“Sooyoung-ah, how’s your aunt?”

“Still like that, refusing to eat and kept on crying and blabbering something ridiculous.” Answered sooyoung as she takes a seat next to her grandfather, give him a brief hug. “I miss you.” She confessed which earn light taps on the back of her head.

“Eric doesn’t come with you?” her grandfather asks again when she released the hug.

“Oh Jiwoong oppa. He has something to settle, something about the company with uncle so he probably will arrive tomorrow or the day after I guess?” Sooyoung tell her grandfather as she heaves a small sigh while massaging her temple. Evidences of exhaustion from jetlag flied from London clearly written on her pretty face. Eyes dropping low with her arm supporting her head on the luxury sofa.

“Have you had dinner?” her grandfather asked to his obvious sleepy granddaughter which earns her to have her eyes open again.

“I did with Kyungho oppa after he fetched me from the airport.”

The old man nods in acknowledgement. “About your aunt, is she agreed to move back here?”

“Meollayo~” she shrugged her shoulders. “Omma still trying to persuade her but we’ll see how it’s going when jiwong oppa arrives here later.” Her answers noted with small nods from her grandfather before a message notification popped out from her phone, distracting her attention on her grandfather. Sensing that, her grandfather flashed an understanding smile.

“Go and have your rest upstairs and just leave the luggage there. I’ll ask one of the assistant to bring it to your room later on.”

“Goodnight harabeoji.

“Goodnight dear.”

“Jiwoong-ah~”

“Anyeong harabeoji. How has you been?”

“Pretty good for an old man at my age.” He laughed when they loosen the hug.

“Come let’s have lunch with everyone. They’ve been waiting for you especially your grandma.” He leaned on while side hugging his grandson.

“I know. She kept on nagging me for not visiting her at Korea for so long.”

In the study room/home library of the choi’s with Jiwoong and his grandparents.

“What exactly happened to your mother Jiwoong? What made her like that? And what secret she’s been keeping from us?”

Jiwoong looking stressful as ever as he had his head hang low.

“Tell us.No more secret. No more hiding from us Choi Jiwoong.” His grandmother softly persuades him.

“Mommy……she missed Erica too much.” After few seconds of silent, he hesitatedly answers. Eyes looked up, observing the reactions of the other two pair of old eyes.

“Erica? Who’s Erica?” A serious confuse frown appeared on his grandfather face, making Jiwoong on nervous wreck. Palms sweating and heart beating fast.

“She….is my sister”

“Hayeon?” her grandmother interrupted him.

“No.Not Hayeon. She is the second child whose existence was denied since she was born.

“Do you remember when mommy said she had a miscarriage and the baby died?” he waits for a respond from the figures and when he received one,he takes deep breath before continue it. “It’s a lie. she gave birth to a healthy baby with a complex ia condition. Mommy cannot accept it because she thought the baby bring bad lucks to our family so she hide the existence of my sister from everyone. ”

“W-why? Why she did that?” his grandfather clearly shocked judging from his almost choked voice.

“ Erica, she was born female but with male private part. Mommy can’t accept that so she never cared for her. Worse, she abused her and warned me and appa to never meddle anything related to Erica. I was just a little boy with three years . I don’t know what to do and what to think. So every time mommy hit her, I just can only stand still. Can’t even protecting her like a brother should and to think all of those hits and beats mostly because of my fault…..I’m failed as a brother and will always be.” He hangs his head low with guilt eating him. No words can describe his regrets for not standing up for his sister.
