Chapter 29

 

I Miss You

 

The next morning at Incheon Airport

 

“Halmeoniiii..”, Hani shouted happily while running towards a familiar old lady who was standing at the waiting area.

 

“Aigoo.. Sweetie! Don’t run, will you? Be careful!”, Mrs. Kwon exclaimed worriedly. Hani abruptly slowed down from running, and jogged a little towards her grandmother.

 

“I miss you, halmeoni”, Hani said while throwing her body towards her grandmother and hugging her tight.

 

“I miss you too, sweetie. Aigoo.. I felt like I didn't see you for years”, she said as she gently patted Hani's head. Yuri and YoonA smiled widely while looking at Kwon’s reunion.

 

“Did you have fun on your last day in Italy?”, Mrs. Kwon asked.

 

“Yes, halmeoni. Mommy bought Hani a pink handbag, and daddy and Hani bought souvenirs for DooE,” she proudly said.

 

“You bought souvenirs for DooE? That’s interesting”, Mrs. Kwon replied with a chuckle.

 

“How are you, omonim?”, YoonA asked while giving a hug to Mrs. Kwon.

 

“I’m fine, sweetie. Did you have fun on your vacation?”, Mrs. Kwon replied as the two halted the hug.

 

“Yes, omonim. We visited many interesting places there, and I visited my old friend in Italy. She’s my collegemate from when I was studying in Italy”, she said.

 

“Really? That’s good. You must have been missing her a lot, right?”, Mrs. Kwon said.

 

“Yes, omonim. It’s been around four years. I took a chance from this vacation to meet her. She’s really fond of Hani”, YoonA replied.

 

“Really? Aigoo, Hani ya. You have got a new friend in Italy, huh?”, Mrs. Kwon said teasingly. Hani just laughed while showing off her white teeth.

 

“Alright, ladies. Let’s get to the car, and then we can continue our chatting at home”, Yuri abruptly interrupted their conversation. YoonA and Mrs. Kwon simultaneously laughed at his words.

 

“Arasso. Let’s go. Come, Hani”, Mrs. Kwon said while grabbing Hani’s hand, and intertwined her hand with Hani’s little hand. They then walked out of the waiting room and headed to the parking lot.

At Kwon’s Ranch

 

“Here. Happy belated birthday, and hope you’re satisfied with the present you want the most”, Yuri said teasingly and handed the paper bag to Hayoung.

 

“Thank you, oppa. Of course I am”, Hayoung exclaimed happily while grabbing the paper bag and hugging it like a precious thing to her.

 

“This is from me. Happy belated birthday, Hayoung ah”, YoonA said as it’s her turn to hand over her souvenir to the girl.

 

“Unnieee.. Thank you!”, Hayoung said as she felt overwhelmed and leaned forward to hug YoonA before she took the paper bag.

 

“Ya! How come I didn’t get a hug from you? I give you the most expensive present, though”, Yuri said while furrowing his brows.

 

“You want to die, Kwon Yuri?”, YoonA sternly said while glaring at Yuri.

 

“Yeah, you want to die early, oppa?”, Hayoung joined YoonA saying the same thing while glaring at him. Yuri laughed nervously while looking at the two ladies teaming up together in giving him a warning.

 

“You know I’m just kidding, right? Aigoo..”, Yuri said.

 

“What’s going on here?”, a voice suddenly interrupted their conversation. The three of them quickly turned their heads towards the source of the voice.

 

“Yah! When did you come? Aishh.. You startled us, you brat!”, Yuri exclaimed while playfully hitting the person’s shoulder.

 

“Hahahaha.. We were having fun watching your drama just now”, the person, Hyomin said while laughing. Sunny who was standing beside him since then trying to hold her laughter, but she failed to do so as she joined her fiance laughing at the trio.

 

“How are you, buddy?”, Yuri asked while giving a hug to his best friend.

 

“I’m good, I’m good”, Hyomin replied and patted Yuri's back before halting the hug.

 

“So, where’s my souvenir?”, Sunny shamelessly asked while her eyes scanned through the pile of paper bags being placed on the floor.

 

“Aigoo.. this midget! Yah! Where’s my hug?”, YoonA snapped at her best friend. The latter burst into laughter at the annoyed looking woman.

 

“Come here, giant”, Sunny replied as she opened her arms and YoonA quickly dashed forward to hug her.

 

“Urghh.. I miss you, midget!”, she said and patted on her back.

 

“I miss you too. How’s your holiday?”, Sunny replied as both of them halted the hug.

 

“It was fun. We visited many interesting places, meeting my old college mate with her husband in London and Italy. And, guess what?”, YoonA said while smiling.

 

“What?”, Sunny furrowed her brows, curious and anticipating at the same time.

 

“We met Jessica unnie in Paris”, YoonA said as she whispered, but it’s loud enough for Sunny to hear. Her eyes suddenly grew wider.

 

“You what?”, she asked again while looking at the latter in disbelief. YoonA glanced at Yuri who was busy talking with Hyomin, and she quickly grabbed Sunny’s arm, dragging her to a corner where they were a bit far from them.

 

“I said, I met Jessica unnie and her family in Paris”, YoonA replied. Sunny slowly nodded while staring at her best friend, trying to process what she had told her just now.

 

“You mean, Jessica and Sooyoung with their children, right?”, she asked.

 

“Yes, you are right. Yuri met her first at the amusement park while waiting for me and Hani to finish playing the games. I was surprised to know it at first after Yuri told me beforehand”, YoonA replied.

 

“So, what’s his reaction after the meeting?”, Sunny asked impatiently.

 

“Surprisingly he looked okay, and he just allowed Sica unnie to meet Hani”, YoonA replied.

 

“Really? Wow! I never thought that Yuri would do that. There must be something that made him change his thoughts about Jessica. And, I’m pretty sure part of it because of you, Yoong”, Sunny confidently said. YoonA nodded in agreement.

 

“You’re right. He told me the same thing, you know. I feel glad that I’m partly the reason for him to change. I don’t want Hani to feel neglected and sad just because her father holds a grudge on her mother. And, her little sister Daniella was really fond of her. They looked so cute when they played together. Hani is such a good older sister to her”, she said.

 

“Hani is just like Yuri. She will treat everyone around her like that. I’m sure she is longing to have siblings, and to find out that she really has real siblings makes her happy and feel blessed”, Sunny replied smiling while looking at the little girl who was busily chatting with her grandmother and Hayoung, probably sharing her vacation experience abroad.

 

“Yeah, I know, right?. Come, let’s join them”, YoonA said as the two began to walk towards the living room.

 

Mrs. Kwon then asked them to stay until lunch time as she and the maids prepared lunch.

Later on that night

 

“Hani is sleeping already?”, Yuri asked right after he went out of the bathroom.

 

“Yup. She just plopped herself on the bed, and a few seconds later she fell asleep”, YoonA replied and gestured to Yuri to sit in front of her. She helped him to dry his wet hair with a hair dryer.

 

“She’s still having jet lag I think. You know, a kid like her spending about fifteen hours on flight, it’s really exhausting”, he said.

 

“Yeah, I know. I’m glad that our flight back to Seoul didn’t delay like last time. Otherwise we need to spend one more day at the transit location”, she replied. She then patted Yuri's shoulders, signaling him to get up as she had already finished drying his hair.

 

“Thank you”, he thanked her. “Now, we should plan our itinerary to L.A for Krystal and Amber wedding. I’m sure she wants to spend more time there since all the family members of her mother’s side and the siblings are there”, Yuri said while combing his hair in front of the mirror at the vanity table.

 

“I’m okay to stay longer there”, she replied while scooting her body to lean on the bed’s headboard.

 

“Really? What about your restaurant and other working schedules?”, Yuri asked, joining YoonA as he sat on the bed next to her.

 

“Tomorrow I will go to the restaurant and discuss it with my assistant. About my other working schedules, I have already cleared with Sunny. She said she’s still emptying my schedule and not accepting any job or invitation yet. So, basically I’m free for our next vacation”, YoonA replied with a giggle. She found it funny that they just came back from a one month vacation and yet they need to plan for another vacation.

 

“Funny isn’t it? But, we couldn’t say no. Jessica has planned so many things for her daughter. Plus, we will be attending an important wedding ceremony, and Krystal is Hani’s aunt, so we got a reason to be there”, Yuri said while patting the pillow and leaning on the headboard.

 

“Yeah, you’re right. So, let’s sleep. I need to get up early tomorrow morning to settle everything”, YoonA replied. She put the pillow down and opened the comforter, ready to sleep.

 

“Let’s. Good night babe”, Yuri said as he did the same and switched off the bedside lamp. He scooted closer to YoonA and back hugged her while kissing on the back of her head.

 

“Good night, honey”, YoonA replied.

Just a sneak peek of the next chapter:

It will be about Yuri, YoonA and Hani travelling to L.A for another vacation. They will attend Krystal and Amber wedding, Yuri encounter with Krystal, and the moment Hani will spend with the family of her mother's side.
