:: For the Sake of Im Yoona ::

 

 

At the park near Han River

 

Yuri decided to bring the devastated girl to the park near the Han river. His intention was to help the miserable young chef to clear her mind and soothe her feelings after she broke down in tears and wailing in his car earlier. Yoona was doubted about his intention at first, and bombarded him with too many questions, but after he explained to her that he wanted to help her, she eventually agreed.

 

He then leads her to the bench were he used to spend his time reflecting back about his divorce case with Jessica, and to think about his daughter's future, and also when he found out that Krystal have to break up with him because of her father's will to marry her with another guy.

 

“Here,” he handed her a can of beer which he bought at the convenience store earlier. Yoona took the can without questioning much, and immediately pulled the can’s lid. She then sipped the beer, and let out a heavy sigh.

 

“Tell me, Kwon, how did you cope with your life after the divorce?,” she suddenly asked, and took another sip of the beer. Yuri took a sip of beer and shifted his gaze towards the view in front of him before he could answer her.

 

“I have a daughter, Yoona, and I have to live for her. She has become the source of my strength since that day, so, I need to be strong for her, and I need to make her happy, and to make sure that she’s not lacking in everything, including a mother’s love. That’s why I put her under the care of my parents,” he said while took another sip of the alcoholic beverage.

 

“Did she even ask you about her mother?,” Yoona asked in curious. Yuri nodded.

 

“Yeah, she did at first, but I have already explained to her the truth that her mother and I have divorced, and not living together. She didn’t understand it at first, well, you know, how can a four years old girl know about the divorce thing, right? So, I just explained to her that her mother and I were not living together, and she has to go back to LA for work. So, when she’s a bit older, she eventually could understand the meaning of ‘divorce’. She could accept it well at first, but she will asked me again whenever her schoolmates mocked her and teasing her for not having a mother. It saddened me and my parents at first, but then I taught her to tell them that her mother worked abroad, so that her schoolmates won’t anymore,” he explained.

 

“I feel sorry for her, though. But, she looks like a bright little girl when I visited her last time. Congratulations, Kwon for successfully raising her well," she said. Yuri just chuckled on her words.

 

“Being a child without a complete family is tough, and I’m sure you know that as well, right? So, don’t feel sad if you are lacking on something. I’m sure everything’s happened have a reason behind it. Who knows, you will meet some other guy who will love you wholeheartedly, not like that Xiao,” Yuri replied.

 

“Urghh.. Please don’t ever mentioned that brat’s name!,” she groaned in anger, and continue sipping her beer.

 

“Arasso, arasso. Mianhae!,” he apologized. Both of them then fell into silence, enjoying the view while sipping the beer as to clear their mind.

 

“Do you want to stay here longer, or you want to go back now?,” Yuri asked after they finished drinking their third can of the beer.

 

“Just send me home. I don’t think I can work right now with this alcohol smell,” she replied.

 

“Arasso,” he then collected the empty cans, and put it back into the plastic bag. “Let’s go,” he said as he got up from the bench.

 

“Urghh..,” Yoona groaned after she stood up as she felt a bit dizzy. Yuri looked at her in concern.

 

“Are you okay?,” he asked. Yoona nodded.

 

“I feel a bit dizzy, but I still can walk,” she replied.

 

“You can hold my arm if you want,” Yuri offered. Yoona just ignored him and wears her black shades while walking past Yuri. He just shook his head and started to walk.

“So, have you thought about the offer to accompany me to Europe?,” Yoona asked right after the car stopped in front of her apartment building area.

 

“Then, who’s going to look after my kid and my ranch?,” he asked her back.

 

“I thought your parents will look after her, and I’m sure you have an assistant to look after your ranch, right?,” she replied.

 

“You don’t understand, Yoona. My daughter is still a kid, though. Although my parents can look after her, I don’t want to leave her for such a long time. If I have to work in Seoul, I will make sure that I can go back to my hometown every weekend. I have made a promise to her on that, you know. And, for my ranch, I have to supervise a trainee who’s undergoing her industrial training there,” he explained.

 

“It’s only one month, Yuri. You can bring your daughter if you want to. Besides, I was planning to go during the school semester break, so that you can bring your daughter to have a vacation too,” Yoona suggested. Yuri fell into silence, and tapping his fingers on the steering wheel as he was in a deep thought.

 

“Let me think about it first. I can’t decide right now,” Yuri said as he unbuckled his seatbelt, and went out of the car. He rushed to the passenger’s side and was about to open the door when Yoona has already went out of the car.

 

“Jeongmal!” he mumbled as he felt annoyed with the latter’s act. He then glared at Yoona, but the latter just casually walking to the apartment building without thanking him. He rushed to the driver’s side and went inside the car, and drove his car immediately to his home.

“A penny for your thoughts?,” Hyomin asked as Yuri wasn’t talking much since they arrived at the cafe. The two were having their coffee time at the cafe near SME building.

 

“Yoona asked me to accompany her to Europe for a month,” he replied, and took a sip of the black coffee.

 

“Yeah, I know that from Sunny. So? Have you made your decision?,” he asked. Yuri just shook his head. “Do you want me to give you an opinion?,” he asked again.

 

“What is it?,” Yuri replied in anticipation.

 

“Just go, Yul. You can take this opportunity to get some rest, and spend more time with Hani too. You can have a bonding time with her. You know, it’s been awhile, right?,” he said.

 

“Yeah, it’s been awhile. The last time I brought her for vacation was like a year ago. My dad and hyung coincidentally attended a seminar in Hong Kong, and he practically forced me to accompany my mom, and to bring Hani together, and we spent our time at Disneyland there. Although it’s a sudden occasion, but she’s really enjoying her time there,” Yuri replied as he smiled, reminiscing the moment he spent there with Hani.

 

“I’m sure she will be excited to know this. If Yoona include Paris in her tour list, you can bring Hani to Disneyland there,” Hyomin said.

 

“You’re right. But, if she didn’t then I still want to go there,” Yuri replied, causing Hyomin chuckled on his words.

 

“Just go, okay? Enjoy your time with your daughter there. Don’t worry about Yoona. I’m sure she won’t bother you much since Hani will be with you,” Hyomin said. Hyomin’s words about Yoona has made Yuri laughed as he found it funny.

 

“Just wait and see,” he replied with a sly smile.

 

The two best friend burst into laughing and continued their random chatting while enjoying their coffee at the cafe.

The Kwon’s Mansion

 

“Hani ya! Come down and let’s have a lunch,” Mrs. Kwon called her granddaughter from the stairs.

 

“Give me two minutes, halmeoni!,” Hani shouted from her room.

 

“What is she doing up there?,” Yuri asked while busy helping his mother setting the table for lunch. He volunteered to cook for lunch on that day since he didn’t have so much work at the ranch, and Yoona have to halt her activities for six months.

 

“What else? She must have been busy dolling up DooE with the new clothes Hayoung bought for her yesterday,” Mrs. Kwon replied with a chuckle.

 

“Poor that puppy. Her unnies love her so much and pampered her with new clothes,” Yuri said while shook his head.

 

“I bet if she have a sibling later, she will do the same to her little brother or sister,” Mrs. Kwon jokingly said.

 

“I bet, she doesn’t have a time to do that since she will get her sibling maybe ten years later,” Yuri replied as he teased his mother.

 

“Waeyo? You don’t want to get married in the near future?,” Mrs. Kwon curiously asked.

 

“It’s not like that, mom. I want to focus on Hani first, watching her growing up, spending as much time as I can with her. I want her to grow up and become a strong and independent girl,” Yuri replied.

 

“Aigoo.. Of course, though! No parent in this world wants to see their children grow up in a lack of love and care. Of course they want their children to grow up well, and become a better person. But, can’t you see with your own eyes that she’s lonely? She needs someone like a mother and siblings in her life, so that she can live happily and healthily. Don’t you remember she fell sick last time because of she missed Krystal?,” Mrs. Kwon tried to put a sense into her son’s head. Yuri was about to reply to his mother, but he couldn’t do so when suddenly his little princess entered the dining room with DooE in her arms.

 

“Aigoo.. Look at DooE’s pretty dress. Is that the new one?,” Mrs. Kwon asked her granddaughter.

 

“Dae, halmeoni. Hayoung unnie bought it for DooE. It’s pretty, isn’t it?,” Hani replied excitedly.

 

“Yes, sweetie. Now, put DooE down, and go wash your hands first,” Mrs. Kwon said.

 

“Dae,” the little girl obediently followed on her grandmother’s order, and she put DooE on the floor. The little puppy become excited and started running around the dining room.

 

“Daddy cook cheese bokkeumbap for Hani today,” Yuri said. The little girl’s eyes lit up after hearing her father cooked her favorite menu.

 

“Yeay! Daddy jjang!,” Hani cheered. Mrs. Kwon frowned on her grandchildren’s act.

 

“Oh, so my cooking is not as good as your daddy, huh?,” the older woman said while crossing her arms sulkily. Yuri just chuckled on his mother’s childish antics.

 

“Halmeoni's cooking is double jjang!,” she said while giving her thumbs up, causing Yuri and his mother burst into laughing.

 

“Dad is not going to join us lunch today?,” Yuri asked while his hands busy scooping some cheese bokkeumbap and put it into the plate.

 

“He will have his lunch at the club with Mr. Shin there. You know, club for those old men,” Mrs. Kwon sarcastically said, causing Yuri chuckled.

 

“Just let him be, mom. It’s a way for him to release his stress from work. Young people nowadays also playing golf, right?,” Yuri replied.

 

“Glad that his hobby didn’t influence you and Hyukjun. Otherwise, I will die lonely in this house,” she said.

 

“Hani will not let halmeoni feel lonely. Hani will stay here with DooE to take care of halmeoni forever,” Hani said while munching her food.

 

“Aww.. that’s very sweet of you, my little princess!,” Mrs. Kwon replied as she smiled.

 

“Hani want to stay here with halmeoni?,” Yuri asked.

 

“Hmm!,” the little girl replied and bobbed her head up and down.

 

“Arasso. We will stay here forever with halmeoni and haraboji,” he said.

 

“Why are you two so sweet today, huh? Is there something that I don’t know?,” Mrs. Kwon asked while giving a suspicious look at the two.

 

“Huh? We don’t hide anything. We said the truth, though,” Yuri replied. Mrs. Kwon wasn’t satisfied with Yuri’s answer, and continued giving him a suspicious look. Yuri sighed as he started to speak.

 

“Alright. Yoona asked me to accompany her to Europe for a month..,” Yuri was about to continue his words when his mother cut him off.

 

“Mwoh? Europe? For one month?,” she exclaimed in surprise.

 

“Yes, mom. You heard it clearly, right? But, I still not making any decision yet. My friends suggested that I should bring Hani too since Yoona planned to go during school holiday,” Yuri said.

 

“Daddy want to bring Hani to Europe on school holiday?,” Hani asked as her eyes lit up in excitement.

 

“Yes, sweetie. Do you want to go? We can ask halmeoni to join us too,” Yuri replied while glancing at his mother.

 

“Then, who’s going to look after your dad?,” she sarcastically asked. Yuri just chuckled on his mother’s words as he knew that his dad won’t let her go.

 

“So, Mrs. Kwon, will you give us your permission to go to Europe?,” Yuri asked his mother.

 

Mrs. Kwon then glanced at her grandchild, and she could see her eyes were full of hope. She knew, it’s been awhile since the last time they went for vacation together, but because of her husband and Yuri were busy with their respective works, her poor grandchild could only spent her time in school, and with her at the mansion. She then let out a deep sigh.

 

“Arasso. Hani should spend more time with you. Besides, it’s been awhile since the last time she had a proper vacation. Last time in Hong Kong was a coincident. So, just go you two and have fun,” she replied with a smile.

 

“Yeayy!,” Yuri and Hani cheered happily. But then Yuri froze in his seat as suddenly something came across his mind.

 

“Err.. why am I happy to go for vacation with that brat, huh? No, no.. this is not 'her' vacation. This is 'our' vacation. My vacation with Hani. She just happened to tag along with us, right?,” Yuri thought.

 

“Daddy!,” Hani’s voice snapped him out of his thought.

 

“Yes, sweetie,” said as he turned to look at his daughter.

 

“Can we bring DooE too?,” she innocently asked.

 

“No, we can’t, baby. DooE have to stay with halmeoni. We can’t bring her inside the aircraft,” Yuri replied to her. Hani’s happy face suddenly turned into gloomy, feeling sad because she have to leave DooE for one month.

 

“Don’t worry, sweetie. Halmeoni will look after DooE. She couldn’t travel far because she’s still small, and she will fall sick later,” Mrs. Kwon reasoned.

 

“Chincha?,” the little girl asked.

 

“Yes, baby. She is still not used with the outside environment. Let’s wait until she’s grow up, and we can bring her for another vacation later, okay?,” Yuri replied.

 

“Okay,” Hani said as she smiled. Yuri caressed his daughter’s hair as he smiled in content. Somehow he feel glad that Hani will always listen to him and her grandparents.

 

“Alright. Finish your food first,” Yuri said.

 

“Dae,” the little girl obediently nodded and continue eating her food.

A month later, at Incheon Airport

 

“Don’t be naughty, and always listen to your daddy, arasso?,” Mrs. Kwon said while caressing gently on her granddaughter’s head. Hani was hugging her while pouting.

 

“I’m going to miss you, halmeoni,” she said sadly.

 

“Aigoo.. It’s only for one month, sweetie. Don’t worry, haraboji will accompany halmeoni when you’re not around, how about that?,” Mrs. Kwon said while glancing at her husband.

 

“Yes, sweetie. Haraboji promise to accompany halmeoni, so don’t worry, okay?,” he promised while holding out his pinky finger. Hani lifted her pinky finger and entwined with her grandfather’s finger.

 

“Promise, no playing golf during weekend, and stay with halmeoni,” Hani said, causing the older Kwon burst out laughing on her words.

 

“Arasso, Young Lady Kwon. Haraboji promise, no golf on weekend,” he said as he smiled. Mrs. Kwon’s eyes then wandering around the area, but she couldn’t find a glimpse of Yoona.

 

“Where’s Yoona, Yul?,” she asked her son.

 

“She’s on her way here, mom. Sunny is sending her to the airport,” Yuri replied. Mrs. Kwon nodded understandingly.

 

After bidding his parents a goodbye, Yuri and Hani then headed to the airline desk for a check-in process.

 

Not long after, Yoona and Sunny arrived at the airport. The latter just wearing casual clothes, a dark blue hoodie and thick jacket with an inner white shirt, a pair of jeans, a cap and sneakers. She just walking casually while pushing the luggage cart together with Sunny.

 

“I didn’t see Yuri and his daughter, though” Yoona said right after the she had done with the ticketing process.

 

“He texted me earlier. He said he and Hani were already at the departure lounge.

 

“Oh,” Yoona replied. “Alright, I’ll see you in a month after. Take care,” Yoona said as she leaned forward to hug her danshin friend.

 

“You too. Don’t think too much, enjoy your holiday and one thing, don’t bully Yul and his daughter, arasso? I will root you on that,” Sunny said and warned the latter at the same time before she halted the hug.

 

“Jeongmal! You think I’m that cruel and have a time to do that? Aigoo..,” Yoona replied as she rolled her eyes annoyingly. Sunny just chuckled as she felt amused teasing her jangshin friend.

 

“Send my regards to Yuri and Hani, okay?,” she said before as she bid a goodbye to Yoona.

 

“Okay,” Yoona casually replied while waving her hand at Sunny. She then proceeded to the airline desk to do the routine check-in process.

“Daddy, where’s Yoona imo?,” Hani asked. She was sitting beside her father while reading a storybook by herself. Yuri will help her once a while with her reading.

 

“She’s on the way here, sweetie,” Yuri replied. Right after he answered to his daughter, the said person finally appeared, and she slowly entering the lounge area. Yuri waved his hand at the latter, and she slowly heading towards them.

 

“Sorry I’m late. You know, Sunny isn’t a good driver at all,” she said as she chuckled.

 

“Yeah, I know,” he replied with a smile. “Hani ah, say hello to imo,” Yuri said to his daughter. Hani obediently listened to her father's as she put her storybook aside, and got up from the couch.

 

“Annyeong haseyo, imo,” the little girl greeted and bowed.

 

“Annyeong, Hani,” Yoona replied as she smiled. Although their first encounter at the hospital last time wasn’t that smooth, this time Yoona has determined and was going to make sure that they could get along, and will try to be nice to both of them. Hani then went back to her seat and continue reading her storybook.

 

“We still need to wait another two hours before the flight will depart,” Yuri said.

 

“Yeah,” she replied in short. “Ermm.. I’m going to get some coffee. Do you want anything? Hani?,” she asked as she got up from her seat.

 

“Black coffee will do. Hani ya, do you want anything to drink or eat?,” Yuri asked his daughter.

 

“Hani can’t choose. Can Hani follow imo and decide later?,” Hani replied, causing Yuri and Yoona chuckled.

 

“Arasso,” he said. He then took his wallet and draw several bills from it. He was about to hand the banknotes to his little girl when Yoona suddenly stopped him.

 

“It’s okay. It’s on me. Kaja!,” Yoona said as she extended her hand towards Hani. The little girl gladly grabbed her hand, and both of them immediately walking towards the lounge’s counter, leaving Yuri in dumbfounded. But then he eventually smiled for the sight of his daughter and Yoona walking hand in hand together.

The two hours of waiting has finally ended when they heard an announcement to board the plane. Their first destination is London, and then followed by Paris, and next, Italy. Yoona has planned to stay in Italy a little bit longer.

 

“Hani ya, if you feel sleepy then just sleep, arasso?,” Yuri said.

 

“Hani not feel sleepy yet. Hani want to watch cartoon first. Can Hani do that, daddy?,” Hani replied while looking at her daddy.

 

“Yes, baby. But don’t stay too long, arasso? It’s not good for your eyes. Daddy want to sleep first. Just wake daddy up if you want to go to the bathroom, or if you feel hungry, arasso?,” he said as he recline his seat, and getting ready to sleep.

 

“Dae, daddy,” the little girl replied. She then switched on the PTV screen, and tried to find the cartoon channel, but she couldn’t understand the instruction. She then turned to look at Yoona who’s her seat was in the same row as theirs.

 

“Yoona imo,” the little girl called her. Yoona was about to close her eyes when she heard Hani called her. She immediately turned towards the little girl.

 

“Yes, Hani? What is it?,” she replied.

 

“Can imo help Hani to find the cartoon channel? Daddy already sleeping,” Hani said.

 

“Ah, arasso. Wait,” Yoona replied as she got up from her seat. She has booked their seats to business class as there were not many passengers using the same service at that time. She then went to Hani’s seat, and as she glanced at Yuri’s seat, her eyes widened in surprise as she cupped and laughed.

 

“Why are you laughing, imo?,” Hani asked. Yoona then pointed at Yuri while still laughing.

 

“Oh, that’s daddy’s friend, Mickey. He loves Mickey Mouse. Daddy said mommy bought it for him as a present on his birthday,” Hani informed.

 

“Chincha? Jeongmal!,” she replied as her laughter eventually died down. She then helped the little girl to search for cartoon channel.

 

“There you go,” she said. She then helped Hani to put the headphone on her.

 

“Thank you, imo,” Hani thanked her. Yoona smiled and ruffled the little girl’s hair. She was about to return to her seat when suddenly an idea popped up on her head. She secretly took her phone, and went near to Hani’s seat. The little girl was too oblivious as she was busy watching the cartoon. Yoona then launched her secret mission, taking Yuri’s sleeping photos while he was holding Mickey Mouse soft toys.

 

“I will use this as a weapon if he tried to do something funny to me.. hehehe..,” she mumbled as she giggled. She then quietly went back to her seat. She slide the phone screen, and checking back on the photo of sleeping Yuri she took earlier, and chuckled silently. She then put her phone aside, and decided to take a nap for awhile.
