Chapter Sixteen

My alarm wakes me up and I blindly reach for it on top of the coffee table and sits up with my eyes still closed. I thought it’s cold. I flutter my eyes open and the blanket drops on my lap. I don’t remember using this one? I turn my head towards Sehun’s room and it’s still closed. “He must be still sleeping.”

After washing up and changing my clothes, Sehun is already outside his room, sitting on the dining table while having a cup of hot coffee and breakfast prepared on the table. I start walking towards the dining area and clears my throat.

“Have a seat.”

When he suddenly speaks my shoulders raises up and he places the cup of coffee he’s drinking on top of the table. “I-It’s okay. I just want to say thank you for letting me stay here for the night. I need to go and find myself a new place to stay at so I could also bring my other stuff there.”

He looks at me and when our eyes meet, I feel too shy to look back so I look away and slightly bite down on my lower lip. “Here,” he slides a paper towards me on top of the table and there’s an address and name written on it. “The rent there is very cheap and it’s spacious. You can check on it later because we have to go somewhere today.”

“Where?”

“Lost soul.”

He stands up and picks something inside the paper bag on top of the counter top and hands me a new trench coat and my fingertips brushes against its expensive looking fabric, “I can use my old one.”

“You’re going to use what you wore yesterday, really?”

He’s mocking me.

“I will pay for this.” I slip my arms and it feels extremely warm and comfy. I notice something warm on the pockets of it as well. There are hot packs and I watch him already walking outside the penthouse. I smile softly and takes one out of the pocket.

I start walking with Sehun while I keep pressing the hot pack between my hands to keep me warm. I don’t even know how we are going to start looking for that soul. Out of all the souls here, I don’t also know how you are going to know that it’s a missing soul he’s looking for.

“What are you thinking? You’re quiet again.” He suddenly speaks and when I turn my head I see him looking at me. I instantly look away because I know looking into his eyes will not make my thoughts safe.

“Nothing, I was just thinking how we are going to find that soul, I mean there’s a lot of souls here…” I stated a fact. Not only that, I don’t see souls around recently. I think it’s because they know I am with always with a Death God.

“Last night…” Sehun starts, but his eyes are glued ahead. “You cried and – “

“Ah that one?” I laugh awkwardly after cutting him off. “Don’t worry. I will forget about that and think as if nothing happen.” I answered.

I know he will be saying that just like what I see in TVs when something so surprising and heart fluttering happens between two persons.

I didn’t get any answer from Sehun and instead he continues walking as if he didn’t hear me. If I could just smack him once. I gasp when all of a sudden, two other Death Gods starts walking with us. Me in the middle and they started talking.

“Doryeong-nim, he went to Apgujeong-Gangnam.” The one beside me said and then I glance at Sehun who is still walking. He’s like the boss of them beside the other two Death Gods’ heads are dipped down while talking.

The other one glances at me an
