A/N: The longest chapter yet because MiMo is the cutest y’all! … and also because they haven’t interacted since the beginning of this story so I feel bad. Hehe.

Mina was walking down the street to the restaurant that Momo had picked for their date. The dancer offered to pick her up but Mina had several errands to run and told him that she would just meet him there. Besides, with a being a high profile celebrity and all, it would really be best for Mina to make her own way just in case the date doesn’t particularly go well – even though she really wanted her evening with Momo to go well.

As she got closer to the restaurant, she was thankful that it was located at the part of town that wasn’t busy so people around her barely even noticed her. Checking her phone for the address again, Mina notes that the restaurant was just around the corner. However, as she turned the corner, she noticed a man waiting outside of the restaurant with a single pink rose in his hand. She could tell that he was dressed nicely despite him having his back turned to her.

She recognised the figure instantly and it seemed that Momo was mumbling to himself. Succumbing to her playful and curious nature, Mina stood where she was around the corner and observed the man for a while.

“Hi~” Momo greeted no one but the air.

Mina’s eyebrows raised slightly at how funny he had looked. Did he see her earlier?

“Anneyong.” He said again with his back still facing her direction.

“Wait, should I even speak Korean? We’re both Japanese though?” Momo continued to mumble to himself.

Mina felt her cheeks start to heat up. She had found it cute that he was practicing to speak to her but it somehow made her shy too. After his previous mumble, there was a pause before a soft gasp filled the air.

“Oh goodness, I forgot how to Japanese!” Momo whined to himself in a soft voice followed by a frustrated groan. “Just speak Korean then.”

Mina bit her lips in order to contain the giggle that was threatening to escape her at the man’s antics. Deciding to put him out of his misery, Mina straightened her posture and smoothened her outfit before approaching him.

“It’s okay, just be cool. It’s fine. Just say hi, be nice. Don’t forget to tell her she looks pretty… I mean, she always is.” Momo said, giving himself a mini pep-talk.

After catching the last part he mumbled, Mina couldn’t help but blush. She has been told countless of times that she was pretty but hearing Momo say it made her feel something she had never felt before. Once Mina felt her cheeks had cooled down, she decided to approach Japanese dancer in front of her and tapped his shoulders. Momo turned around immediately and met Mina’s kind gaze.

“Oh hey! You’re here.” Momo greeted with a smile.

“I’m sorry if I kept you waiting.” Mina apologised shyly.

“No, no, no. It’s perfectly fine. I’m-Well-I just…” Momo stuttered, “Hi, I’m Momo.”

Confusion flashed through Mina’s eyes for a second before she brushed it off and was about to reply when Momo started backtracking.

“I mean – Just…” the dancer tried again, “Hi.”

Mina bit back a giggle. She had found the dancer’s stuttering and shyness very cute and endearing. She smiled softly.

“Hi, Momo.” She greeted back.

“Sorry. I’m a bit nervous.” Momo confessed.

Mina had always admired raw honesty when it came to feelings and this time wasn’t any different. The idol let out an assuring smile.

“It’s okay. I’m nervous too.” Mina admitted causing Momo to relax a bit knowing he wasn’t the only one.

“I hope that it isn’t too much or too little but this is for you.” Momo said shyly as he handed her the single pink rose.

Honestly, Momo was quite worried and hesitant in giving her the rose since he had read a lot of advices online that flowers on the first date might not be the wisest of decisions but the smile on Mina’s face was more than enough to drown out his worries.

Mina on the other hand, has received countless of flowers in many different forms over the years from countless of people from all over the world yet seeing a simple single stemmed pink rose from Momo made her heart soar in appreciation.

“Thank you. I really appreciate it.” Mina said as she shyly accepted the flower from the Japanese dancer.

“You’re welcome.” Momo grinned, starting to get a bit more confident with the whole setting.

After a few moments of standing outside the entrance, Momo gestured his hand to the door, “Shall we?”

Once they entered the restaurant, they were led to a cosy table by the waiter who gave them their menus and promised to return to take their orders soon. Once they had settled into their seats, Mina took the chance to look around the restaurant. The décor was really to her liking and she felt very comfortable already with the restaurant Momo had chosen.

“This place is really nice.” Mina commented as she looked at Momo who was already skimming through the menu.

The man lifted his head from the menu and grinned.

“I’m glad you think so.” Momo said proudly before leaning in a little closer, “The food’s great too!”

“I’m looking forward to it.” Mina replied, letting her gummy smile out.

When Mina had her head down, skimming through the menu, Momo had stolen several glances of the idol. From a third party point of view, it seemed as though he was hesitating with something as he kept opening and closing his mouth and looking up from his menu only to look back down again.

However, a few seconds later, it seemed like Momo had mustered up the courage to do whatever it was he wanted to as he leant closer from across the table to Mina.

“I-I don’t mean to be too forward,” His voice came out soft and shy.

Mina was a bit stunned at Momo’s sudden words as the idol’s head snapped up to look at her date for the evening. She smiled kindly when Momo had paused mid-sentence, letting him know it was okay to continue.

Momo turned very shy suddenly, “but you look really beautiful tonight.”

Mina was pleasantly surprised at Momo’s words and couldn’t help but blush hearing them. She smiled shyly to the man before her, “Thank you.”

Their waiter returned not long after and took their orders before leaving them again only to return with their food 15 minutes or so later. The two fell into conversation throughout the meal. At first, it was slightly awkward as the two were both very shy and hesitant but as time went by, the conversation was flowing naturally and comfortably. They were both grateful to get to know more about each other over good food and nice décor.

They were halfway through dinner when Mina had felt eyes on her again.

When they first entered the restaurant, Mina noticed that there were not many people around and much to her relief no one seemed to have recognise or notice her. Well, if they did, then they didn’t look like it. However, throughout dinner, Mina felt as if she was being stared at. It was a feeling that she wasn’t already familiar with but it was just her first date with Momo and she wouldn’t really want for it to make the tabloids on the following day. She carefully glanced to where she felt the gaze was coming from and saw an elderly lady from the restaurant’s bar area.

Mina giggled as she realised that the lady wasn’t looking at her at all. It was Momo who caught her eye. Hearing Mina’s giggle, Momo lifted his head and raised his eyebrows at her.

“I, uh, think I might have some competition.” Mina giggled as she subtly motioned her head to the direction of the woman.

Momo looked confused before his gaze followed Mina’s stare.

“Oh!” Momo let out a surprised sound before he smiled and waved over to the lady. The women returned his smiles before turning bashful and walking away – seemingly embarrassed to have been caught staring.

“That’s Mrs. Park. She owns the restaurant.” Momo explained.

“I see.” Mina replied with an amused tone after seeing how the older lady had treated Momo.

“You don’t have to worry though. She’s clearly just after my money.”

Although the joke had come out confidently, Momo was cringing at himself internally. He was so worried that Mina was going to think differently of him but before he could continue with his negative thoughts, Mina’s laugh filled the air. Momo took in the sight of the laughing idol and was grateful that he had managed to see her so pure and so free. He was even more thankful that he had caused it too. He realised then that he would do whatever to keep that happy sparkle in her eyes.

After dinner, Momo had offered to Mina back to her car which the latter accepted gratefully. They made small talk as they walked to Mina’s car and once they arrived, Mina was going to turn and thank Momo for his company. But before she could, Momo had beaten her to it.

“Hey Mina,” Momo called which made Mina turned to him. “I owe you an apology.”

Mina’s eyes soften at the devastated look in his eyes. Mina lifted a hand up and smiled, “You don’t ha-”

“I hope you don’t misunderstand my actions. I was just very scared to take that chance just in case I was reading it all wrongly. I’m sorry I kept you waiting as long as I did and I’m grateful that you’re still willing to give me a shot.” Momo said sincerely.

Mina could feel the sincerity and also the regret Momo had through the words he had spoken. After spending time with him through their work and even more after their date tonight, Mina understood Momo’s personality and could see his reasoning for not getting in touch with her sooner. He had addressed the issue and apologised and Mina saw no reason not to forgive and forget. Besides, after how well their first date had gone, Mina had no regrets giving Momo a shot.

“I had a really nice time tonight and I hope you did too. And I really hope that this won’t be the last time I’ll see you.” Momo continued, his words sincere but spoken shyly.

“I hope this isn’t the last time I’ll see you too.” Mina reciprocated, “I had a very nice evening with you. Thank you, Momo.”

“You’re welcome.”

The two fell into comfortable silence as they stood outside Mina’s car under the moonlight. Mina cleared to break the silence and to catch Momo’s attention before gesturing to her car.

“Well, I better get going now.” Mina said almost reluctantly.

“Right.” Momo nodded and Mina moved to reach for her door latch only to be stopped by Momo. “Oh wait, let me.”

Momo took a step forward from where he stood and opened the car door for Mina.

“Milady” He said goofily, holding the door open for Mina.

The idol giggled before getting into the car. Once she was settled into the driver’s seat, she turned to look at Momo who was holding the door.

“Thank you again for tonight, Momo.” She thanked the man sincerely.

“It was my pleasure. Get home safe.” Momo replied softly.

At Mina’s nod, Momo gently closed her car door and took a few steps back, allowing Mina to reverse the car. With a final wave, Mina drove off down the street leaving Momo with a contented heart and a goofy smile, waving after her car.

Mina parked her car in the garage of the dorm before stepping out and going up to the luxury dorm Twice stayed in. She called out a greeting once she was in only to find that the dorm was empty. She shrugged it off, Jihyo and Nayeon were always out and about so it didn’t surprise her that they weren’t in.

Let me know once you’re safely home. I had a really nice time tonight.

Mina pursed her lips in hopes to hold in a squeal at Momo’s message. It felt good to know that he was as eager to meet her again as she was. However, as she recalled the lessons given by Nayeon to Jihyo when Jihyo had started seeing Wen, a girl shouldn’t give too much away or show that she’s too eager. Remembering the advice, Mina bit the inside of her right cheek as she begun typing her reply.

To Hirai Momo:
I’m not too sure. I would need to check my schedule.

If you were free, I was thinking that maybe you’d want to go out with me again? I had been wanting to visit a Lotte World for the longest time and thought that it could be fun idea for a date.

Upon receiving the reply, Mina bit her lip – contemplating if it was a good idea. The idol hesitated because one, she was a scaredy-cat when it came to rides. Most of the attractions around Lotte World came in the form of roller coasters and thrill rides and two, it was a bit too public of a setting for Mina to be completely comfortable with given her high profile celebrity status.

She decided that it was something she shouldn’t decide on without much thought. Hence, she placed her phone on the bed side table before going into the bathroom to wash up for the night. Deciding also that she could use a longer time to make up her mind, Mina decided to take a long hot showe
