One Tuesday Afternoon   “Unnie, you are spacing out.” Rosé pointed out, after noticing that Jennie was staring blankly at her laptop. They are making their respective ‘thank to’ before Red Velvet release their new full album.   “Oh…” Jennie looked at her and then after which pretended to key in some words. “Who else did I forget?”   Kang Jisoo. Her Kang Jisoo.   She couldn’t probably just put his name in there. That spelled DISASTER.   For months now, their relationship has taken a whole new different level.   Long gone are the awkwardness and the childish banters. Arguments were still there but they’ve become less. Jisoo no longer compared how different Jennie was from his previous girlfriends. He learned to put up with her talkative and loudness.   He never thought he’d like her this much.   And he is quite surprised about himself too. The old Jisoo went the flow, with what his girlfriends decided and wanted for him. It’s totally different with Jennie now.   They decided together. And they are growing together.   Their relationship had become more exciting because the more they spend time together the more they need to be careful not to be caught. And it has become a romantic adventure.   They would have very unusual dates such as very early breakfasts – just before 6 in the morning, lunch at 3 pm or very late dinner at around 12 midnights. That is, if they decided to go out. More often than not, they would just hang out at home and watch movies. If they watch movies at the cinemas, they’d pick the most unpopular hour, the most frequent place, the farthest usually. They’d jog in Yeouido Park together with the Halmoni and Haraboji.   They could not go to clubs nor attend friend’s parties together. One time, they attended Jeongyeon’s birthday party, arrived with separate sets of friends. Jisoo came with Blackpink, Jennie with Irene and Jihyo. Jisoo who had a bit too much of wine that night, was too bold to sit beside Jennie. He purposely dropped his phone to the floor (YES, he dropped his iPhone) and when they both reached for it, he took Jennie’s hand and didn’t let go for the rest of the night.     They would go on vacation sometimes. Jisoo and Jennie particularly loved going out of the country because they can really be themselves without restrictions. People often mistake them as newlyweds whenever they go overseas.   Jennie never thought Jisoo actually has that sweet side of him. He was a bit stiff when they have first met although he has this image of being a ‘goofy’, she never guessed he can be romantic, ‘touchy’ and all that. She gets all weak when he just pulls her for a hug for no reason. Most of the time, give he a back hug then kisses her head. Jisoo also has a habit of kissing her hand when he’s holding it.   During Blackpink’s tour, there was a time they haven’t seen each other for two weeks. He flew back to Seoul to see her for thirty minutes. THIRTY FREAKING SHORT MINUTES. They literally just talked, kissed, hugged, kissed, kissed, kissed, kissed, talked and kissed.   They talked every day. (It was Jennie’s requirement even from the beginning). When there are days that Jennie acted (or at least wanted to act) like a brat, she would call Jisoo and make him go to her whenever she is, no matter what time of day. One instance, Jennie wanted him to go to her place at two-thirty in the morning.   “Chu…” she cutely pleaded.   “It’s two thirty, Jendeuk.” Jisoo yawned.   “Ok, sleep tight then. I won’t force you.”   “Goodnight.” Click. Jisoo put the phone.   Three minutes later, he and his Audi were on the road on the way to Jennie’s place. But Jennie fell asleep and Jisoo, no matter how many times he pressed the doorbell and how many times he called her mobile phone – she didn’t answer.   He does not know her door passcode. He had asked for it several times, but Jennie refused to give it to him.   But she knows his, in fact she had changed his passcode several times already. Talk about being fair.   Jisoo has been in Jennie’s house many, many times. He has slept there in fact. But still, giving it to him is something significant for her. For Jennie, it is somewhat giving Jisoo full access to her entire life, no holds barred. She does trust him and like him for sure, but she’s been hurt before. Only her family, Irene and her manager knows her door passcode. Not even Kim Jongin.   Jisoo ended up sleeping outside her door that morning.   When she woke up and let him in, the breakfast they had were everything except words: bacon, French bread, poached eggs, cereals for Jennie , on the couch, and on the bed.   Everything except words.   The growth in their relationship was indeed something both of them admit was really beyond their expectations. It didn’t come off as something shocking as everything happened gradually: hugs were friendly at first then it became protective and warm. Sweet kisses turned steady before it grows hot and passionate. was just plain which became ‘exciting’ at some point but now it’s no longer called se, but love-making for Jisoo and Jennie.   Jennie and Jisoo can finally admit to themselves, at least to themselves, that ‘US and WE’ does exist for Jennie Kim and Kang Jisoo now.   But she still couldn’t thank him in their album cover.   “You- who have always insisted that I am your type… I love…” she stopped. Jennie erased the last part. “You- who always insisted that I am not your type… thank you.” She finished, “Okay. I’m done.”   Rosé peeked on what she wrote, “Hmmm?”   “Hmmm” Jennie repeated.   That’s all that I can say for now, maybe later I can do better. WE can do better.     Tokyo Girls Collection Fashion Show Tokyo, Japan August 2009   “Hi! Did you see Seulgi? he said he’ll just say hi to Jena after we performed, but we couldn’t find him afterwards.” Lisa asked Jena’s model friend Erika.   “I saw them walked that way.” Pointing towards the exit on the left side of the hall.   “Great, we’ll just look for them there.” Thanked Lisa. “By the way, I’m Lisa and this is Jisoo.”   Jisoo smiled at her. He was speechless, he was instantly captivated by the beautiful woman in front of him. It was love at the first sight. Blackpink were guest performers at the annual Tokyo Girls Collection Fashion Show which Jena and her friend Erika were main supermodels.   Erika smiled at Jisoo. She had to leave as someone called for her in the dressing room.   “Erika!!”   “Coming!” she replied. She then turned to Jisoo and Lisa “I have to leave. Good luck in finding Seulgi and Jena.”   Lisa thanked her again and watched her leave, soon after he began looking for Seulgi. Jisoo followed Lisa but his thoughts was still on Erika. He had seen her before but not that up close. He had heard Jena talk about her too, that she was nice girl and all that.   He’s got to know her, he thought.   Soon after, he started to hang out more with Seulgi and Jena. At first, Seulgi didn’t realize what his motives are until finally after a performance in Tokyo, he personally asked Jena if she can bring her friend Erika with her when she watches them.   For months, they pretty much went out on ‘double dates’ until Jisoo had the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend on her birthday.   Travelling back and forth to Tokyo was never an
