I’ve been busy trying to open this lock placed outside the file but nothing was happening at all. I even tried extracting the love orbs in my body and launched it at the lock but all I received was pain from it

Why? It simply backfired when the orbs when the time it reached the lock which caused a slight burn on my hands and I had to go to the kitchen to grab some ice pack

As I was placing and caressing my burnt hand with the ice pack, my eyes wandered around the kitchen and I found another idea on how to open it

“Sharp objects would work right?” I said as I slid the knife out of it shelf and exam it. It was obvious that the knife I took was new and still sharp due to how shiny and unscratched it was

I laid the folder on the chopping board and tried cutting it and even threw the knife on it but the result was still the same... the lock looked like it was all brand new and wasn’t even bothered at all while the knife? Pretty much became rusty. I hope my roommate wouldn’t kill me if she knew what I did to her knife

“This is such a pain and a waste of time. Like seriously”

A sudden thought popped out of my brain once again and I looked at the stove with an evil grin plastered on my face. I stood up and slowly walked towards it and carefully examined how it works. After a while of figuring out on how to turn on this stove, fire lit up from the center

“This would probably work right now...” I slowly lifted the folder and dropped it in the steaming hot flames and a laugh came out of my mouth when I saw the flames getting bigger which just means it’s burning it

Wait... burning... burning... sht!

I hurriedly or should I say turned off the stove panicking due to how scared I was if the folder got burned but fortunately I had a missed emotion when I saw the result

I felt relived when I saw nothing bad happened to it but at the same time annoyed because the lock was still there alive and well

“When will this lock ever give up?” I took the file and walked back towards my room with my back slumped until I heard a familiar voice coming from the sofa

“You know that nothing could break that lock, Sojung” Eunha was sitting comfortably while playing a rubix cube which I think she had a hard time completing the puzzle

“What to you mean?” I walked towards her with my eyes narrowed because I was too confused and at the same time still pissed that nothing of what I did worked in destroying this petty lock

“You don’t really think Kyung is that stupid and just put a simple lock there” she placed the rubix cube down on the table and opened her wings out and started flying throughout the room like she was trying to taunt me due to the fact that I couldn’t bring out my wings at the very moment

“And what would make this lock open? Where’s the key?” She rolled her eyes and stopped moving in the air as she look at me and the file back and forth before giving out a deep sigh

“Can’t believe he didn’t tell you” it was a whisper but I managed to here it and yeah, Kyung is basically can be sometimes stupid for leaving out some details for a mission or event just like when he didn’t tell me that the committee would be watching me one time and you know what I did while I was clueless? I was  just chilling and making fun of humans which resulted for me to be watched for five consecutive mission which felt like I was in a prison because I couldn’t move freely and how I wanted to knowing that the higher ups were watching and keeping an eye on me

“That would open when you find who the mysterious pair and made them fall for each other. In short, you should make them fall first before that lock would disappear” she said as she tap the lock placed on the file

“What? How would I be able to do that? Do they want me to make every pair who suited each other fall? That’s insa—“ Eunha cut me off by grabbing the folder and turned it around and pointed something written on it

I leaned closer and read “senior” at the left bottom corner. I asked her what does that mean which she only shrugged

“You’re really no help at all”

“Oh really? So you mean you would be able to see what was written below even if I didn’t help you?”

“Yes” which she bursted out laughing but her smiling face quickly turned into a glare and said “I doubt that. Specially when I saw you struggling and fighting with that thing a while ago”

“Were you always watching me?” I asked in disbelief because seriously? She was watching me without even me knowing? Isn’t that invasion of privacy?

“Nope. I just happen to pass by because I just finished a mission” she then raised a jar which has a bright red colored orb inside it. The orb indicates the successful matchmake of a cupid and if you’re asking if there’s another cupid than I am... yes there is

“From Yewon’s matched couple?” She smiled and nodded in reply

“You know your sister might be better than you at this cupid work”

“Whatever” She chuckled and walked towards me to give me a peck on the cheek before vanishing like dust

Today’s my first day to attend classes and I am not very pleased with it. I don’t get it one bit why would they put me as a student when they knew exactly how I despise listening and learning things which won’t be even used in my daily life

I arrived on my designated room and I saw the familiar blonde girl that was on the lock screen of Sinb and a smirk rose up from my face upon seeing her. I immediately walked towards the vacant seat beside her and sat on it

“Hey” I said trying to not sound creepy and she turned her head towards me them smiled

“Are you perhaps new here? I haven’t seen you before”

I nodded and hummed in reply and after that silence and awkwardness filled the two of us. Not knowing what to say nor what to do next

We haven’t spoken a word until the professor entered the room which made it harder for me to talk and interrogate her about the younger girl

She was so focused on the discussion and even taking notes while I was yawning in my place and was uninterested during the whole period. I even whistled to get her attention but the result was getting the attention of an unexpected person

“Miss Kim, if you don’t plan on even listening at all... the door is just right there” Anger was inevitable in the voice of the professor and all I could do was apologize for misbehaving

The period ended and thank god that it’s break time. Surprisingly, the blonde girl, Yerin was it? Approached me even before I could approach me

“Wanna join me and my friend for break time?”

I looked at her smiling and nodded because this is my chance to know if I would help them fall for each other and to confirm if I really would be able to see a spark between them.

Not many people have the thing so called sparks with the other half they thought would be and if I see that in them... my first target is already confirmed because after all, Kyung said that the first few pairs that I would see are a high candidate for the mystery pair

We’ve arrived at the cafeteria and saw Sinb waving and smiling but soon turned into a frown when she saw me tagging along with her best friend

“Not so happy that I’m here aren’t you?” I teasingly said as I take a seat beside her

“What are you doing here?”

“Yerin invited me so why not? Is there a particular reason for me not to accept the offer?” She looked at me—glaring—and had nothing to say in response which amused me and made me more so I leaned closer her ears and whispered

“Unless... you want to spend more alone time with her and keep her only for yourself” I saw her face reddening up like a tomato which made me laugh and Yerin turn her head towards me and then Sinb

“What’s wrong? What happened?” The blonde girl asked with her eyes widened which made me smile and her and Sinb stutter as she say that it was nothing

“Well, shall we get our foods now? I’m starving after that boring period” I stood up and let them take the lead for me to be able to see how they would look and stare at each other

As I watch them from the back, they had been smiling and laughing nonstop which if this was in a movie, hearts would probably be flying around them and the way they look at each other, specially Sinb... was so passionate and endearing that I felt the spark and even electrified me as I watch them stick together and I could feel and see that they have forgotten where they were and people became invisible as they walk together

“They’re definitely a strong candidate... but don’t be too sure about this Sojung because it might turn out that this was only a trap set by the higher ups”

We parted ways with Yerin who’s room was below our floor and as soon as Sinb and I entered our room, I immediately talked to her

“You definitely like Yerin, don’t you?”

“What who?”

“Yerin. You like her or maybe you have fallen for her is the right term for that”

“No. She’s only my best friend” But her face says otherwise. I saw how flustered and red her face was when talking about this topic

“I could help you with her” Her brows furrowed and she walked towards me who was preparing to take a bath and asked me how would I help her which made a big smile creep on me

“In my own little ways of course”

And by that... I guess my first couple target is already on board but first I need to get to know Yerin better and be a close friend with her because that’s the only way I know I could really make this work and if I’m lucky with these two... I could get that file open in only one try
