It’s been 1 week since that incident, and I haven’t talked to Johnny since. I’ve been staying at one of the hotels owned by my company and I had simply moved my essentials from the house to the hotel room but I had someone else do it for me. I know I’d eventually have to go back but for now, I’d like to keep my distance for as long as I can. He’d attempted to drop by my office, presumably to continue the fight but I simply turned him away; my refusal to meet him was still strong. I kept myself occupied with work as the snow fell harder around Seoul. This year’s snowfall in Seoul had been one of the country’s greatest in decades, the snow piling up along sidewalks and highways. All over the news, news of increased car accidents was present and daily reminders to drive safely were issued. To your surprise, and relief, Johnny stopped appearing on the news during the period of time you spent separated from him and you hope it meant good things, that he was slowly unlearning his bad ways. But you knew how hard it was for someone to change, and you told yourself to get your hopes up too high, else you would end up sorely disappointed.
Turning your thoughts away from Johnny and back towards your work, you began to work on the next pile of documents waiting to be signed until you were interrupted by a knock on your door.
“Come in.”
A familiar head of black hair popped in and Taeyong’s voice ran calmly through your silent big office.
“Lydia, your parents are here and they said they would be waiting for you downstairs.”
“Noted. Thanks Taeyong.”
He simply nodded and left as silently as he had come. Taeyong was a trusted secretary and dear friend of yours.
