“Seulgi, you’re drooling”

“Hmm?”

“I said you’re drooling.”

Seulgi picks up a tissue and hands it to Yeri. The younger girl slaps the hand and Seulgi quickly turns to face the girl.  

“Hey!”

Yeri rolls her eyes, “I said you’re drooling, not me.”

Seulgi wipes with the back of her hand, “No, I’m not!”

“It’s a figure of speech.”

“For what?”

Yeri points at the table across the room, “Your not so subtle crush on Wendy.”

Seulgi’s cheek start to heat up, “I do not have a crush on her.”

“Yeah and I’m actually from England.”

Seulgi pouts, “I don’t even think she knows who I am.”

“You’re kidding right?”

Seulgi shakes her head. 

Yeri reaches forward and flicks the taller girl’s forehead.

“Ouch! What was that for?”

“For being dense. Helloooo, you’re Kang Seulgi, class president, number one dancer and wanted by almost everyone in this school. You’re also in her class. I’m pretty sure she knows who you are.” 

Seulgi let’s out a sigh, “Almost everyone.”

“She definitely knows who you are. I know because when you’re not looking over here, she’s doing the exact same thing.” 

“Doing what?” 

Yeri groans and resists the urge to slap her friend, “Staring at you! How are you that oblivious. I’m surprised neither of you have made a move yet when it’s clear you’re both attracted to each other.” 

Seulgi begins to twiddle her fingers, “Is she really interested?” 

“I swear on my love for Ariana Grande that I’m telling the truth.” 

“Should I go ask her out?” 

“Yes!” 

Seulgi gets up, “I’ll do it!” 

Yeri claps, “YES!” 

Seulgi takes a step forward, “I’m going in!” 

“Go for it!” 

Seulgi takes another step, “I’m going to do it.” 

“Do it!” 

Seulgi quickly turns around and sits back down, “i can’t do it.” 

Yeri let’s out an exasperated sigh, “Of course not.” 

Seulgi puts her head down, “I’m a wuss.” 

“You are.” 

“I’m not worthy of Wendy.” 

“Why not?” 

Seulgi nearly gets whiplash as she lifts her head up to find Wendy standing a foot away. The girl was standing there with another student from her class, Joy was it?

Wendy rubs the back of her neck, “I, uh...did I say that out loud?”

Joy is quick to step in, “What Wendy means is, she would really love to take you out on a date because you’re definitely worthy of her.”

Seulgi is dumbfounded. Is this actually happening? She looks back and forth between Wendy and Joy. 

“I...”

But before she could finish her sentence, Yeri chimes in, “What Seulgi means is, hows Friday night at 7pm?”

Joy smiles, “It’s a date!”

She pulls out a sheet of paper and quickly scribbles a phone number and hands it to Seulgi, “Text her your address.”

Seulgi nods slowly and mouths ‘ok’ as the two leave the lunchroom.

She then turns back to face Yeri, “Did that just happen?” 

“Yes.”

”Holy ”

She holds up the piece of paper with the phone number on it like it was the golden ticket to a chocolate factory and smiled to herself.  

She couldn’t wait till the weekend.
