor. Poor Sora got worried seeing as she couldn’t hear Hana make any noise and tried to help her up. Gave the lady a scare though when she made a high pitch sound and then full on started laughing and heaving because she was trying to catch her breath.” People started laughing more as I tried to convey through my eyes to tell Anna to stop.

“So if you see her hunched over and slightly shaking with no sound coming out followed by a high pitched squeal from time to time, don’t be alarmed because she is simply laughing.” Taeyong commented and more laughter rang out and I couldn’t help but cover my cheeks when I felt them get hot.

“But seriously speaking, Johnny.” Anna said while turning towards us with a small smile. “Hana is our youngest sister so naturally we are very protective of her. So I hope you understand when we say this. Take care of her.” From the corner of my eye I saw Johnny nod his head and I dabbed under my eyes when I felt tears start to form. Everyone clapped as Taeyong and Anna walked back to their tables and the DJ picked up the mic again.

“All right everyone, as that concludes the programs for today we open the dance floor to everyone to come, dance, have fun, and enjoy that day as we all celebrate the marriage between this lovely couple.” The room once again started applauding, which was followed by whistles and screams as the first song started to blare around the room. I once again glanced around the hall and fell in love with all of the decorations. There was a chandelier covered in pink flowers and vines coming from the chandelier to specific areas of the room. White flower vines covered the walls from top to bottom with fairy lights intertwined in between. There were tiny chandeliers around the big one which made the room more brighter and lively. It really was beautiful to look at. Soon the servers came out and started serving food for everyone while the kids had all gathered into the dance floor to dance around.

“You’re glowing.” I heard from my right and I glanced at Johnny who seemed to be looking at me while smiling.

“I’m happy.” I said as I glanced around the room again to look at the people.

“Good. I’m glad.” I heard him mumble and I was sure I felt my cheeks become wider from the grin I was sporting. The food was then served to us and I looked to see that it was steak with potatoes and asparagus. In front of us the servers placed two champagne flutes and another server came by to pour the champagne. They all bowed to us before leaving and I just stared at the flute watching the golden bubbly drink foam at the rim. “To a new beginning.” I heard Johnny say and I looked over to see him holding his flute out to me. I smiled before I picked up my flute too.

“To a new beginning.” I replied back before lightly hitting his flute and took a sip from the glass, immediately wincing at the bitter taste. I heard laughter and watched Johnny place his glass down before turning towards me.

“We can ask for something else.” He said but I shook my head. The last thing I need to be doing is making people's lives miserable all because I didn’t like a drink.

“It’s not going to kill me. Plus it’s not so bad.” I took another sip to prove my point but that backfired when the bitterness hit my tongue and I felt my face scrunch up. Johnny started laughing again and I placed the flute down. I gestured towards the food and we both lifted the utensils to start eating. Half way through the meal, we were interrupted by Eunji, who mentioned that we had to cut the cake. We both followed her to the area where the cake was, and I couldn’t help but gawk at the extravagance of the pastry. I would have used the work extra. Five tiered white cake with colorful flowers cascading down the pastry in a spiral with pearls and crystals in every nook and cranny.

“Is this edible?” I heard Johnny whisper and I looked up to see him covering his mouth with his hand and his eyes wide and staring at the….can I even call this cake? Eunji handed us a knife that was bedazzled in more crystals and pearls. Hold up, is that…? I peered closer at the knife towards the pearls and did everything in my power not to facepalm. They put actual pearls...on a knife…..are you kidding me. I didn’t realize that while I was having my dilemma, our family and friends had already gathered around us. I looked up to see Taeyong and Sora staring at the knife with wide eyes and I looked towards Anna, who was shaking her head while covering her eyes with her hands.

“Now if the couple can cut the cake.” I heard the DJ and looked towards his area to see him quiet down the music before I turned towards the cake and glanced at Johnny, who was still staring at the cake with a frown. We both held the knife and cut a slice of the cake and figured it would be best if we didn’t feed each other. Thankfully, our mothers didn’t force us and motioned for everyone to return to whatever they were doing.

“Was something wrong with the knife? You and your siblings looked horrified.” Johnny asked and I squinted at the cake before turning towards him.

“That knife is covered in pearls. Like actual genuine pearls.” I replied back and Johnny’s frown came back.

“How do you know if they are genuine?” Johnny asked as we slowly walked back towards our table.

“I was taught to identify different types of stones and clothes. Especially if the material is the real thing or fake. Also being one of the heirs to the fashion and cultural industries, I have to know about these kinds of things. Didn’t you have to learn about these kinds of things too?” I asked as we reached our table and I took a seat. Johnny shook his head again before replying.

“Not to this extent no. Since my family only focuses on the medical aspect, I didn’t have to know much about these kinds of things except for the important objects, like gold and diamond. The bare minimum really.” I nodded my head but was soon distracted when the photographer came to greet us. Here we go again.

“Let’s take some pictures with your guests.” I held in my sigh and smiled as I got up. Johnny stood up and held his arm out to me, which I grabbed and we slowly walked from table to table. We started off with the tables full of guests I didn’t know of. They were guests Johnny’s family invited, business investors simply put. We talked with them for a few minutes and took some pictures before we moved to the next table. This kept going on for maybe thirty minutes until we reached a table full of half of my cousins, the married ones actually.

“Hana why would you group us away from the younger cousins?” Taeil whined when he saw us walk up to their table. I laughed before I pointed towards the adults table.

“Ask my mother. I wasn’t in charge of this.” I said and Taeil looked wronged by my answer. Areum patted his shoulder while rolling her eyes and turned towards us.

“Oh ignore the big baby. He’s just upset he’s not able to make the boys' lives miserable.” I turned towards the table consisting of the guys and scoffed before turning towards the eldest cousin.

“More like making your life miserable. They bully you as much as you do to them.” I said causing Taeil to frown before gazing back at the said table.

“Not if I can help it.” I heard him mutter and I couldn't help but shake my head.

“Aunty Hana, will you come dance with us later?” I turned around at the sound of the tiny voice and saw Renjun peering up at me with a pout. I laughed and bent down to pick him up before placing him on my hip.

“Sure we can dance! Is there anything special you wanted to do?” I asked and Renjun looked around with wide eyes before they settled on something behind me.

“Uncle, what’s your name again?” Renjun asked and I turned around to see Johnny smiling at the child.

“My name is Johnny. Can we be friends?” Johnny asked before placing his hands out towards Renjun, who leaned back a tiny bit.

“It’s ok. He’s nice.” I prompted, causing the child to look at me before he slowly inched towards Johnny. Johnny slowly leaned over and took the kid into his arms.

“Wow, look at that height difference.” I heard Lucas snicker from behind me. I turned and glared at him before smacking him on the stomach, causing him to whine.

“At least I can take a hit.” I grumbled causing him to turn towards the table.

“Sicheng she’s being mean to me again!” Lucas complained and I turned to look at Sicheng, who facepalmed.

“How are we the same age?” I asked, causing Kun to laugh.

“At least you’re not his brother.” I heard Xiaojun say as he was walking up behind Lucas, followed by Ruolan.

“Or his twin.” She said and smacked Lucas on the arm when he glared at her.

“Why are you all being mean to me honestly!” Lucas yelled and we all laughed at him. Soon I heard the music change into something more upbeat and I saw all of the kids come from all over the place and towards the dance floor. I saw movement from the corner of my eye and looked towards Johnny who was smiling at a giggling Renjun and I couldn’t help but be amazed. That kid never opened up to others so quickly.

“Strange right? It’s like he’s some sort of magnet with kids. Does he have any siblings?” I looked behind me and saw Sicheng standing next to me with a small smile.

“No, he’s an only child. But he does seem to have kids wrapped around his finger.” I said and Sicheng hummed. He then moved around me towards Johnny.

“Renjun, everyone's dancing. Why don’t you go join?” Sicheng asked the child, who turned towards the dancefloor and saw all of his friends. He quickly started to struggle in Johnny’s arms and Johnny gently placed him down before the kid ran for it.

“You have to admit though, they have really outdone the banquet hall.” I heard Jin Ae say and turned to see her admiring the flowers all over the ceiling. “I mean, if I’m going to be honest, it looks like spring came and just threw up everywhere.” I laughed at her comment and she turned towards me with a smirk. “Don’t you think so?” I shrugged before replying.

“You know my mother. She tried to figure out how much extra she can be and then doubles the extraness.” I said and she laughed.

“But if we are being honest, the flowers do bring a slight fairy wonderland theme, don’t you think so?” I heard Jaehyun’s voice and glanced behind Jin Ae to see him walking up behind her. Jin Ae turned around with a raised eyebrow and Jaehyun smiled at her.

“And who are you?” Jin Ae asked and Jaehyun out his hand.

“My name is Jung Jaehyun.” Jaehyun replies and Jin Ae stared at the hand for a few seconds before placing her hand in his. Jaehyun bent down slowly and kissed the back of her hand and I felt my eyes become bigger. Did he just…?

“I apologize for his ridiculousness.” I heard Johnny and looked up to my left to see him covering his face and shaking his head.

“I thought it was pretty smooth.” I whispered back and Johnny looked at me with wide eyes.

“You call that smooth? What if I did that to you?” he asked and I immediately started fake gagging, causing him to laugh.

“Come dance with us aunty! Uncle you come too!” I felt tiny hands grab me and looked down to see Haechan pulling my arm while Jeno and Renjun were attempting to pull Johnny by his pants. I leaned back and yanked Lucas by the arm and there was a whole bunch of grabbing and yelling before all of the cousins and us ended up on the dance floor. The lights were dimmed and disco lights started spinning around the room. Soon I started jumping around with the kids and looked at Johnny, who was also jumping around the children. I wasn’t sure how much time had passed but I could feel my ankles crying for help that I had to go sit down. I found a nearby empty table and sat down and breathed for a second before I leant forward to take my heels off. Once the shoes were off, I noticed that my table had four more occupants. Johnny, who was sitting on my right, handed me a glass of water which I accepted gratefully. I looked towards my left to see Mark, Jaehyun, and Ten, all of them looking exhausted.

“Man I can’t believe you dance for an hour straight with heels on.” Mark said and I sat up in shock.

“An hour?!?!” My pain tolerance really became longer.

“Have you figured out how you wanted to celebrate yet?” Ten asked and I frowned at the question, thinking. After a minute I had an idea, but I wasn’t sure if it would work.

“Well, we haven't seen the house yet.” I said while glancing at Johnny, who shook his head. “And I’m pretty sure it’s a new house with barely any furniture or color.” I went on and the guys all looked confused on where I was going with this. “Maybe you guys can come over the next weekend and we can paint the house and rearrange everything. Possibly have a sleepover too? I don’t know, I was just wondering. We don’t have to of course.” I finished and the four of them kept glancing at each other and I felt a little awkward and regretted it. You shouldn’t have said that! Now they’re  going to think you're some weird person. You should have said something basic like lunch or going to the amusement park. I opened my mouth to take back the whole idea but Jaehyun beat me to it.

“That actually sounds like fun. Even though you're making us work.” I looked at the other three in worry but none of them were showing any signs of discomfort or irritation.

“We get to paint!? I’m going to paint my own things on the walls!” Mark exclaimed.

“No one give him the paint brush!” Ten immediately retorted causing Mark to deflate. Then the three started talking over each other, Mark wanting to paint, Ten not letting him, and Jaehyun trying to calm them both down but failing. I looked at Johnny, who was looking at the three and I think I saw his left eye twitch. But he must have noticed me looking at him because he looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

“Was that okay? Should I have said something else? I can change it.” I said in a hurry and Johnny sighed before he grabbed my right hand and held it in both of his.

“What you said was fine. In fact it sounds like a great plan. Only change it if you want to but I like it, okay?” He looked at me and I nodded, which caused him to smile and squeeze my hand. “I want you to make your own decisions with confidence. I’m not here to tear you down. I am here if you want to talk to me, in fact let me make a promise right now. I promise to never make you question yourself, or even make you feel you are worth less than what you are, okay?” I could feel my eyes start to water but I held it back and nodded, not really trusting myself to speak just in case my voice breaks. Johnny reached for my other hand and held it before giving both of them a squeeze.

“Oi Romeo! Juliet! We have some questions for you!” I heard Ten yell and I turned around to see all three of them looking annoyed.

“Hana they really won’t let me paint!!!” Mark huffed and lightly smiled at him.

“It’s ok Mark, you can help me paint the rooms while they paint the living room.” I said, causing him to yell out a triumphant sound and Ten shake his head at me.

“You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into Hana. What follows this guy is a mess wherever he goes.” Ten said and I just shrugged before looking at both him and Johnny.

“It’s not like we’re going for some abstract theme so it shouldn’t be so hard right.” I said and smirked when both of the guys eyes went wide.

“Hey!” Johnny yelled.

“Now listen here!” Ten yelled over him. I laughed and Mark joined in.

“Them both being the same age has suddenly become a dangerous thing.” Mark and I laughed more but stopped when a few other people sat at our table.

“You would think after the multiple weddings we attended that I would remember dancing in heels is a no go.” Anna complained while reaching down to take her shoes off.

“If it makes you feel better, I just took off my heels too.” I said and Anna groaned before laying her head on Doyoung’s shoulder, who was sitting on her right. Sora, who was sitting on Anna’s left, sympathetically patted Anna on the shoulder before she also reached down to take her heels off. Taeyong showed up then and took off his blazer and placed it on his chair before sitting down on Sora’s left. Sora grabbed Taeyong’s right arm and wrapped her arms around it before she also laid her head on his shoulder. Taeyong looked at her before he reached up to twist away the stray strands that were framing her face. He then looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.

“How’s your feet?” He asked and I decided to become all dramatic and fell back in my chair.

“My feet are throbbing. I swear if my feet could talk it would be yelling at me right now.” I groaned out and he chuckled before glancing behind me with a raised eyebrow. I looked next to me to see Mark, Jaehyun, and Ten looking at my siblings with wide eyes and open mouths. I sat up quickly and gestured to them. “These are Johnny’s best friends. Meet Mark, Jaehyun, and Ten.” I then turned towards them. “Guys these are my siblings, My brother and sister Taeyong and Anna. And these are their spouses Doyoung and Sora.” Sora raised her hand with a small smile, Anna beamed at them and the other two nodded their heads.

“Nice to meet you all,”Taeyong said and the three guys just nodded their heads. Are they okay?

“Johnny? Hana?” I looked towards Sora, who was looking at us both. “We had all taken a look at your house and added a few pieces of furniture around the area. Not much because I still didn’t know what you guys will like. If there are things you don’t like then tell me and I can return it.” Sora continued and Johnny smiled at her.

“Thank you so much for your help with that.” Johnny said and Sora smiled back.

“How did the house look to you guys?” I asked and Doyoung spoke up.

“It’s not a small house, but it’s not that big either. And it's a double story.” Great. Stairs.  My worst enemy.

“Johnny, she did mention she was clumsy right?” Anna asked him quickly with wide eyes and Johnny nodded frantically.

“I did advise mother it would be a bad idea to get you a double story house but she thought we were being unreasonable.” Taeyong muttered and I couldn’t help but swallow hard.

“You all make it seem like Hana is a complete klutz.” Jaehyun said and we all turned to him with a deadpan look.

“That’s because she is. Yesterday she tripped and hit her face against the wall. There was even a bruise on her nose.” Anna said and I couldn’t help but touch my nose and flinch when pain shot up around the area.

“A few weeks ago she was walking down the stairs in our house and there was a box that one of the kids had left on the stairs. She stepped on it and fell down the stairs.” Sora said and I remembered that day painfully.

“I think you bubble wrapping her will be the most effective way to keep her in one piece at this point.” Doyoung told Johnny, who was staring at me with wide eyes and I was trying to look at anything else but the people at the table.

“So...so you’re basically a walking hazard...to yourself?” Mark asked and I couldn’t help but groan and cover my face in embarrassment. Before anyone could say anything else, our table was surrounded by kids.

“Guys you said you would come dance with us!” Haechan whined as he pulled on Anna’s arm.

“Yeah we still want to keep dancing!” Jaemin also added as he and Jeno tried to push their mother out of her chair. Renjun just showed up next to me and made his eyes go really wide as he stared up at me. Dammit it’s the puppy dog eyes. I groaned and got up, causing him to giggle and run away. I walked away from the table only to realise that none of the guys had gotten up. I looked at the table to see that they were all talking with each other and walked away. Well who knows when the next wedding happens. I shrugged and started dancing around with the kids. Since the heels were off, it was like I had more energy than before and danced my feet off. I lost track of time when Eunji came up and told me that it was time for Johnny and me to make our exit. I quickly walked back towards the table where shoes were and Johnny was still there talking  to the guys. He looked towards my way and smiled before he sat up straighter.

“Did Eunji come and tell you?” He asked and I nodded before I looked around for my heels. Once I found them and slipped them on, Taeyong spoke up.

“I guess that’s our cue to start rounding up the family.” He got up, followed by Doyoung, and they both left to go to the dance floor.

“We will see you guys later.” I heard Ten and glanced at him to see him and the others standing up from their chairs. Johnny also stood up and turned towards them.

“Thanks for coming guys.” He said and I smiled while nodding in agreement.

“Yes! And we will see you all this weekend right?” I asked and Mark had the biggest grin I had ever seen on him.

“Let's get our painting game on!” Mark yelled and we all laughed at his excitement. I heard an increase in noise and turned around to see everyone slowly trickling outside. Soon it was just us both left in the room along with Eunji, who was looking at her clipboard and the photographer.

“Let’s have a few shots of you both dancing really quick.” The photographer said and Johnny and I slowly made it to the dance floor. Not really knowing what to do, we both looked at the photographer, who turned towards the DJ. “Can you play a slow song?” he asked and the DJ nodded. After about a minute, a slow song started and I turned towards Johnny, who also turned towards me with a hand raised.

“May I?” He asked and I nodded before taking his hand. He twirled me around slowly before he brought me back and I was in his arms. While he held one of my hands, his other hand went to my back while I rested my hand on his shoulder.

“Maybe if we talk it won’t be as awkward?” I suggested and he shrugged before he let me go and spun me around again, this time much more quickly, causing me to laugh. He brought me back and we just moved side to side, getting lost in the rhythm of the tune.

“How about something dramatic?” I heard the photographer. Johnny looked up before his gaze returned back to me.

“Get ready to jump.” He said and I raised my eyebrow. Before I could clarify, however, Johnny had grabbed me by the hips and lifted me. Stunned, I let out a small yelp before I started laughing again, as Johnny spun me around while holding me. Once I was back on my feet we heard the photographer yell out one more. More prepared this time, I jumped and Johnny spinned me around quickly before he placed me back on my feet and spun me around more slowly. Slightly dizzy, I couldn’t help but lean a little on him but that didn’t stop a laugh from bubbling out. Knowing that I was more balanced, I backed away a little bit so I wouldn’t end up tripping on Johnny’s foot...or my own.

“All right guys, I got some good shots. It was a pleasure taking photos for you and we will contact you when these photos have been uploaded. And once again, congratulations.” The photographer said and we shook hands with him before he left to go pack up his equipment. Eunji then showed up next to us with a smile.

“All right you two, we have one more thing we have to do and that is to see everyone one more time. Everyone is outside so I just need you to walk through them and then go inside the car that’s waiting for you at the end, ok?” She asked and we both nodded. She then gestured towards the doors and opened both of them where I saw everyone standing there clapping and yelling. As soon as we stepped out, flower petals were thrown at us. . I smiled and waved at everyone as we quickly walked hand in hand through the crowd. At the end was our parents and my siblings, who gestured to us to get in. Once we were in, we waved one more time to everyone as the driver slowly pulled away from the scene. As soon as we were in the clear, I sat back and heaved a sigh.

“Can you believe it’s already 9?” I heard Johnny and I turned to him with wide eyes.

“It’s already 9? No wonder I feel drained.” I said before looking at the driver. “Excuse me sir, but how far are we to our destination?” I asked the driver, who glanced up at his mirror.

“Please madam, call me Jung Hoon. I have been master Johnny’s chauffeur for many years. And we should reach your destination in about ten minutes.” I felt weird having someone who looked like he was the same age as my father call me madam, but I didn’t know if I should address it. What if Johnny doesn’t like it? I thanked him before glancing out the window, trying to figure out if this was something I need to talk to Johnny about or if I should ignore it. I didn’t like it though and figured talking to Johnny seemed like the best thing to do. He did say to go to him if I had any problems.

“Hana?” I heard and turned towards Johnny who was looking at me. “We’re here.” He said, and I turned to look back out the window, only to fight the urge to not do a facepalm.

“What part of this isn’t big?” I muttered and Johnny chuckled before he opened the door and stepped out. He moved to the side so I could get out too and I got a better look at the house once I did. “They said two stories, right? Not three?” I asked again and Johnny nodded. He then turned around and shut the door behind me. There were a few steps in the front of us and four large pillars that we had to pass through to get to the door. I heard the sound of water and turned around to see a large fountain in the middle of the driveway. Actually, the driveway was a circle with a section in the middle that held the fountain and the entrance had a tall gate. Johnny showed up next to me, staring up at the house too.

“Ready?” he asked and I nodded. We both stepped through the stairs and passed the pillars before we reached the door. We glanced at each other before he reached out to push the door open slowly. We stepped through the door and saw a big chandelier hanging right in front of us with two sets of staircases leading up to the second floor. There were large glass windows that were covered with deep blue curtains, the length reaching from the top of the ceiling to the floor. We walked along the corridor where we entered right into the living room. It was a huge room that had a few black leather couches and a big tv mounted on the wall. To the left of the living room was the kitchen, which was open and a small area next to it which I guessed was to have a breakfast table.

“Maybe it would be better to explore more tomorrow. That way it might be easier to take in.” Johnny suggested, and I couldn’t help but nod in agreement. We walked back towards where the stairs were and climbed up. Once at the top, there were a few rooms in the main hallway, and another hallway at the end of this one. Wait. We’re now married. We have to sleep in the same room! I felt my eyes get wide and felt the internal panic. “Since we’re still getting to know each other I think it would be better for us to sleep in separate rooms for now.” Johnny said and I quickly turned to him in shock.

“That sounds like a great plan.” I quickly rushed out and he nodded before gesturing towards the door on my right.

“You can take that room then. I’ll take this one.” He gestured to a door on his left and I nodded before taking a step towards my door. I opened it to see a big room. A wardrobe in one corner and a king sized bed in the middle. There were also two other doors in the room which I guess was for the closet and the bathroom. I heard a knock behind me and turned around to see Johnny standing there. “Did you need anything before we go to bed?” He asked.

“No, I think I’m fine. If I do, I’ll just come annoy you.” I stated and smiled at him, which he returned.

“I’ll see you in the morning then.” He said and I nodded, which prompted him to leave, closing my door on his way out. I turned to look at my bed again before I headed towards one of the doors, looking for the restroom. Welcome to your new life Hana.
