"Are you sure of this, Wendy? Mountain trekking? Really?" Eunkwang repeated a few times. "Do you even know what mountain trekking is?" which earned him a whack on the shoulder.

"Of course I know what it is! I've studied about mountain trekking the whole night!" She answered ("You studied it, of course", Eunkwang muttered under his breath). Irene tried to hide her laughter. Nobody was going to be able to change Wendy's mind after she made it. Few days earlier she had called all of them and decided that they were all going to a trip together the following week. Wendy herself was scheduled to go back to Canada with her family and she wanted to spend her last few days in Korea with her friends, which of course, once she had said it that way, nobody could object. Eunkwang tried to suggest a few less taxing trips to her, few days on the beach, or some camping trip instead, but she rejected all because she wanted to see the mountain. "My last ever mountain trekking in Korea." she sniffled ("Your last and first" Again, Eunkwang muttered under his breath).

Surprisingly Sungjae agreed enthusiastically to the idea despite the disapproval from Eunkwang. He had always loved nature and enjoyed going on such trips. In the end, they all agreed to go. Wendy suggested to also invite all their classmates to go, which again, nobody would object. In the end Wendy and Irene became the honorary organisers, calling up everyone from their batch to inform them, or in Wendy's case, force them to join the activity. 

It was three days before the trip that Wendy and Irene bumped into Joy at the grocery store. They were doing their last minute shopping to make sure that they had all the necessary items. To Irene's recollection, Joy had never confirmed whether she was coming to the trip, but just in case, they left a spot open for her. Wendy exclaimed noisily when she saw Joy, "Joy!! What a nice surprise seeing you here!" Wendy hugged her tightly. Joy smiled, used to Wendy's friendly gestures. Irene gave her a small hug with a smile on her lovely face.

"You know, I never did get a confirmation from you whether you are coming along for the trip. I'm sorry I didn't call you sooner, I was too busy with all the preparations. Both Irene and myself barely slept a wink these last few days..." Wendy went on and on. Joy looked at her and Irene.
