Twenty-Five
Before All The Longings

Yifan caresses the head on his lap gently before bending down to place a kiss on its temple. He calls the other's name softly by his ear, careful not to disturb the others around them that are concentrating on the big screen up front. "The movie is almost over."
Joonmyeon opens his eyes slowly, the dark surrounding confuses him a little before a person shouting can be heard and he blinks a couple of times, as everything slowly coming back to him. He was the one wanting to watch this movie. How could he fall asleep in the middle of it?
Yifan helps as the other pushes his body up to sit, smiling as he watches him stretching his arms and legs. He reaches over, fixing the messy hair and wiping the rest of the sleepiness away from the closed eyes. He offers the bucket of popcorn that is almost empty when their eyes meet, earning a headshake as the other scooches closer to his side, hooking their arms loosely.
"What did I miss?"
"The girl ran away from home, and her mothers and her brother are looking for her."
Joonmyeon watches as the two elder women shouting at each other. He might not know the details but he can guess the bicker is the reason why the girl ran away. The adoptive mother was already mad like that even before he fell asleep. He glances to the side, staring at the handsome side profile that is being illuminated by the light from the movie that is playing upfront, mouth busy chewing on the salted caramel popcorn. He tugs gently at the arm in his hold, making the older's head turns to look at him and he pushes his upper body up.
Yifan blinks at the sudden kiss, before feeling his caramel-moisten lips being and the younger pulls away, his own lips as he stares at him. "You said you didn't want any."
"I don't want the popcorn."
The deep gaze coming from the round eyes makes his body voluntarily lean down, without the need of another word, and captures those wet lips with his own, moving the popcorn bucket to the corner of the loveseat as his lower lip being by. He brings his hands up to hold the younger's face but stops when realizing his right one is sticky from the popcorn and breaks the kiss.
Joonmyeon watches with erratic breath and hooded eyes as the older and his right fingers and he yanks the hand away when he finally registers what is going on, bringing the hand to his mouth. The tip of his tongue touches the big thumb, it up and down and giving it a quick before moving to the next finger, repeating everything and doing the same with the middle one too.
A faint 'plop' reaches his ears as his longest finger being pulled out from the puckered lips, soft eyes staring straight into his own pair and Yifan retracts his moist hand, wiping whatever remnants left on it on his jeans and dives back down, cradling the other's face in his palms as he lets his tongue wanders around the wet cavern.
Joonmyeon feels his mind slowly getting dizzy and his vision getting blurry, his hands that are the other's shirt keep loosening and tightening, matching with the intensity of the kiss his mouth is receiving. He just wanted a normal kiss, a few quick pecks but somehow it has turned into this heated one, one that they have never shared before and he starts to wonder why only now they are doing it.
Yifan on the wet tongue, the inside of the small mouth, biting on the lower lip and kissing the upper thin one. He doesn't know what had came to the younger but since the last time they parted, he had been wanting to do this to him. The way his own lips being ravaged too tells him the younger has been holding back all these time. He had scoffed at those couples before, when he sat with Bella in the middle section and his eyes caught the messy appearence of those in the loveseats at the back of the theater as they were leaving. Wasting money on the tickets as they did that instead of watching the movie since they could it at home. But now experiencing the situation himself, he guesses they had the same reason as him doing 'this' here.
Big hand caresses his side and Joonmyeon's whole body feels the static shock coming from it. He brings his trembling hand to his waist, trying to peel off the big hand as it is too much combining with the lips that have left his mouth and is trailing down kisses until it stops at his neck. The sharp pain that quickly being soothed by wet tongue makes him mumble the older's name, before his earlobe being teased by the naughty mouth as a deep voice whispers his name, follows by gradually increase murmurs and brightness of the room.
Yifan parts away quickly, as the people sitting at the section in front of them getting up one by one, preparing to leave and he glances up instantly, watching a bunch of names written in whites against a black background going up and disappears. The last thing he remembers watching was the twin brother finally found his runaway sister. The brother was telling his twis sister what actually happened and he was into the story when suddenly this person next to him made him changed his interest to himself instead.
"We should leave too, right?"
He turns his head to the side, to see a head of messy hair, blushed lips and somewhat erratic chest that is trying to even out its breathing. The mark on the fair neck stands out as the roundneck T-shirt doesn't have any collar to hide it and Yifan reaches his hand out, touching the red spot with the pad of his thumb as the he tries to make it less visible.
Joonmyeon lets the hand be, straightening himself as he faces the older, fixing the crumpled front of the male's shirt before pushing the few strands of hair that had matted on the clear forehead. The big hand moves to tidy his hair and he scans their appearences, smiling when he deems they are fit for the outside world.
"Have everything?"
He nods after patting all the pockets where everything is supposed to be and follows the older from behind, can't help from glancing at the still-occupied loveseats in the row as they pass by. The two pairs he saw looked normal, no trace of fooling around whatsoever, as they should be as the movie was about family, not exactly the kind of movie one would be making out at, unlike them. He looks up at the broad back as they finally out from the theater hallway and into the open space of the ticket booths and concession stands. "Hyung."
"Hm?"
"I'm hungry."
Yifan glances at his wrist watch. It is only just past nine in the evening and the mall closes at eleven on the weekend. He steps on the escalator, holding the younger's hand as he follows suit, standing behind him as they descending to the floor below. "Where do you want to eat?" He feels the small hands massaging his shoulders, and puts his own hand over the right one, taking it in his hold when they reach the bottom.
"How about that restaurant last time? There are still some menu that I want to try."
He looks at the smiling face before reluctantly nod, procedding to take the escalator down again as the said restaurant is on the other floor. The restaurant was just recently opened so they decided to try it that day. That was also the reason why Grace was there; her friend owns the place and she went there to congratulate. He looks up as the restaurant sign comes to view. He hopes it won't happen again this time.
Joonmyeon greets the waiting staff, holding up two fingers at the staff's enquiry. He grips the big hand in his hold, ignoring the look from some of the customers as they pass their table. They are nobody so he doesn't have to care what they think. A table for two at a corner deep inside the restaurant enters his sight and he smiles at the staff, thanking her sincerely as he takes a seat, hand receiving the menu before she left to her work.
"Joonmyeon."
He looks up from the menu, to see the older is staring at him with a firm gaze. He can see something is occupying the other's mind and he reaches across the table, gently caressing the big hand on it. Is something bothering him? "Hyung? What is it?"
Yifan flips his hand and holds the slender fingers loosely, eyes staring into the younger's puzzled ones. It has been almost a month since they started seeing each other like this, and even though this is only their sixth time, he has never been so sure about his feeling towards the other male. He doesn't know what to call what they are having between them and to be honest, he prefers it to be that way. The younger doesn't seem to mind it either and he is grateful for it. He is not trying to hide him from his world; Grace found out by accident and he will find the right time to tell Luhan and Minseok. Bella on the other hand, he just hope she won't hate the younger for it. "Joonmyeon."
"Hm?"
"Stay with me tonight?"
Joonmyeon blinks once, brain processing the words he just heard as his eyes search for uncertainty on the handsome face. The sharp gaze doesn't waver and the grip on his fingers becomes firm. He smiles, nodding slightly before his fingers being lifted up and soft lips kiss his knuckles. He turns back to the meny as soon as his hand being let go. It wasn't his intention for what happened inside the theater to lead up to the invitation just now as he really just wanted a quick kiss. But somehow he hadn't fully woke up yet and his hazy mind stirred something in his stomach at the sight of the older his fingers.
A ringing sound fills the silence between them and Yifan lowers his menu, knowing the sound isn't the one set for his phone and watches the phone being turned around for him to see the screen. 'Dearest dad' is written across the top and he nods without being asked, letting the younger leave their table to anser the call outside. His eyes follow the small back until it exits the place, before turning back to the menu in hand to stare blankly at it, remembering what he just said a few minutes earlier. He is glad the other agreed, as he really had thought this through. He will bring the younger somewhere where they can be alone and be themselves, as they experience their first time together.
"Mr. Yifan."
he snaps his head up without thinking and his eyes widen in suprise at the sight of the too familiar girl in front of him. How did she find him? "Sophia..." A smirk appears on the pretty face and he watches as the younger takes a seat across him without saying anything, before a piercing gaze being directed at him. The other male never talked about it but he had a hunch that just like him, the male didn't tell people around him about what goes on between them either, that he too is waiting for the right time to tell everyone, including the little sister.
"Don't look so suprised. You know this day would come. You just didn't expect it to be like this, where I caught you off guard. You thought you would be introduced properly to me and dad and really, I was expecting the same thing too. I told oppa to bring his boyfriend home when he finally got one but right now, I am glad that he didn't."
Yifan finds it hard to breathe, as he has never seen the younger with that kind of look on her face, with eyes so cold that he can't read anything behind it. The faint scoff sends shivers all over his body, hands gripping tightly the menu he is still holding. He had expected the younger to be mad at him, just like Grace did, when she finally found out that he broke Bella's heart to be with her brother. But unlike Grace, the younger's expression is something more menacing that it supposed to be. Was it really wrong, what he did?
"Never see my brother again." Sophia feels like laughing at the taken-aback reaction this person across her made at her words. It is beyond her understanding how such a shameless person could exist and act like nothing happened. She really just want to leave already as looking at that disgusting face is making her angry by the second and she is being aware of her surrounding, that they are in a public place and she just doesn't want to handle the commotion later. But she still need the older's word that he will never come near her brother again.
Yifan tries to search the real meaning behind those spoken words but the younger's cold expression makes it hard for him to figure out why he being told to do as such. Even if she thinks he is such a horrible person that cheated on his fiancee with a man, the words don't do him justice. It would just hurt everyone if he continued with the marriage. He stares back at the stern gaze. "I can't. I love Joonmyeon. I..." The mock chuckle startles him and he puts his guard up. The person in front of hi isn't the sweet girl he used to know. What had happened that made her changed so much?
"Love? Are you sure it is not guilt? Your way of redempting yourself after what you had caused my brother to experience?"
"What... do you mean..."
Sophia sees the clueless face staring back at ther and she holds herself back from punching that stupid face. "Of course. The one that threw the rock doesn't know they killed a frog or a toad. It was all fun for you and what happened to others was not your business. You lived your life and got yourself a pretty girlfriend, while my brother's life was shattered right before his eyes when it wasn't even his fault."
Yifan blinks repeatedly. Luhan mentioned about this before, that 'he' caused the younger male's life to fall apart. He never even heard about what happened to the younger before and Luhan said he was at fault. But now the little sister is blaming him, and he can tell she wasn't just spouting nonsense and trying to find someone to blame so that it would be another reason for her to hate him more after hurting Bella.
"You can keep this along with the others that you have. I don't need a hardcopy. The one I saved since two years ago is still in my phone, and that is more than enough."
He looks down on the table as a piece of photo being slid over towards him and his body freezes, eyes trying to make sure he is not seeing it wrong as the image of the photo becames clear. A face of an unknown man filled half of the fram but one can still see the two people sleeping at the back, with one had his back, with one had his back facing the camera, his face could barely be seen, being buried by the pillow, but the other one. The other one has his face fully in the shot, sleeping soundly.
"I really, had thrown my hatred for whoever that person in the picture is away after I got my brother back. You really just wasted your luck." Sophia stands up, looking down at this person she once thought was the perfect person for Bella. "Don't ever come near my brother again." She turns to leave but her wrist is caught by a large hand, making her turn back to face the male and yanks her hand away from the grip.
"I can explain!"
"But you can't turn back time!"
Yifan's eyes focus at the finger being pointed in front of his face.
"My brother will never choose you over his family. So disappear from our life!"
His breath hitches at the held back anger before the corner of his eyes catch the familiar figure approaching him. "Joonmyeon..."
"Sophia, let's go home."
He watches as the young girl turns around and heads towards the entrance, an elder man is waiting outside of the restaurant looking at their direction. Was Joonmyeon being called out for Sophia to confront him?
"Yifan hyung."
He shifts his gaze from the entrance to the soft voice calling his name. The younger has a small smile on his face as he meets with his eyes, and the little sister's words being played again in his ears. "Joonmyeon, what happened... after that night?"
Joonmyeon sighs, shaking his head as he takes the photo on the table and folds it once before putting it in his pocket. He stares a the confused face, keeping his smile as he steps a step closer. He had imagined so many ways of Sophia finding out about him and the older but this had never even crossed his mind. He feels bad for him, being confronted in a public place like this. "I apologize for Sophia's behavior."
"Joonmyeon..."
"It was fun, hyung. Thank you for everything."
Yifan feels suffocated, mouth couldn't utter a word and feet couldn't move an inch, as his eyes follow the small back getting further away from him, until it disappears from his sight and leaving him all alone.
