FOURTEEN

The Impossible | CLOSED.

It’s quite ironic really how things have become. In the beginning, it was all about setting up plans and having underlying rules that they should follow and not cross but now, it’s quite different from that. There was really no set plan to follow anymore - well there still might be one but technically ever since that night - everything basically changed.

It’s also quite ironic how Minho is frozen in the literal and figurative sense that his heart still manages to skip a beat at the sight of Sulli. The door just opened and Minho swears that his lungs were just punched causing him to be breathless at the sight of her.

Enticing.

That’s what Sulli is. There was just something about her beauty, something about her in general  that continues to pull MInho in and because of that, he doesn’t know how to act most of the time. She was absolutely alluring, solely captivating and Minho can’t help but fall for her charms.

“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to come in?” A sweet voice breaks Minho’s thoughts and the owner of that sweet voice looks at him confusingly. There he goes again, being the whipped man that he has become, finding that confused expression of her’s to be the absolute cutest thing ever.

Finally, about time really, his legs start to move, crossing the threshold before closing the door and letting himself inside. The apartment is just how he remembered it really and the thought made his stomach flutter a bit. Memories begin to flood his head once more and god, a part of him wants to relive those memories again but this is  different.

He’s here to talk with Sulli and as much as he wants to have a redo of that night, there’s no way of that happening. At least not now.

“Sit, I’m just going to go to the kitchen and get the tea.” Sulli’s voice rings through his ears but there’s no sight of her. Obeying, he takes a seat on the sofa and waits patiently. It didn’t take long for Sulli to emerge into the living room with a tray of tea. It hits MInho like the deja vu that it is, that the same thing that happened before only the result of it today won’t probably end the same way as before.

“You like tea, right?” Sulli says, setting down the tray on the coffee table before handing one of the two cups over to Minho. He reaches his hands to take it before taking a sip. It’s earl grey this time which the taste penetrates through his tongue, it’s a strong taste with a citrus touch to it.

“This is earl grey right?” Minho asks

“Yeah, how did you know right away?”

“I like to think that I’m a tea connoisseur of  both the actual tea and you know… tea. So i know a lot” This barks up a reaction from Sulli that Minho was kind of hoping for. Her laughter is like music to his ears ( as cheesy as it is )

Because of this, it had become easier for them to flow into a conversation of different topics. Though they both know that they’re really just pushing the topic of what they’re actually supposed to talk about a little far back.

It’s pushed so far back that it had almost been forgotten but eventually they circled back to it. Slowly. They know can’t push it back any longer. The truth will come out eventually and might as well just get it over with.

“So…” Minho notices Sulli’s fidgeting and he just knows how much of an awkward situation this is already and he sees the slight discomfort it is for her.

“What do you want to know?”

“Everything, really. I honestly just want answers, some sort of clarification to all of this. Whatever this is.” Sulli’s voice came out quietude than usual but the implication of her words were loud and clear.

Minho takes in a deep breath, this is it; It’s now all or nothing.

“This...whatever this is, it’s something that just bloomed. It became something that we really had no control over. I like you, Sulli. Probably more than I will ever know but these past few months have been the wildest months but it has also been my favorite. I didn’t know how much you have became a fixated part of my life but you have and I’m just so grateful.”

“Feelings are weird and complicated, you know? i would have never thought of falling this deep but you just make it so easy. I know, we started this relationship-you could say with just an evil scheme to deceive my parents but don’t you think it turned out to be something more different?”

“I never knew I could be this capable of holding such a emotion towards a person but you’ve become so much more than someone I asked to do a favor for me. You have become my friend and I….I think I want you to be more than my just friend or fake girlfriend. I want you to be my real girlfriend.”

“But I can’t ask that of you. At least not yet. We had this whole plan to follow but it’s funny how we didn’t really stick to it. Things happened and it just messed us up a little bit but my feelings for you, they’re as real as it can get.”

“And I think it’s best for us to not continue with the pretending. There’s really no point into continuing to be in a fake relationship when I just poured my heart out to you and i think the feelings mutual right?”

Minho’s eyes are now wavering, glistening just a bit as he locks eyes with Sulli. His heart continues to beat even faster against his chest as he waits for her reaction. It’s definitely a lot to take in but he said what he had to say.

It become quiet, more quieter than usual and Minho swears that if you just listen closely, you can hear his heart pounding. As Minho continues to look at Sulli, anticipating, it was then that her features started to lit up and a small smile became evident across her face.

“Should I even say it? It seems like you already know the answer to it.” Sulli says, smiling wider this time as her voice comes out to be teasing. It was like that Minho let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. Ah, the relief.

“It’d be nice to hear it though.” Minho teases back, Sulli throws her head back a little bit as she laughs.

“The feeling is indeed mutual. I really like you too, Minho. Are you sure you can’t ask me to be your real girlfriend already? I’m kinda dying to answer that question” More teasing ensues and Minho swears this is it, this is the person he wants to spend eternity with.

“Aren’t you an eager one? But I’m sorry, baby. Not yet. It’s the 21st century, I have to do it grand and be a total romantic about it. You can wait a little more, right?.” Minho counters, this makes Sulli pout and all Minho wanted to do was kiss it. Maybe, just maybe, Sulli knew it, before saying,

“hmmph, you won’t get your daily fix of kisses then” Sulli says, playfully sticking out her tongue. Minho smirks, he placed his cup down on the table and moved closer to Sulli.

And so, just like that, the teasing began.

The closer Minho gets, the more flustered Sulli gets. That made Minho smirk, got her. Sulli was so flustered by the close proximity that she tried to move away but that was just no use.

“Is that a challenge, Ms. Choi? Are you sure I can’t get my kisses?” Minho says, his voice lower than usual and it just took him one swift move and his lips were hovering hers, ghosting over them.

“I-..” Before Sulli could even finish that sentence, Minho fully presses his lips onto hers. And it was just like that, a passionate kiss erupted.

Sulli outright moaned into the kiss and that only motivated Minho to do more. He smirks into the kiss, this is where he likes to be.

And just maybe, this would end the same way it did during that night. Just maybe.

Chapter 28: On a bias point of view, I would love if you can continue to write Minsul specially this one which you have trying to rewrite.

I think if you are to honor Sulli in your writing, I believe we as fans of Sulli would love it because you not only keep her memories alive for us but also honor her as a person, as a human being and for who she is, not as what people wants her to be.

We might not know Sulli personally but we know the Sulli as the little Jinri in her first drama, Ballad of Seodong.

She went to join F(x) and started in To The beautiful You. Yes, she is an actress but I believe there is a part of the role they play that are innate in them for them to be really effective and she was effective in those roles.

Writing is a passion as well as a talent, authornim. I believe writing about Sulli and/or using her as your character would not be in bad taste if you write with your heart and soul in it. I believe that even in people's stories we can hope that she could've a better life, one with happiness, one she did not get in real life. Not that it makes readers delusional but simply wishing also even if only in the stories, Sulli is happy, at peace and would not have felt lonely.

It is not about writing as if nothing happened, authornim. The reality of her passing will always be hanging in our minds, but writing or simply continuing stories you have already had with Sulli in mind I believe continuing would not be in bad taste. But that is an opinion of a fan, though a silent one (regretting that I should have been more vocal as a fan), I love her as her, quirky to some but to me she is the lovable Jinri I keep following.

My tip is to read up on Sulli as much as you can to know her better, maybe even reach out to her family if there is a possibility to contact them. Though I think it is more than to show respect to her family more than anything, I believe it is your right to continue writing about or with Sulli as your character as long as you honor your commitment to the readers and to yourself and to Sulli (even though she is no longer with us).

I believe that Sulli would not mind as you would write from your heart.

Hoping for the best that you can continue to have her living in your stories.

Chapter 27: I feel heartbroken, almost numb too authornim, but I hope in time you will continue the story like I told some of the Minsul authors.

Keeping Sulli in our hearts now that she is gone is also important. AFF stories has helped me from that dark path that people we like or admire like Sulli and Jonghyun has went through because they no longer can cope with the depression or the sadness or simply the reality that verbal abuse then was so severe, only a few were really behind her. I think Lee Soman and SM is one of the saddest people now because they lost their angel too. I also wonder if the bashers are happy now that she is gone while we who love our angel is heartbroken. We will never get the chance to see her stand up from all the ashes and live the life she deserves. How her eonnies and oppas are now crying because of this loss. But I hope we will rally behind her after everything has passed and calmed down and celebrate her life even if only in stories in AFF. Maybe not now, but I hope all Minsul authors can come back and complete these stories about the Jinri we love.
