Chapter Eighteen

“What’s your plan?” I asked while glancing at him and he just stares at the gate of the house.

“I’m holding your hand for a good reason.”

I look down at our linked hands and I sigh heavily. Did I misinterpreted everything again? “Why?”

“Who are you?”

A voice of the girl comes from behind and I turn my head to look at her and then back to Sehun who seem so relax. What is his plan? I gently tug on his arm and he flashes a small smile, giving my hand a gentle squeeze to assure me. I look up at him.

Those two words made me nod my head and we both turn to look at the kid who is carrying a bag full of instant noodles and a pack of kimchi. I look at her from head to toe and I you can really tell how she’s not taking care of herself. Her hair is a little messy, she’s wearing slightly worn out clothes already.

“What are you doing in front of our house?” she asked again and I notice from a far, two souls hiding behind a wall are looking at us. They must have noticed that a Death God is with me. Wait, are they the souls Sehun is looking for?

“We are your late parents’ friends. We’re here to talk to your guardian.” Sehun said and I blink a couple of times in confusion before glancing at him.

Are we pretending? Ohh, so this is his plan? I nod my head after what he said.

How did he know it’s her aunt?

The young girl looks at us suspiciously and I awkwardly smile at her. It’s the most natural smile I could show her. Out of everything, my smile is the one only thing I’m not good at faking at. “I don’t remember seeing you.” she’s still suspicious. Maybe it’s because of my awkward looking smile.

“Why is that girl taking so long?” I heard that annoyed voice of that middle aged woman and she stares at me and Sehun, eyeing us from head to toe. She has this thick frowning eyebrows, her hair is tied up into a messy bun while holding a cigarette between her fingers. “Who are you two?”

“Are you the Aunt?” Sehun asks without even greeting her first making me gasp in surprise because I could see in her face that she was surprised at how disrespectful was that.

“Yah,” I tug his arm and dips my head towards the middle aged woman, “Ah, my name is…”

“I would like to talk to you about this kid.” Sehun interrupted me again as he points to the girl who walks closer towards us. She looks at her Aunt and then us.
