Her Death God
Good Morning - Kassy (Fight For My Way OST)
Chapter Five
His voice was void of emotion when he spoke and I began to wonder if I was talking to a robot. I mean, he's so careless! How can he say things like that without even thinking about it? Without any emotion no less! If he continues talking to me like this, I'll misunderstand everything.
...You know, I wonder if Death Gods have feelings.
...Probably not. I envy them.
I continue to scold Sehun in my mind as I stare at the triangle kimbap in my hands until he starts to speak again.
“I am very curious myself as to why you can see souls as well as us Death Gods. You're not dead nor are you one of our kind. And yet you possess something we don't: the ability to see souls once they are inside a human's body. Only our Yeomra has that ability. And now you.”
I look up at him, my confusion apparent, before grabbing the glass of water and drinking half of it.
He holds my gaze as he continues. “I need your abilities to accomplish my mission here.”
“Before you continue, my name is Ha Eun, not lady or slave,” I point out as I look at the food in my hands again. “Besides, I don't know if I can help you. Everything feels so surreal right now and nothing has sunk in yet. I mean, every time I look at you, I feel like I'm still dreaming.”
“Look, I need to find the eight missing souls. Only then can I go back to The Baseline,” he sighs and I know he's explaining his mission here on Earth.
“You know there are hundreds of millions of souls here. How are we going to find eight specific ones?”
“If one of the eight souls are nearby, the bell here will make a sound.” He shows me the red braided string around his wrist and I notice my hair band resting just behind it. I unconsciously touch my hair before I notice the tattoo again and I drop my hand as my curiosity tries to get the better of me again. “And since I'm your boyfriend, you'll be with me all the time so you;ll be able to help me out.”
My jaw drops as I stare at the Death God in shock. I start to laugh awkwardly and he stares at me in confusion, no hint of humour in
