It was my first time seeing Sinb so fragile and weak. She had injections on her hand and dextrose hanging beside her along with a heartbeat monitor. Every beat and sound the monitor gives, the worrier and guiltier and I feel

Because if not for me, she wouldn’t be in that state—lying on a hospital bed, weak and unconscious. If only I had followed Kyung’s order and Eunha’s warning about only focusing on the mission itself is then this disaster wouldn’t be happening.

She would still be the same outgoing and active Hwang Eunbi. Not the one who pretends that everything is alright and that she’s not feeling any pain...

“It’s all my fault” are the words that never stopped going out of my mouth and had never stopped circling around my mind.

All of these are my fault. It’s funny how I never had believed that every happy things have consequences and an end. And now... my happy times with her is all coming to an end in three days. No matter which choice I go with, my time with her would eventually end along with the memories we had made.

Those two choices Kyung had given me... both ends up with her memory loss. Like I will be just merely a dream that appeared and suddenly vanished and forgotten once she wakes up.

I will be nothing but merely a ghost in her life that will disappear once I made the choice. Either I let myself live but she will lose hers or I sacrifice mine in order to let her gain hers back

And I, myself, would never have second thoughts in making my choice. And that choice would none other than save hers because she’s worth risking my thousand years of living in this world

But there will always be that latter choice... the one where both of us could save our lives and none would die.

The one where I matchmake the designated pair in that locked folder. But that would be hard to achieve, knowing that I only have two days left to accomplish the task

A task I would certainly do just to let the both of us live. It would be the only way where I could watch her from afar even if she doesn’t remember anything related to me

Watch her grow into a fine woman who can stand any obstacle that comes into her life

Watch her give her smile—my favorite smile out of all the one I’ve seen—and those silly things she does. Even if she’s doing it to another person... a person whom she considers dear and special, I would still be happy for her and I would still be grateful to have loves such a gorgeous human being like her

A woman whom I will never forget for the rest of my life and whom I will never get tired of treasuring and loving sincerely.

Hwang Eunbi will forever stay with me no matter what happens

I took a deep breath before opening the entrance door of the dorm room. I decided to go back so I could get the locked file which I placed under the bed

Slowly opening the door, a room full of darkness and silence welcomed me. It was so bizarre and I felt a pang in my heart as I see the room that was once full of colors and a place where the person I love welcomes me with a smile or a hug now became a dull and suffocating room

Everywhere I look I see her shadows and her doing her usual stuff. I kept hearing her contagious laugh and adorable giggle throughout the room and I couldn’t help myself but tear up by the fact that this is happening

My one and only fear is coming nearer and nearer. And that is none other than getting separated from the girl named Hwang Eunbi

I stared at her empty bed for a few minutes and I let my tears come while smiling bitterly before turning my body away and pulling out the file out of the bed

I kept hoping and hoping that they would have mercy and open it to make me accomplish my mission easier but there it was.

Still untouched and locked just like how I left it

The file which I once took lightly and kept delaying myself to work on it, now became one of the desperate things I want to achieve and the one I would spend every minute of the remaining two days trying to accomplish it

But the thing is... I have no idea who are the two humans placed inside that folder. The only way I could make it easier for me to accomplish is go to someone who knows the pair... someone who knows what’s inside it...

That’s it... I need to head to someone who knows it...

“Think. Think Cupid. Think who might know the data inside it” I said as I walk back and forth inside the room and slapping the folder on the top of my palm

I stopped my tracks and took a deep breath to think more clearly. Minutes and more minutes have passed until it hit me.

I realized two of the possible candidates who might know that content and that would be non other than Yewon and Eunha who always had an inside scoop of everything

I hurriedly opened my contacts and searched their names on it. The clicked the name of the first person from the two who appeared first and that was none other than Eunha

The only sound that could be heard on the other line was the ringing sound that would turn into a voicemail and I kept redialing her number but the outcome had always been the same, it will always direct me into the voicemail

I tried again and again until she will pick up but nothing was happening so I decided to call Yewon instead to not waste any more time

“Please pick this up” I said under my breath before placing the phone on my ear. I tap my feet restlessly as it rang again and again and on the fifth ring, someone picked it up

“Oh, look who’s calling. You never call me fi—“ she said those words teasingly and I couldn’t help but cut her off so I can cut to the chase. I could feel her flinch on the other line due to how serious and desperate my voice was 

“Yewon, I need your help—I need an information”

“W-what? C-come again?” She was stuttering, shock was indeed inevitable. I calmed myself down to be able to speak slowly and carefully

“I need to know who the two persons inside the folder is”

Empty silence was heard for the next few seconds. Unsure if she knew the answer or was just processing my question due to how slow she can be when surprised despite of her being a genius in everything

“Uhmm.... are you talking about your mission?” She asked, unsurely. I hummed and nod at the same time as an answer and I heard a deep sigh on the other line. By that, I could already tell she doesn’t have the answer that I need

“Sojung... I don’t have your answer for that. I’m afraid Kyung kept your latest task off limits for me” her voice was inevitable that she was apologetic and wanted to help me or... it was forbidden for her to tell, but knowing how honest she is and how bad she is at lying, it wouldn’t be the latter part

I closed my eyes and bit my lower lip upon hearing her answer and before I could thank her and apologize in disturbing her, she cleared and said “But I do know someone who could help you”

My eyes glistened and widened when I heard that and I immediately asked who it was and the answer wasn’t much of a surprise for me

“I think... Eunha might be able to help you. After all, she’s the one who helps the board take care of the destined ones”

“I know that... but she wasn’t answering any of my calls so I called you instead” I said and I suddenly heard her laugh guiltily and I knew something was up

“Actually... about that... she left phone here and I kept hearing it ring and seeing your name on it so I was about to call you up but you beat me” She said with her voice getting unstable, I could sense that she was picking the phone up and examining it as she talk

“No wonder... Do you have any idea where she is?” I asked nervously and praying that she knows the location where Eunha had headed to.

I kept hoping that her silence meant that she was thinking and remembering where Eunha might’ve went to. I waited for her to pick up the pieces in her mind until she spoke “She was headed at the rooftop of the highest building in the campus because she wanted to watch the sunrise”

I felt relieve when Yewon said Eunha’s location “Thank you. I owe you for this”

“You don’t owe me anything, Sojung. I only told you the location so that you could save your love life” She said as she chuckle then bud her farewell and ended the call

I rushed outside the dorm and turned my head to find the building that has the highest peak. I found the highest building that was located in the middle of the campus and ran as fast as I could towards it

People were turning their heads to me as I ran like a bolt and even bumping into humans who were appearing out of no where

I am so desperate that I wish I had found out who they were before enjoying my stay as a mortal and I wish that Eunha would tell me the mortals if she knows the answer

I slammed the doors coming in my way as I ran inside the building, I went to the elevator but I saw people flocking inside it so I decided to take the stairs instead

I was running out of breath but I knew that was nothing compared to what Sinb is going through because of me. She’s fighting death to come get her and this tiredness that I was currently feeling was nothing compared in fighting death

After fighting with more than hundreds of stairs, the sight of the door heading to the rooftop was now in sight. Without stopping from running, I grabbed the knob and opened it.

I bent my upper body and placed both of my hands on my knees to catch my breath from all the running that I have done just to get here

My heart was clutching due to how exhausted I was but I still tried to turn my head up and saw the back of the person—immortal whom I was looking for

She was standing up with her head looking straight into the setting sun while both of her hands was gripping the barrier of the place

“You look exhausted Cupid” Her voice was monotonous and she didn’t even bat an eye to look at me

I tried standing up straight and placed both of my hands on my hips as I say something while panting “Tell me... Tell me if you know something about it...”

She turned her head sidewards and a cold and unreadable expression was shown “What do you mean by that, Sojung?”

Author’s Note: Do you think Eunha have the answer? And if she has it, do you think will she say the names or would she let Cupid do the work herself since it is indeed her fault for not listening to any of the warnings?

Anyway, it’s been a while for this story huh? Hope you’re not mad at me for keeping you guys waiting for two months for an update ><
