"Okay, you need to tell me what's going on, Jinyoung." This is what Jinyoung heard from Jaebum, the moment his co-surgeon had managed to drag him towards the end of the hallways, near the fire exit of the hospital. 

The older has his hands on each side of his waist, casting him with that look which is a mixture of worry and concern. A while ago, while they were preparing for the surgery, Jaebum probably has noticed that his mind is not with him at the moment and is floating somewhere up in the clouds. Jinyoung knows it isn't a good thing to perform a surgery when his mind is not functioning the way it needs to function so he opted to ask Jaebum to take over the operation. Jaebum just followed his order and let him go on stand by as the rest of the team went on with the surgery. Jaebum also didn't talk right after the operation was declared as successful. But after excusing Jinyoung and himself both from the room, Jaebum is now able to voice out whatever it is that he is concerned about.

However, Jinyoung refuses to cooperate so with a small shrug, he responded back with a question. "What do I need to tell you, Jaebum?" 

And as expected, it made the surgeon's face crumple some more. An exasperated sigh came out of the older's lips before he heard him talk again. "Well first, you let me take over the operation."

"And it was successful, so?"

Jaebum stared at him like he cannot understand a thing he's saying... or maybe why he's talking like how he is talking right now. "It's not like you. What I mean is, it is so unlike you to leave your work on someone else's hands. You seem preoccupied with some other thoughts which you don't usually allow to cloud up your mind especially during working hours. Your actions and pretty much how you interact with us are enough to raise my concern about how things are with you and... well... with Mark."

And there he said it... his name. When was the last time Jinyoung allowed it to slip from his lips? Today marks the seventh day to be precise. 

Staring back at the older's eyes which still contain the same mixture of emotions, Jinyoung could only purse his lips. "We've broken up."

And there he also said it. This is what Jaebum has been waiting for him to say, isn't it? For sure, he and Jackson might have talked about this already. Although, after that last talk he had with Mark, he didn't tell even a word to anyone, not to his mom, not to Yugyeom. He thinks Mark is not the kind of guy who'll go telling even his friends about it either since it is not really something he or Mark would want to talk to anyone about. Even though they both didn't tell their friends about how they ended things between them, Jinyoung is sure they have an idea about it. By now, he knows they're already taking assumptions.

"Not really a surprise." He heard Jaebum say which came with a slight shrug. "I've guessed, since Mark stopped driving and fetching you from work a week ago."

And that is right. That day, was his last encounter with Mark. Jinyoung is still trying to convince himself that he's relieved because of that. Still trying. Putting his hands inside his coat's pocket, he asked the older. "So, what is it that you still need me to tell you?"

"Why." Jaebum answered not more than a beat after. "Why you needed to do what you did." Those eyes remained staring at him as if studying him, like they're waiting for something to show in his own pair of eyes. "Why you chose to break each other's hearts."

And for a short moment, Jinyoung felt like he can't grasp for any kind of answer. But before his mind went back to that scene, that particular afternoon, Jinyoung forced his mouth to speak. "It was wrong." His short response made Jaebum react immediately, with his brow slightly arching as if he was expecting or hoping for a different response from him. With another shrug, Jinyoung continued. "What we had was wrong. Isn't that one clear? Anyone who you will ask will say the same thing: I shouldn't have loved Mark, and Mark shouldn't have loved me. It is wrong. He is Matt's twin and I shouldn't have let myself fall in love with him. It's just.... wrong. It shouldn't have happened."

Almost a minute has passed before he heard something from Jaebum whose eyes he is avoiding. He can't look at those eyes... Jaebum might see.

"These...." Jaebum trailed off. "These things you're saying... did you realize these only now? Haven't you thought of these before you faced your feelings for Mark?"

"I did-"

"But did it stop you from loving him?" Jinyoung isn't able to answer. "Did it, Jinyoung?" Talk, Jinyoung. God damn it! "It didn't, right?" He wants to talk, but he can't find the words to say. "Despite of that clear thing you're saying, about it being wrong... didn't you decide to look past it and just allowed yourself to love Mark?"

Jinyoung wasn't able to say anything yet but Jaebum kept on talking. "And Mark might've thought about it too... that maybe what you both feel is wrong and shouldn't happen which will explain why he tried to stay away before. But isn't it funny? How you both saw how wrong it was, but still continued to dive in. You both listened to what your hearts were saying, and stayed together." 

No, stop. He wants to block his ears to not hear what Jaebum is saying. He doesn't need any more of it.

"And now, you're saying you broke up with Mark because you find this wrong?" There's the sound of disbelief in the older's voice as he asked that. "You found this wrong even before, why didn't you stop then?"

"Because I am in love with him." Jinyoung finally answered, voice restrained. "I'm in love with him, that's why I convinced myself that it's okay. That it isn't wrong. But I cannot convince myself anymore."

"If what you're saying is true... then why doesn't it seem like it? When you were with Mark, you looked genuinely happy. But now... you are not." Jinyoung just shook his head because Jaebum doesn't look like he's stopping this anytime soon. "You keep on saying that what you had with Mark was wrong but... why does it feel like you don't mean it? Why does it feel like you're only convincing yourself to believe that it was wrong?"

"I demand that you eat more, Park Yugyeom. You already skipped lunch at school. Do you need me to feed you right now?"

They are here in their house, eating dinner and they're watching as Bambam nagged at his own brother for not taking care of himself properly, specifically because the youngest has been developing a bad habit of skipping lunch. It's already midterm examination week and Yugyeom has been working his off, stud
