FOUR
The Impossible | CLOSED.“You want to create a contract?”
It’s been a few days ever since they have started their so called relationship and to make it seem like they have been dating for some time, they both decided that it would be best if they go on little ‘dates’ and take photos to show proof that they have photos together and of each other. Thus, here they are at a small coffee shop, initiating their first ‘date’ out of the supposedly many. Situated in a corner and far from the crowd, it looked a little more intimate as they were across from each other, having their drinks in front of them, and taking photos of one another.
It was little awkward at first, both being silent and not really knowing what to do next, only to stare at each other, almost expecting one to break the ice. Minho took it in his own hands and decided to make this date a little more exciting. It was then both got the groove of things and began to showcase how they can be seen as a couple in front of others. As they got the hang of things, Minho asked Sulli questions about herself and vice versa so that when they were asked certain things about each other, they know what to answer instead of looking dumbly and hoping that they could be saved.
The questionnaire got a little deep with each other as the questions being asked were quite raw and personal. They both agreed that it would be best this way so that no suspicion arises especially if they stick to the story of how they have been dating for nearly 2 years and all. Minho got to learn things about Sulli that he didn’t expect that he would her coming from her and the same goes with Sulli. It’s through this, do they both feel like they are starting to connect with each on a more personal note and it’s nice.
Things however became more serious once the companies were brought up and Sulli had been itching to bring up this topic sometime; this might be just the perfect moment. As much as Sulli wants to hopefully create a genuine friendship out of this, it’s still apart of her to see this as a business proposal. After all, Minho has mentioned about having a merger between their two companies and maybe this might be the perfect time to discuss it.
“Yeah, I do. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you seem like a great guy Minho-ssi and I would love to create a friendship over this but I can’t help but also think that this is also business.” Sulli responds softly. Minho is a bit taken back but pleased to hear that Sulli wants to create a friendship over this and taking what she said is, it’s nothing but the truth though. As much as this can be a different experience for the both of them, he had mentioned and subtly promised that he will help her out with her company through the merger he suggested.
Sulli may not know this yet but Minho has been working diligently on the merger ever since he first suggested when proposed the idea to her last month. He may be doing this for himself but he also wants to help out Sulli as much as possible and this merger might just help with that. Minho has been working with his team in forming the perfect merger that will satisfy both of their companies so that everything will be smooth sailing.
“What do you exactly have in mind for this contract?” Minho asks, though he has been working on the behind the scenes of the merger himself, he suspects that this contract might be something else and he is curious to know what Sulli has to say. If Minho has learned anything in past relationships, the basis of making sure a relationship is going to last long is having communication between each other. What they are doing, either this is a fake relationship they around e playing or not, Minho still wants to treat Sulli with most respect and wants to really communicate with one another to make this whole fake ordeal seem real as possible. Minho is hoping to do just that with Sulli.
“I want to create some sort of boundaries with this relationship. Please don’t think badly of this or me but it’s just so it gives me a sense of security that I will be fine. With that said, that doesn’t mean I think badly of you or I think you’re going to me wrong, absolutely nothing like that and i’m pretty certain you aren’t going to but this will just help my mind rest.” explains Sulli, still looking a bit more hesitant and a bit nervous to hear Minho’s response. Even if this might be fake and all pretence, Sulli still wants to protect herself from anything happening or maybe it’s also the fact she knows that she might just fall in love with the person in front of her.
Being a flexible and understanding person, Minho gets where Sulli is coming from. This is a foreign ground they are both stepping into and it’s more scary for Sulli to trust someone you barely know with something as dangerous as being in a relationship that is purely for the satisfaction of what they both want in the end. The result of it all is very unpredictable and just with one wrong move, it can come crashing down.
“Yeah, of course. It’s perfectly understandable for me. I get where you are coming from; you’re probably scared and nervous and this is your way of coping. So yeah, let’s a contract.” responds Minho with all the intention of being serious about what Sulli had suggested. It was just like that when slight awkwardness started to hover above them again. Minho finds it a bit warming that though the woman in front of him may seem tough on the outside, what’s actually inside is more raw, vulnerable and sensitive. Minho suddenly has to urge to protect but also discover different sides of Sulli and wants to experience it all
As they both discussed or rather meticulously piece things together about ideas Sulli had mind and to what Minho also suggests, the ‘contract’ that is more personal and only really known between the two of them emphasized on how they are going to carry themselves as well the relationship that they are going to pretend to do. Both had come to the mutual decision that there will be certain things that will be off boundaries to each other.
Thus, they have crafted a metaphorical contract with each other of what they can do and can not do. Minho thinks it’s a bit absurd doing this but if this is what Sulli wants to do to make herself feel comfortable and safe, so be it. It’s better this way than her feeling belittled or uncomfortable when she shouldn’t be.
“So this is really the start of our fake relationship huh? What should I call you then?” Minho teases slightly, smiling a bit, feeling good in himself and in each other that this will go smooth sailing. He has no doubt that this can wrong but of course, this will be fully tested out on he has introduced Sulli to his parents soon enough.
“I’ve never really had any nicknames that I was called by in past relationships so I can’t really say..though if you call me baby, I think I might just melt” laughs Sulli, a slight tinge of pink coloring her cheeks. Minho almost chokes on his drink but saved himself and tried to compose himself mentally.
“So I guess you can call me Daddy then?”
Before Minho could even stop himself from saying that, the deed has been done which leaves Sulli blushing even harder, looking more like a tomato now and Minho looking at her wide eye and mouth slightly agape upon realizing what he just said. Mentally, he has given himself the biggest face palm of his life. Did he really just said that? With his whole chest, he said that and Minho wants nothing more but to hide away and never be seen again
Despite blushing so hard and her heart racing a million times faster, Sulli breaks into a laughter. Neither of them can believe what just happened but Sulli thinks it’s a bit cute to see Minho so flustered after realizing what he just said without him really knowing what he just said until seconds after. Sulli knows it’s all pure fun but she doesn’t know why but calling Minho, daddy, might just be funniest thing or weirdest thing Sulli has ever done with a guy
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.”
“No, it’s fine. I kinda like it” Sulli laughs even harder which causes to Minho to choke on his salvia because holy , how did this suddenly become so when it was just so pure and light hearted moments before. Minho is on the verge of either screaming or running away though he considers running away from this
“Oh god no please, that’s just so embarrassing. Why don’t we just call each other baby?” suggests Minho, groaning quite a bit. He doesn’t think he’ll get over what he just said and will probably cringe at the thought of him ever saying to the person he just started to get to know. Good God, may he be saved from this happening again
“Sure, baby.” Sulli smiles, it’s the kind of smile that’s between teasing for the fun of it and seeing the torment in Minho’s face.
