IT'S A DREAM
My Psychology Professor“Should I ask a third time?” Professor Seung Ho suggested calmly, now with arms folded across his chest clearly amused by the whole situation.
So-Hyun still in complete shock, managed to speak. “Seonsaengnim, what are you doing here?... I mean this is my friend’s house.” She fixed her words once she saw his eyebrows raise at her first question.
He scoffed. “Clearly some friend of yours. Does your friendship include not telling each other when you move?” He said mocking her tone. “As of yesterday, the people that lived here don’t live here anymore” He deadpanned as he could tell she wasn’t getting the gist yet.
“That doesn’t make any… any sense, why would the Kang’s move?” She asked, but she could tell by his face that he didn’t really care. “Seonsaengnim, I’m really sorry of course I don’t expect you to know.” He still stood there with his arms crossed his eyes fixed on her. “So… I’m going to go now. Again, I’m very sorry.” She gave a deep bow and started to brush past him when the sound of his voice halted her movements
“Stop.” His voice was calm and her heart started to race.
“Yes, Seonsaengnim.” She answered swiftly with nervousness.
“You. You’re Kim So-Hyun, right?
“Yes, seonsaengnim. I’m Kim So Hyun, first year Psychology major. I'm in your class.” And you completely embarassed me.
“Have something to drink before you go.” He offered, completely throwing So-Hyun off.
“Pardon? Ah I don’t think that is a good idea-" He cut her off again and So-Hyun was starting to think it was a habit of his.
“It hasn’t been long since I moved so I only have beer and orange juice.” He explained, walking towards the kitchen without even listening to her.
Who does he think he is? Am I not significant enough to listen to? She thought, biting her lips trying to hide her confusion. “Seonsaengnim, didn’t you say earlier that you’re a ‘man’ before you’re a professor? Do you think this situation is any different?” She asked taking two small steps forwards, not knowing whether to completely follow him into the kitchen. She had her arms folded when he came around the corner with a glass of orange juice in his hands and she quickly unfolded them.
“Seonsaengnim...” She quickly changed, remembering that he’s still her professor.
“You.”
“Y – yes?” She replied with a shaky voice staring at the floor.
“It’s rude not to make eye contact with the person you’re talking to. Look at me.” He corrected in a low voice.
As So-Hyun lifted her head she saw something she never knew she’d see today - or ever at that, and that was her uptight Psychology professor smiling at her. Is this real? Am I dreaming? The same professor that gave her hell this morning is the same professor that is creeping her the heck out right now. What is this, is he a Psycho?
“You’re probably thinking if I’m crazy right?” He said with a chuckle.
Just a little So-Hyun thought to herself. “Well… But Seonsaengnim what’s funny? Why are you laugh-?”
“I'm not sure how you'll take this considering I've spent no more of an hour with you today, but... I like you.”
Silence.
“What?" Her voice was louder this time, emphasising her shock and confusion.
“Should I say it again? I li-” It was her turn to cut him off this time.
“No!” So-Hyun shouted. “Seonsaengnim, excuse my rudeness, but are you okay? You're not crazy right?.” She stopped speaking when she noticed the shift in his face, his smile now a frown.
“I’m not playing with you. I’ve liked you from the moment your tiny-self stepped foot into my lecture theatre. If you’re wondering why I acted the way I did before, well that’s just because I’m professional. I like rules and rules are meant to be kept.” And just like that his smirk re-appeared.
“Seonsaengnim… I’m going to go now. It’s very late and you’re… very not okay.” So-Hyun retunred awkwardly.
He gulped down the orange juice he’d brought for her, the remainder from his lips and he took two steps towards her. “Do you really think I’m not okay?” He questioned as his eyes scanned her face. “I’m not dangerous.”
Yeah right, that’s what they all say she thought.
“I mean, I won’t be dangerous unless you make me be.” He said in a low voice and So-Hyun could swear her heartbeat could be heard from across the road. “You can leave, I’m not going to hold you hostage.” He chuckled “But I’ll let you know that from now on, I’ll be pursuing you. Will that be okay?” He smiled just the right amount so that his dimples would appear.
Among the very things that So-Hyun was feeling right now she couldn’t name it exactly. She was confused, bewildered, annoyed and creeped out. “Seonsaengnim, what do you thi-?”
“Outside of the University grounds you can call me by my name. And before you say anything else, I know.” He let out a small breath as he saw So-Hyun’s puzzled expression, “I know that our relationship would be risky, but if you would give me the chance… I want to know whether liking you will be worth the risk.” He finished, biting his bottom lip.
“Seonsaengnim.” So-Hyun let out a short laugh “Are you filming a drama all by yourself? What risk?” So-Hyun said still puzzled. She let out a deep sigh. She’s been left short for words.
“Ah and I really am not a Psychopath, I didn’t know this was your neighbourhood. Honest.” He put his hand to his chest as if it was enough to make her trust him.
“Seonsaengnim, I’m going to go now. I’m going to think that this is all a joke and that when I wake up tomorrow you’ll be back to your cold self.” With a nervous smile she backed out of the house.
Seung Ho followed her movements with his eyes and let out a small chuckle “She's cute.”

The next week So-Hyun managed to go to the remaining lectures she had and study at the library without running into her Professor Seung Ho. What did she expect? He must’ve been joking with her. Of course, he was joking, he couldn’t possibly be serious about liking his student. Unfortunately, it was still awkward, especially since she had to go to his workshop for the lecture that he made her miss. Okay, so she can’t really blame him, rules are rules but she wanted to dwell in he
