SmudgesMay 2016, 3 months since the signing of the contract
Today was the day of your wedding day and the contract came into effect today. For the past 3 months, you only saw Johnny on shooting sets for your wedding or when the two of you had to film for the variety show. Today was also the day the variety show was set to end. You were supposed to be happy because finally after so long, you could escape from the cameras and stop having your life broadcasted for the entire nation to view. But you knew another prison awaited you after escaping this one.
If filming the variety show was a week’s sentence, living with Johnny would be a life sentence.
Today was also the day you would start living under the same roof as Johnny and you were already looking forward to May 2018, when you can finally be freed from him. You’ve had nothing but bad experiences with him, and you knew all he wanted to do was take advantage of you in any way he can.
“You’re ready Miss.”
Broken from your train of thoughts, you thanked your team of stylist before staring at yourself in the full length mirror. Everything about your look today screamed “Wrong!” in your face. Against your wishes, you wore a very extravagant looking wedding dress. It had a sweetheart neckline and the entire bodice was studded with diamonds of every size; the harsh studio lights reflecting off your diamonds was actually enough to make your eyes physically hurt. The skirt was layers of lace and the skirt also had some diamonds, as if the ones on your corset wasn’t already enough. Your hair was drawn up into a bun except from your fringe, which hung down the side of the face in a small twist. Diamond earrings hung from your earlobe in a single dangling line and your makeup was in a shade of rose gold today, slightly more the natural side. Your lips were a shade of light pink, nothing too loud today.
You looked pretty, but you don’t feel beautiful inside.
You weren’t allowed to be left with your thoughts for long because your father had come to usher you down the aisle.
“You did a great job for the past 3 months Lydia, just keeping smiling for today ok?”
How could your father say that to you, when you’ve been feeling so disgusted at yourself for the past 3 months having to act like someone you’re not? You don’t hate your parents, you knew deep down that this was inevitable but still, you wished he didn’t have to glorify your work for the past 3 months because to you, it was nothing to be proud of, and you felt like no one should think it is. You didn’t say anything back and instead, all you did was hook your arms with his, signalling to him that you were ready. Both of you left the room, and headed down to the wedding hall right on the ground floor. The cream coloured doors opened and immediately deafening claps sounded through the entire hall. You smiled, recognising everyone seated as business partners. Finally turning your face to the front, you noticed Johnny smiling widely.
Putting on a good show, as always.
Finally passing you to Johnny, your father took a step back and now all eyes were on the couple. You said your vows and exchanged your wedding rings which consisted of both gold and silver with a line of 5 diamonds studded around the band of the ring. The rings represented the two of you perfectly; one was silver and the other was
