"Do I really need to meet him?" I whine. This is the main reason why I hate going to one of Soojung's parties. She may be my best friend but I have never been fond of spending my Friday nights drinking and waking up to strangers on a bed the next morning half-. I had enough of it after what happened last week when I woke up next to my ex-boyfriend, of all people.
It has been a while since I broke up with Mark and my streak of ignoring him for years was going perfectly well. Soojung's boyfriend just had to invite him to their party and ruined everything for me.
"Yes, you do." Soojung drags me into the living room. I pray that my ears won't go deaf because of the loud music in the house. I'm a bit surprised as to why she hasn't gotten a complain yet about the noise in all of her parties. "He is one of Sehun's friends. He is an architect and had just started working for Leo Designs, I think."
"Soojung, I'm really not up to match-making now. I had enough of boys." I scream to her over the loud and rowdy music. Ever since Mark and I broke up, I have been into numerous relationships, flings to be exact. We were never serious and it always ended after a few weeks. I guessed I just dated those boys as a rebound to get over Mark.
She stops walking abruptly causing me to bump into the side of her shoulder. She looks at me before letting out a long sigh. "Do this for me, Wendy. Just once. If you don't like him, you can just ignore him and walk away. Besides, I don't want you going home with some guy again tonight."
I cross my arms, "So, this guy will be a babysitter for me tonight? I'm 23 for your information and I'm capable of taking care of myself."
She archs an eyebrow, "Are you sure about that? You went home with Mark last week." Knowing that she is right, I groan and let her win the argument. "Like what I said, if he isn't interesting or up to your standards, you can just walk away from him. But who knows, maybe he could be the one for you?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me and giggles as she walks towards where the boys are in the living room.
I roll my eyes and reluctantly follow her. Soojung walks towards Sehun who is sitting on the sofa and pecks him on the cheek. I nod my head at Kyungsoo and Jongdae who are in a serious match of arm-wrestling. I watch their entertaining show and laugh when Kyungsoo widens his eyes as he tries to put Jongdae's hand down. Unfortunately for him, Jongdae is a bit stronger and manages to push his hand back.
"Who do you think will win?" I didn't even notice that a guy has been standing next to me the entire time. I turn around to face him and awkwardly gawk at him. His red hair is neatly styled up. I might be exaggerating but he looks like a Greek god. He is a head taller than me and his features are gorgeously handsome. The leather jacket he is wearing makes him ten times more attractive. "I know I'm very attractive but the show is still going on, you know."
He turns to me and smirks. I quickly regain my composure and clear my throat. "I bet Kyungsoo will win," he says.
"What makes you think of that? Jongdae is much more stronger than Kyungsoo."
"Kyungsoo may be small but he has a strength like Hercules."
"Really?" I look at him quizzically.
The male nods his head. "He won a weight-lifting competition in high school."
"Are you serious?" I haven't known Kyungsoo for long. We only met through Sehun and would occasionally talk during the parties. He wasn't much of a friend but I like having him around as company. But I didn't really expect he would be that strong.
Their arm-wrestling match gained the attention of many people and they are crowding around the two of them. They are cheering for both of the boys.
"How about we make a bet?
