CHOI RAE SUNG

 

 

When Jennie noona and I reached the ground floor, Seung hyung was already hailing a cab out front.

 

 

 

“Hyung!” I called out to him. “Wait up!”

 

 

 

He doesn’t turn around.

 

 

 

“Where are we going?” Jennie asked as we walked to the roadside where Seung was standing.

 

 

 

“Clubbing!” he answered enthusiastically, facing her.

 

 

 

An orange taxi stopped in front of us.

 

 

 

“What??” Jennie turned to me in horror. “I’m not dressed to go to a club.”

 

 

 

And here I thought she was afraid of being recognized.

 

 

 

“Even if you aren’t, you will still be the prettiest one there.” Seung opened the back door for her.

 

 

 

I cringed after hearing what he said.

 

 

 

Jennie looked at him weirdly as she got inside the car.

 

 

 

Seung actioned to get inside after her when I shoved myself in between him and the door and took the seat instead.

 

 

 

“You can call shotgun, hyung. I won’t mind.” I smiled innocently.

 

 

 

He shot me a look.

 

 

 

Then he probably remembered that Jennie was with us.

 

 

 

He quietly obeyed and smiled at her as he closed the door.

 

 

 

After Seung told the driver where to go, he turned to Jennie.

 

 

 

“Is it really ok for you to be going out with us at this hour?”

 

 

 

“Well I didn’t really have a choice.” She looked at me, “Can you lend me your cap?”

 

 

 

“This?” I asked.

 

 

 

She took it off of my head and put it on before I could say more.

 

 

 

“Hey that looks better on you than it does on Raesung!” Seung teased, eyeing me.

 

 

 

I kicked the back of his seat, “Shut up.”

 

 

 

Jennie laughed as she took her phone out of her pocket to check the time.

 

 

 

“Ya!” she looked at me, alarmed. “Are you allowed to stay out this late??”

 

 

 

“Why not?” I faced her, “I usually stay out much later than this.”

 

 

 

“He doesn’t come home until he sees the sun!” Seung added.

 

 

 

“What?” she shifted in her seat. “Why?”

 

 

 

“We make music at dawn.”

 

 

 

“Oh.” She calmed down. “So that’s why.”

 

 

 

She casually leaned onto me as she went back to scrolling through her phone.

 

 

 

“Lend me your shoulder for a sec. My body feels like it’s going to fall apart.”

 

 

 

My heart started racing at the sudden contact.

 

 

 

And Seung’s eyes widened.

 

 

 

“Hectic schedule?” I asked.

 

 

 

“Yeah. We got back from Japan just this morning. I couldn’t remember the last time I slept for more than 8 hours since today.”

 

 

 

“Then you should get home and rest up some more. We can go out another time.” I leaned over towards the driver, “Ahjussi-“

 

 

 

“No.” she stopped me. “No, I’m fine. I need a drink anyway.” she said.

 

 

 

I could see Seung celebrating in silent victory in his seat.

 

 

 

“Alright,” I didn’t bother to insist.

Minutes later and we entered the busy streets of Gangnam.

 

 

 

Seung paid for the ride, “I got this.” he winked at us.

 

 

 

“Thanks.” Jennie got off the cab after me.

 

 

 

The streets were already packed with people all dressed up.

 

 

 

We walked into a club.

 

 

 

And I could see the party was already at its peak.

 

 

 

People were going crazy.

 

 

 

“Let’s go find the bar.” Jennie said.

 

 

 

We followed her.

 

 

 

We were ordering our drinks when a group of girls approached us.

 

 

 

“Hi.” one of them said to me.

 

 

 

“Uh – hello.” I said as I turned to look the other way.

 

 

 

“You’re Millennium, right?” the girl moved to where I was looking.

 

 

 

“Do I know you?” I asked.

 

 

 

“Not really. But can I buy you a drink?” she batted her eyes at me.

 

 

 

I noticed her friends standing behind her were giggling.

 

 

 

“No thank you. I can manage.” I smiled back politely before turning back around.

 

 

 

“I won’t take no for an answer.” She grabbed me by the arm.
