One night in Bali
Cool Hot Sweet L.O.V.E."Let's try that. It looks really delicious." Sungjae approached the food stall. Joy and himself had been planning to visit the nearby villages and markets during the whole flight. They had sat together on the plane, researching about Bali using the books that Joy had bought a day earlier to plan their visit. The others declined to follow ("You're both insane!" declared Eunkwang,) and pleaded exhaustion when they insisted. As soon as the plane touched down in Bali and both of them had checked into their respective rooms, they went out to start their sightseeing.
"Here, here! Look at this!" Joy exclaimed at the huge spread of local fabric and sarongs at one of the stalls. Her eyes widened as she savored the sight of the never ending textile heaven in front of her. Sungjae laughed at her expression. He could have sworn her eyes had suddenly doubled in size.
"Choose a few, my treat." He said.
"You don't have to do that," came out of but her hands had started to work through the different fabrics displayed in front of her.
"Yes, yes. But I should." He suggested a few to her. 'Definitely red,' he mused to himself, 'she looks great in red'. He could still remember her in the red dress back in their mountain trip.
He thought it was impossible, but her eyes got even bigger at the sight of jewelleries, which of course, include pearls. He learned one thing that day. Never come in between a girl and pearls. He had to physically drag her away from the stall as she almost proceeded to buy everything the seller had to offer. Thankfully, she settled on just a few pieces.
He joked to her afterwards that the seller could have taken a long vacation if Joy had purchased everything she wanted ("So what? I'm contributing to the local economy." She quipped). She officially declared that Bali night market was one of her favourite places in the world.
"What are your other favourite places?" He asked. They had settled down at the beach, finally too tired to walk around, eating ice cream and watching the sunset.
"Paris, and umm.. Jeju-do?" She grinned at him. "I don't travel much." She paused to put a spoonful of ice cream into . "What about you? You've been around. What are your favourite places?"
Sungjae paused to think. "I don't know, I don't exactly travel to touristy areas. Maybe.. umm.. Capetown?"
"You've been to Capetown? When?"
"Oh, that was a long time ago, maybe ten years ago before.." Sungjae stopped himself from talking. It was starting again, he could feel it, he could feel the pull from her that made him to want to spill everything to her.
She noticed his hesitation and turned to fully look at him. "Before what?"
He hesitated, contemplating whether he should tell her the story that he had held inside of him for ten years.
"Before what?" She repeated, sensing his indecision. This was her only chance to make him talk. She had been curious all along on what had been troubling him all thes
