Eunha, not answering my calls and even leaving her phone behind Umji at this very moment—when I’m desperate to know something—just means only one thing. She knows exactly the answer for my question. She knows the pair hidden at that file and she had been helping the Kyung and the board to match up humans. That only leads to her knowing all of the destined ones 

But one thing I know about her, she won’t open up due to how strict and forbidden it is for them to reveal any of the confidential information about locked files to the cupids.

I have no right to ask that question because it is my duty to find the pair myself. This is different from where they are the ones who dictate the humans I will match

But even though I know how stubborn she can be, I will do anything it takes for her to open up and tell me the names of the couple inside the file

As I open the door of the rooftop, I saw her standing up with her head looking at the orange-reddish sun that was setting and both of her hands were gripping the rails

“You look exhausted Cupid” Her voice was monotonous and didn’t even dare turn her head to look at me

I tried catching my breath and placed both of my hands on my waist and said something under my heavy breaths “Tell me... tell me if you know something about it...”

She turned her head sidewards and a cold and unreadable expression was shown, an expression she rarely makes “What do you mean by that, Sojung?”

As expected, she would act as if she had no clue on what I’m trying to say. When the truth is she had already read my mind and had already been expecting me to run to her

I clenched my fists and walked towards her “You know exactly what I’m talking about, Psyche”

She flashed a half-smile and sniffed before jumping off the stair in front of the rail she was holding “Been a while since you called me by that name... somehow it felt refreshing that I heard you say it again”

“Stop playing around and tell me the answer to my question” I sternly said. I saw a smirk forming on her lips but soon vanished even before it turned into a visible one

She tilted her head and clasped the both of her hands behind her back “But I don’t even know your question. Don’t I?”

“You know exactly what my question is, even before I arrived here you have already read my mind” My voice was slowly rising because she clearly was toying with me. Not wanting to tell me the answer that I want from her

“My, my... I do know what your question is but”—she looked at the vast sky and took a deep breath before looking back at me—“But I want to hear you say it yourself, Cupid”

She slid the tips of her fingers onto my cheeks that sent shivers to my spine. She lightly tapped my cheeks and went closer to my ears and whispered “I won’t answer unless you say it for yourself... Kim Sojung”

She really is playing around... How can she even toy me at this kind of time? I clenched both my fists and my teeth before saying what she wants

“Do you know who are the humans I need to pair inside that locked file?” I asked with a low and stern voice. I soon heard her soft chuckle that made me look at her with a knitted eyebrows

“Wasn’t that an easy thing to do?”—She smiled—“If you only had asked me clearly, then we’re probably already done here”

“Just answer it, Eunha” She slowly nodded and walked closer to me

“Yes I do. But what makes you think that I will tell you? She slyly smiled and floated in the air and sat at the edge of the rooftop

“Because you know how much I love her and how much I am willing to sacrifice everything just for her safety” I said almost shouting that made her stop and stare at me that lasted for a couple of seconds

I am willing to risk everything. As in everything just for the sake of Sinb. A creature which I never thought of falling in love with and a person whom I thought I will never be close with and I never thought of calling her an important person that appeared in my life

I can’t let Eunha or Kyung to ruin this or even take away her life

“You can still save her even if you didn’t manage to accomplish the mission given to you” She coldly said with a matching uninterested expression. Her expression which she only uses when she have no intention of giving up an information

“But the bad thing after you save her is... you’ll eventually vanish from the universe” She said each word like it was nothing but a mere fact that should be accepted

It doesn’t really matter for me if I die saving her but I want to be able to watch her from afar even though she’s not mine anymore.

“You don’t understand because you haven’t been in my place” I said looking down with my fists clenching tighter and tighter that I could already feel my nails getting buried and few drops of blood were dripping from my hands

“I might understand but you know the reason why I’m not opening my mouth and give you the answer you want”

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before slowly kneeling down in front of her. Asking once again and begging for her to tell me the names inside the file

“Please... I need to know who they are...” I said deperately and the breeze of the wind was the only thing that was heard and she wasn’t opening

I kept hoping and hoping that she had seen how desperate I was by just kneeling and pleading. I have never kneeled and pleaded to anyone like this. And when I do, it only means I am desperate or really in need

“W-what are you doing? Kneeling in front of me just because of a human? A human that’s slowly ruing your pride and life?”

“She’s just not a human... she showed me how to love and what happiness really is... she made me showed me the feeling of being loved and not just someone who shoots arrows to matchmake mortals...”—My voice was slowly cracking up and the face of Sinb, smiling, kept appearing right in front of me and she was reaching out her hand for me to grab and take—“She... Hwang Eunbi... is a mortal whom I never want to lose and a mortal whom I want to continue loving even if I can only love her from afar”

I could feel the warm liquids in my eyes that were falling from it, my soft sobs. Just remembering the state of Sinb now makes me rather emotional and want to stop that pain that she’s feeling

If only I could be the one who’s experiencing the pain and not her... I would gladly take it from her... for I would never want her to experience such a terrible fate

“Even if I tell you the names, it’s already too late for you to be able to accomplish it” I looked up and I saw her not looking at me with both of her hands crossed in front of her chest. Now she had a softer expression, more like a guilty one.

“I know... I still want to try”

She sighed and slowly shook her head “You’re really stubborn at some point, Cupid”

I only stared at her, waiting if she’ll give up and have seen my sincerity for the mortal. I heard her voice inside my head saying “Stand up and wipe your tears. I don’t like seeing someone cry in front of me... and you’re making me feel guilty”

I lifted my head and she was still looking away but now she was pouting that it slightly lightened up my face. When I was already standing up, her eyes were quivering, just like the guilty Eunha I know

“To be honest, you really have no chance in matching them up anymore”

“Just tell me already. Every second is precious specially at this very moment, Eunha” She turned her head to me and stared for a few second

“You completely ruined them both as a couple, Sojung”

“Psyche” I glared at her that and she rolled her eyes and said “Fine”

She took a deep breath and rubbed her neck “Remember your first guess about the couple inside?”—I nodded, and was slowly getting nervous—“Your guess was right on spot”

She then vanished into thin air, just like a ghost like what she usually does, leaving me speechless and shocked at her answer
