“Myung Soo, let’s take a picture together!” Ji Eun said as she took out her camera.

“1…2…3…*snap*” the two checked out the picture and smiled.

“I wish we will stay like this… forever.” She said as she looked towards the vast sea.

“I want to stay with you forever, too.” Myung Soo said with a smile as he looked ahead.

The sun was setting, seemingly eaten by the horizon. It was ‘disappearing’ into the sea. Ji Eun lay on L’s shoulders and shut her eyes. They were enjoying the cool breeze on their faces and the sounds of the waves collapsing on the break waters sounded soothing too.

*Flashback*

Ji Eun closed her eyes as she waited for her own disappearance. However, she felt nothing. There was no stinging pain, no burning sensation, no nothing. She opened her eyes in surprise.

“Hakuun! I am not vanishing!~” Ji Eun shouted in delight as she turned around to face him.

However, to her horror, her best friend was weakening. His energy was drained bit by bit as Myung Soo recovered slowly. Ji eun rushed over to him with tears welling up in her eyes.

“HAKUUN! What is happening?! Why are you like this…?!” Ji Eun screamed as she grabbed his shoulders but to no avail. He was fading away and she couldn’t touch him at all. Shocked, she looked down at the bottle of rose and realised something. The petals were blue! It was because of her tears and the darkness that she didn’t realise before.

“You…you… used your… last pe-petal to…” Ji Eun couldn’t bear to go on.

“Don’t cry. You look less pretty.” He said exhaustedly and managed a weak smile.

“Why…WHY?!” Ji Eun cried harder as she looked at him who seemed to be in severe pain. He was trying his best to make it seem less obvious still.

“Because I…I promised that I will always be there for you. Remember...?” he said as he extended his pinky finger towards Ji Eun.

“Hakuun~ Why are you so silly?!” Ji Eun scolded as tears flowed down her cheeks.

Ji Eun remembered the promise between the two since before. She remembered how Hakuun was always there for her when she fell, when she cried and when she laughed. He was her best friend who stayed by her. He had never left her side until she left him…

She extended her pinky to meet his. At the second when the two pinky was about to meet, he perished.

“NO!NO! Hakuun!” she yelled as she ran forward to grab him. She hugged nothing and eventually fell to the ground. He was gone.

She picked up her bottle with the last pink petal sticking out of the stalk. She couldn’t bring him back. The rule was that she cannot save her own species. If she went against the rule, she would lose her life and nothing will be changed. Hakuun’s efforts would have gone to waste.

“Hakuun…Hakuun…I am sorry. It is all my fault.” Ji Eun cried. The tears fell onto her bottle as she hoped for miracle to occur. She hoped that the next minute when she opened her eyes, he would return and tell her everything was alright. She hoped but it never happened. He was gone, forever.

*End of flashback*

A silent tear slipped out of the corner of her eye. Myung Soo turned his head as he saw the glistening matter escaping her closed eyes. He knew what she was thinking instantly. He hugged her tightly, hoping to give her all his support through the embrace. He was thankful towards Hakuun and guilty at the same time. He took the love of his life and eventually, even his life. However he knew the reason why he did that too.

Hakuun knew that Myung Soo was able to give Altimisso more joy and happiness than him. To him, nothing else mattered as long as she smiled.

“I love you.” Myung Soo whispered softly into her ears.

“I velo ouy” Ji Eun said as another tear fell onto his shoulder and got absorbed into his shirt.
